I have been here for brunch a few times and never disappointed. The pasta is amazing, and tastes fresh. The mimosas are $ 2 and have more champagne than OJ which is a thumbs up for me! The service is quick and attentive. They have a double mimosa for those like me that finish their mimosas before the server comes back around again. There’s also a tasty frozen Bellini for $ 2. The last time I was there I stayed after and went to the Bar where Clyde was my bartender. He went out of his way to make me a blue cheese martini and it turned out great. One of the best blue cheese martinis I’ve had in a while. Trust me, its harder than you would think to find a good blue cheese martini.

Came here for NYE dinner and had an overall great experience. Service was good, but not overly friendly. We could have used a few more water refills-but it was a busy night. We did not feel rushed, even as we stayed and talked after paying our bill. We had the focaccia bread appetizer, large enough for all 5 of us to share. My boyfriend and I ordered the lasagne & short rib gnocchi. He thought his lasagna portion was on the small side but both dishes were delicious. The short rib in the gnocchi was especially good. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée. A hard caramel layer of sugar sat on top of a creamy, vanilla custard-delish! They have an extensive wine and cocktail list(including after dinner drinks). I had a yummy cocktail called elderflower fizz-with St. Germaine liquor and Prosecco-recommended! Overall and great experience, will return!

A friend and I were being adventurous and ended up in downtown forth worth. We couldn’t decide what to eat so we pulled up Unilocal and found this cute Italian place. Walking in we were definitely underdressed but we were greeted and seated immediately. The waiter was sweet and patient when we just couldn’t decide what to get. I ended up getting the Raviloi from the dinner menu. While we waited he brought out some bread that was cooked in the pizza oven for us to snack on. But there really wasn’t a need, the food came out so quick! It was delicious and the waiter checked up on us often to ask if we needed anything. We also split the Tiramisu for dessert and I wanted to cry it was so good I’m a very picky eater and I would definitely come back if in the area.

After our second visit here we decided this place is legit! The staff is extremely accommodating, Anita and Jesse were our servers and both were fantastic, the manager Massimo is very engaging he is some much fun to talk to. The first visit we had the meatballs for an appetizer they are AMAZING so tender made in house, I had the Veal Marsala, my Wife had the Fiocchi Al Gorgonzola both were excellent Anita served us on the first night she’s top notch. The second visit was Christmas Eve and Jesse made it a memorable evening, we had the Bruschetta, we love the bread they use, the wife had the Spaghetti Carbonara and I had the tenderloin, both were very good. My steak was cooked perfectly, it was a very good steak for the price. We definitely will be returning here often.

Well done, Taverna! The staff really did a great job! Happy Hour is the golden ticket here! Pizzas are half price and a nice offering of reduced beer and wine(house wine is a little harsh but for $ 3 in a downtown restaurant… do-able) Dinner options were average and expectations were high on the pasta dishes but sadly portions were very small and fairly bland — over priced for the quality/quantity. Disappointing and much room for improvement.

Went on a double date and had a very solid dinner. Service was attentive and professional. The seafood soup, cioppino? Was too salty and sent back. All other entrees were extremely tasty and well prepared. Very enjoyable.

Met up with friends here for brunch before heading over to Bass Hall(within walking distance). Loved the location! My husband got the spaghetti carbonara and I got the gnocchi. Both were absolutely incredible, we couldn’t decide which we loved more. For brunch they have mimosas and bellinis for $ 1.84! We each got one, delish. I highly recommend coming here, the atmosphere was upscale without being stuffy and the noise level was perfect, we could carry on a conversation and laugh without disrupting the whole place or making a scene but it wasn’t too loud.

We’ve dined here twice, both times before going to a show at Scat Lounge. Love the atmosphere. The food is fantastic and service was great. Great pizza, steak and wine! Looking forward to our next visit.

I have been here for both brunch and dinner. Both times have been great. Everyone cleaned their plates. The Bellini /mimosa hybrid is stellar and a «must get».

Ehhhh… The entire experience was just alright. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I had the seafood fettuccine(contained mussels, clams, and scallops) and it was very very very VERY bland. I reached for the salt shaker at least 10 times. The artichokes for the app. were good, their house Merlot is good… But there’s better places to eat around this area.

I’ve been here once for dinner and another time for brunch. The time I went to dinner was on New Years Eve, and the experience was much better. The lights were dim with lit candles at every table, which made for a romantic atmosphere. We set reservations for 6 pm, which was apparently early, so we had the restaurant for ourselves. The service was great as a result, and I can’t remember our server’s name, but he made sure we were satisfied with our dishes, even offering to replace my date’s pasta because he didn’t like it. Bread was served with an oil dip before the meal, and the food didn’t take too long to come out. I had the fettuccine frutti di mare, which was a savory pasta that had generous amounts of seafood(scallop, shrimp, mussel, and clam), without being overly oily. We finished up with the nutella cheesecake, which was very sweet. My experience made the New Year one to remember. I don’t recommend going for brunch. They aren’t yet prepared for the day, so the food took a while to get out. We weren’t served bread before our meal, but I guess that’s because 11:00 is too early? The bellini machine was not properly freezing drinks, so my friends had to wait 30 minutes to get their cocktails. The manager said they would be «on him», but they were still charged once their checks came. My Taverna Salad was okay. Mixed within it was cooked vegetables, which made for an odd texture of crunchy and squishy, but I suppose that’s personal preference. The salmon I added to my salad was tender and delicious. I probably wouldn’t come back here for brunch, with how expensive the brunch menu items are, for subpar service. I have to give it three stars for two completely different experiences. Dinner by itself, I would rate at a nice 4 stars. I recommend coming here in the evening for a more worthwhile experience.

Wow! What is up with the waiter? He was bored, short, and definitely not in a customer service mood. We came for a quick dinner. A soup and caesar salad for me. These two were both a disappointment. The salad was not very good. The dressing almost didn’t exist. I don’t want a salad drenched in dressing but I want to taste the dressing. The soup of the day was Seafood soup. Old fish? A couple of pathetic little shrimps? Tons of croutons all soggy and soaked in the broth. Old taste and bland. I can go on and on about both dishes and the waiter. You get it. Bad food. Bad waiter, the place is awesome tough. It looks authentic. Looks good from the outside and definitely looks good inside. Maybe I’ll be back. Simple food. It backfired just simply because they didn’t think its worth the effort? I don’t know. But Im definitely disappointed.

Have had several really good experiences at Taverna, hence the 2 stars instead of 1. Took a bachelorette group here for brunch. Called a week in advance to make reservations and they were happy to take them. Got to the restaurant 10 minutes before our reserved time and had to wait 20 minutes on a table. The hostess seated several walk ins before we were seated(there were 4 of us). The hostess was rude and essentially marched us through the kitchen to our table. Our waiter seemed annoyed that we were there and couldn’t get an order of plain toast correct. The food was decent, but the horrendous service left us with a bad taste in our mouths. I was embarrassed to have told everyone that we were going to an awesome restaurant for brunch. I looked like an idiot!

Pretty underwhelmed by both the food and service. Pizza tasted like it could have benefited from a little more time in the oven(not exactly hot) and the toppings just seemed chintzy for the price(2 pieces had been cut to have no sausage on them at all). Waitress was a bit offish(she may have been a family member)…but not horrible by any means. Overall, I might try it again for something other than pizza, but did not leave the impression that I need to get back to this place in the near future… something between Meh, I have had better, and A-OK probably the right review…

Lively and Fun with plenty of savory bites. This could be the place in downtown Ft. Worth for happy hour. I arrived during happy hour and the place was very busy. A lot of conversations, wine glasses clinking, boisterous laughter and happy faces everywhere. The dining area is large and tables well spaced. I took a seat a the bar and it was comfy as well. Bartender tells me, that apps are half off during happy hour and they have $ 3 wine pours. Well, well, well… I like the sound of half off and $ 3 wine. So… I indulged in 3 appetizers since they were half off. Many would think 2 appetizer would be right, since they are half off, but I am an optimist. Because its half-off, I got to save 3 times the amount when I get 3 apps right. Cos if you got 2 apps, you would not be saving any money, cos 2 apps equal to full price. Right…? You follow? Anyway, it was good, huge, and I was stuffed. The fristo misto was kinda greasy but the meatballs are gooda. The $ 3 merlot was so so. It was worth a try but I did not think it was worth $ 3. Prolly half off 3 bucks and maybe if I have 3 of them it would be better. Wine is always better after the 2nd glass and definitely awesome after the 3 glass. mmmmhmmmmm, you follow?

Stopped in for a light dinner after a brewery tour. Ordered a mussel appetizer«cozze al vino marittima» and a california pizza. The mussels dish was quite good — although it wasn’t the best mussel dish I’ve ever had, I liked the rich and garlicy tomato broth. The acidity of the white wine added a nice dimension of flavor. As an avocado lover, I really enjoyed the california pizza which had a combination of chicken, avocado, cheese, and tomatoes. It tasted like a delicious mix of pico de gallo, guacomole, chicken, and mozzarella. Our server was very attentive and was diligent about refill our water glasses. Bottom line: Service is stellar and the food was pretty good. Would likely return to check out some more pizzas.

This place has an awesome brunch. Our waiter was friendly and the drinks were a good price. The omelet I ordered was amazing. It came with the perfect amount of cheese. I ordered a side of bacon and looks like they just stuck a handful of bacon on the side. I love bacon so when I saw that. I was excited. Great place

It was a beautiful day so a group of friends and I decided to go down to FW around the downtown area. This place has been here forever and for a Fortworthian like me, I feel ashamed that I never made any effort to come here. There is free parking in the garage on Sunday so that was a plus(FW downtown parking is MUCH better than Dallas). We came around noon for brunch and the place was packed. It was around a 20-minute wait so we hung around the bar. 4 mimosas = $ 8. It can’t get any better than that! Although, my sister decided to order orange juice and didn’t realize it was freshly squeezed orange juice. That OJ turned out to be $ 6 so be mindful of what you’re ordering. When we got seated, we started out with beignets as appetizer. Yum yum yum, that was soooo good plus the sweet sauce poured on top. For the main entrée, I had the classic egg benedict with crab meat. I have to say, the plating was not that great and actually plain looking. The taste was also pretty bland and I had to shake some salt onto it which is a very rare thing for me to do. I would give the food 3⁄5. Overall, nice environment to enjoy food with some friends!
