This place has been so many things, and now it’s a delicious café and ice cream parlor. I love the peanut butter and chocolate and the raspberry cordial. The eclectic style and décor is a great place to get indoor photos and might be the only place in Indy area where I’ve seen a full armored knight!

What a fun experience for ice cream! Reminds me of an old fashion soda shop. The food was ok but we were really only there for the ice cream. They have a few special sundae treats and you must try the marshmallow coke. So sugary but so good. The only thing that surprised me was that they were using Edys ice cream, not their own. At least they put their own twist on it.

This place is a hidden gem. Who knew there was a cute little ice cream shop with space for bridal/baby showers and parties in Fortville? Kinda random — but they sell the same kind of ice cream that Disney World sells. It’s SOGOOD. We went late at night and upon entering was immediately awed by the vibe, however, as newbies we were very confused on where to go and what to do. There was another couple obviously wondering what to do as well. We instinctively walked up to the ice cream cooler to look at the flavors and order, however you’re supposed to order on the other side of the place which was confusing. We had to walk all the way around and then back. They just don’t have it set up to be convenient to the customer and it felt awkward — especially with no sign instructing us on what to do. I know that they have food too, but that part was closed when we went at night. You can tell the place loves the small town feel — you can pick up numerous business cards and flyers for businesses in and around Fortville all over their shop. They even have a wall designated to that. The owner or manager that was working was also very friendly ad made us feel very welcome despite the initial awkwardness. Try this place out. It’s fun and one of a kind.

Visit for the ice-cream(but the meals are just average). You can’t beat Indulge for the ice-cream, milkshake, malts, floats, pies, etc. You can’t find a better deal on ice-cream in the region, and the flavors are rotated through reasonably quickly so you aren’t always looking at the same options time and time again. But, the meals lack seasoning and taste. They are okay and average, so go ahead and grab them if you’re hungry, but don’t expect a taste explosion in your mouth.

Indulge is one of those out of the way places that has something special. They are very close to being outstanding but here are my reasons that I probably won’t make the extra effort. We ordered food first and I had the chicken quesadilla and a marshmallow coke. The coke was pretty neat, except that it was served in a to go cup and I had to drink about a third of it to keep it from overflowing once the marshmallow cream was added. I know the to go cup is a little thing, but they knew we were staying and it would have really added to the atmosphere if it was served in an old style soda fountain glass. The chicken quesadilla had fair flavor. I think the chicken stays in a holding container for a while and it wasn’t dry prior to putting it onto the tortilla, causing the tortilla to become soggy even though they somewhat grilled it.(could have been grilled longer as well.) The tortilla chips served with it were from the bottom of the bag and was a lot of crumbs and were a little stale. The salsa it was served with was probably straight off the store shelf. It had good flavor but there wasn’t anything fresh or special about it. Since this place is known for it’s confections, I expected it to really shine. they have a couple of specialty items, but they are both extremely large 2 person items that are only different due to the flavor. I have had a lot of banana splits in my time so I decided to judge it based on that. The banana split was made with a whole banana. It had chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice creams and they were topped with chocolate, strawberries and pineapples. The whip cream was reddi-whip and there were cherries on top. I had them hold off of adding nuts. The ice cream scoops were generously large and it had to be served in a dish on a plate due to the toppings sliding off the sides because they were so generous. I would like to have seen a place like this use real whip cream and also make some of their own ice cream. All the ice cream was Edy’s. The other confections were candy, cookies and fudge. The cookies and fudge appeared to be homemade, but all the candy was store bought, which I would expect. While this place does have extreme potential to be something special, I have to call it a swing and a miss. If I was in town and wanted ice cream, I would stop in, but it’s not worth a special trip.

Great small town revival place to get your ice cream fix. Old downtown revival places like these are usually three stars out of the gate with me(props to repurposed real estate). The building is a renovated five and dime and HUGE on the inside. It’s tough to tell exactly what is going on in the back portion of the place(Art gallery? Still not sure…) Anyhow plenty of seating toward the front. Edy’s ice cream being served with a wide variety of preparation options(and toppings) is the order of the day. I guess they sling regular grub too but meh there… ice cream. On my visit, my daughter and I decided to share a traditional banana split. I thought the price was reasonable and it was tasty. But they were out of maraschino cherries(?!) How does an ice cream place run out of those? Anyhow it was really good and we will be back. Awfully nice to have a high caliber ice cream place this close… very family friendly too.

We came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. The sandwiches(Reuben and grilled cheese) were both good. The only downside is that since they serve ice cream and candy there are a lot of kids. They do have an adult seating section though. The ice cream is excellent and the portions are huge. We ordered a chocolate shake and hot fudge sundae. Both were big enough to share — but it’s ice cream, so who really wants to share? We will definitely be back.

Hectic week, so I decided to treat myself to some ice cream at Indulge. I came around 5:30 which is the time they reopen for the evening. I was greeted warmly by two employees. I told them it was my first visit, so they quickly gave me a run down of the place. Food menu on the left and ice cream menu on the right. They had a variety of salads, sandwiches, and soups. I was interested in the daily soup, but unfortunately they didn’t have any. Bummer. Off to the ice cream menu. They had sundaes, shakes, ice cream sandwiches and other specialty items. The prices were reasonable, too. Very rarely do I see a sundae for less than $ 5. I decided to try the ice cream sandwich. I like how you can select any type of cookie and ice cream you’d like. They only had two cookie options, so I went with the triple chocolate chip cookie. They had a little over 10 varieties of ice cream. Not many and all were pretty standard flavors including strawberry, chocolate, moose tracks, etc. I went for the mint chocolate chip ice cream. Holy Moly! Unilocalers weren’t kidding about the portion size. Pretty nice size. Cost $ 4.50 plus tax. The ice cream sandwich was pretty good and oddly not too messy. It couldn’t finish it in one sitting. This place is worth a visit. When I have more time on my hand and am feeling a little more adventurous I will try one of their specialty creations like the Pink Elephant.

An unexpected pleasure! Sitting outside, enjoying the French tunes, eating a yummy ice cream cone. A fun twist for a lazy Saturday afternoon. We all could use a simple distraction from time to time to recharge.

The Relay for Life committee I am a part of held our kickoff event at Indulge last week and we had a great time. They were very accommodating and we’ve decided to hold our monthly meetings there as well. I was surprised as to how big the space was! My sister and I were starved that night so we decided to split a sandwich and get some ice cream of course. I had heard the portion for ice cream were huge! We ordered the chicken salad that came on a very soft croissant with chips and fruit. For dessert, we both opted for a kids size of peanut butter ice cream and we’re glad we did. Even the kids size was big for me but I finished it all! I’m excited to try their other menu offerings(lasagna and pulled pork Tuesday) along with their other ice cream selections.

This is our family’s new favorite ice cream stop. Very nice atmosphere features the ice cream counter, a candy counter and even local art displays in the back. I love the mix of comfy couch seating and tables. They did a great job decorating the place. Most important of all is the ice cream. Delicious ice cream treats, very affordable prices and extremely friendly staff. Most treats tend to be $ 2 – 3. It’s never been over $ 3 per person on our trips. Keep in mind we factor in some kiddy cone sizes each time. The Williams’ don’t always go out for ice cream, but when they do they go to Indulge.
