I’m here 4 times a week. I love how convenient it is and they’re always stocked with everything I need. They don’t have any protein fresh, but that’s ok, Kroger is down the street!

Visited this store a few times to pick up items I can’t find at a regular grocery store, the guy at the counter is always very helpful and kind.

My new favorite place to purchase supplies to make boba tea. Four stars because this is one of the only Asian markets without the strong fish smell. :)

Love this little shop here right off the corner of beach and basswood. It’s a great little asian shop that you can go and get some groceries and some snacks there without having to drive all the way down to belknap street or arlington to get your asian vegetables/snacks. The prices aren’t bad either so it’s definitely a great place to go shop! The owner is super nice and friendly and they are always there to help out. Great little shop it’s clean, tidy, and organized so you definitely need to come here if you are looking to get some items without driving very far. It definitely fills the need of a good asian supermarket in the area. They also sell sno-cones there and you can get fresh fruit to put on them so it’s definitely worth a try!!! Go support a local shop and some great owners!!!

Awesome little Oriental Market! Clean, good selection, and the owner is always smiling(we affectionately call this place Smiling Asian Guy Market). For some reason, he has a large selection of Filipino goods(from bagoong to polvorone… from jufran to ube ice cream). Van Tran a small shop, so they won’t be able to have the selection of a Ranch99 or Hmart, but the things he does carry are the staples. They now have a smart selection of produce(lemon grass, fresh noodles, fish balls, etc…) and several types of frozen fish(tilapia, golden pompano, anchovies, etc…). They also have a variety of baked goods from local Escape, E&S, and New York bakeries too! If I am need of some speciality Oriental foods/ingredients(and not wanting to drive to Haltom or Plano), this place is super convenient and service is awesome. Do yourself a favor and visit Smiling Asian Guy Market! EDIT(5÷4÷2015) Tried one of their shaved ice, ice cream treats and it was amazing! Shaved ice, topped with your choice of toppings(similar to the frozen yogurt places… I went with mango, popping boba, and mochi), and a scoop of ice cream! Another reason to hit up the Smiling Guy!

This place has one of the best selections I have seen in a small market. I am a instant ramen fan. They have so many different flavor sit is hard to decide. To top it off they have a wide selection of frozen fish and meats to go with it. My favorite is a bone marrow ramen with fresh Basil and Vietnamese meatballs. It makes a great lunch at work. I can’t say enough about this place.

Great place to find Asian cuisine that you can’t find at the chain stores. Very clean and very nice staff. Will be returning for sure.

Small and friendly store. I come here to get mint leaves and pomegranates. I love Sprouts but pomegranates there cost $ 2.50 each. They only cost $ 1 each at Van Tran’s. They also had a lot of exotic ice creams in the back freezer. Their ‘Oh Ricey’ instant noodles are also pretty good to make with eggs.

Nice little asian store! It’s clean inside and organized! They don’t sell meats or fresh seafood, veggies — or produce of that sort. They have canned items, sauces, typical stuff you would need to cook with, desserts, and frozen items. In their freezer there’s all kinds of ice creams! — red bean, mochi, coconut, ube,(similar to taro). They also serve shaved ice — it’s a bowl of ice topped with either jellies/fruits drizzled with condensed milk, yum :) now I don’t have to go all the way to Richardson/Carrollton to get it. Also there’s mini seating area outside the store where you can enjoy your dessert you order :) I like this store because it’s really close to my house which makes it super convenient when I need something ASAP.
