Horrible service! Unless you have a bunch of time to waste so you can get a waiters attention then its all good. Food took forever to get delivered.

I love tacos al pastor and I love to try different places but so far this is the worst one.

Horrible service! I walked up to be greeted by a women by the name of Cecilia(I asked for her name before I left) she never made eye contact with me. My questions where answered with only one or two words. Si, no and mitad y mitad(I asked if the lemonade was from scratch) she still didn’t make eye contact was just fiddling with the computer… I placed my order… And by the way what Mexican place doesn’t have rice? anywho I placed my order and sat down since I was going to eat there. Well she decided it was time for me to go I guess since she packed it up To-go. Great. So I told her it was for here but that it was fine I’ll just take my food. Am never going back. I don’t recommend it.

It’s located in «little Mexico» and one of my good friends loves it so we decided to give it a try. For less than $ 7 we get four tacos –not bad. We got the tacos al pastor which has a lot of flavor. My only complaint was the fact that they didn’t have rice– seriously? They only had beans(not a fan of beans)

I live close by and used to be a regular at this restaurant. It’s the best. There are only a few places that know how to make good tacos al pastor and this one takes the cake. The servers are nice and the food is great and fulfilling. If u ever need to satisfy ur greasy palette with some good ‘ol mexican comfort food u have to come here. They stay open late too which is a bonus. Parking is minimal, but for me it’s no big deal since it’s walking distance. The charro beans are a must order. It’s so good. They give you a lot of meat with ur order too while some other taco places I’ve been to seem to give more tortillas lol. This is on the southside which some can find intimidating but dont let it. Its perfectly safe. I recommend this place. Good people and good food. You can’t go wrong here.

I visited Taqueria San Luis during my lunch break and was looking forward to enjoying what I would consider authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere is casual, and I greatly enjoyed the wall murals and spanish channels playing in the back ground. The only thing I did not really enjoy was the mold growth on the ceiling vent(minus 1.5 stars). We sat down to eat but I would think(and hope) they can provide take-out. If you are intimidated by the amount of culture surrounding you, please do not worry. I think the staff is also great with those whose language is only english and for those of us that are still a little shaky with our spanish and want to try it out here. To start they provide you with chips and salsa(red and green) as well as onions and cilantro.(Cilantro is my weakness… they almost got 1.5 stars back). The red salsa has a good flavor to it as well as the green salsa. The green has a little kick to it(depending on your tolerance it may be more or less, but I thought it was not enough to make me want to guzzle down water or make my nose leak). The salsa comes with spoons in each dish so you can put salsa/cilantro/onions on your street tacos. If you like street tacos(especially tacos al pastor I have heard), this is probably a good place for you to visit(it reminds me of the same experience I had while I was in Mexico). If not well, there is not too much more to choose from(in my opinion). A friend of ours wanted rice instead of beans but they do not offer rice which actually is common if you want to go authentic I think. So if you like sides other than beans this may not be the place for you(just a warning). For a main dish, I was hoping for something like flautas, the equivalent of a pupusa/gordita, or something else that was interesting which I kind of ordered. I ordered a sincronizada but to me the tortilla is what was odd… kinda of tasted like something I could have bought from the store. Other than that, I enjoyed what they put in the sincronizada because I could choose my meat and it included avocado as well as lettuce. Although I forgot… sadly, the chicken did not have much taste. Hence 0.5 star deducted because of the slight lack of variety on the menu and partially the taste of the sincronizada. Other than the food. The wait staff were very friendly, apologetic if something was forgotten and ready to help. I also like the(so called by me) «convenience» sweets available when you are paying. I probably would bring a friend or family member here that likes tacos al pastor but unless they get some other choices and clean up that mold, I probably would choose another place close by to eat.

I gave one star and that’s just because the sodas are cold. Most dissatisfied I have ever been. Tacos tasted like they were from the day before. Less than mediocre over all. Will not be be coming back again.

You know, I have the fondest memories of heading down to Fort Worth specifically for tacos al pastor at San Luis. That was close to ten years ago, and it was this little hole-in-the-wall place without a lot of frills… but man-oh-man, could they make tacos! You’d sit down, get your beans and your toppings and your tacos and just jumble it all together. Every bite was spicy, crunchy, savory — I can’t even describe it. It was with really high expectations that I brought my wife into this San Luis, then. We were in the area, we had skipped lunch, and we walked in right after four. That may have been a mistake: I’ve never worked in a restaurant, but my understanding is that some hours and days are better bets for fresh food than others. If business is slow, meals may sit out. If there’s a huge rush and the kitchen is just barely keeping up with their tickets, you’re more likely to get your order«hot off the grill.» Our food wasn’t «hot off the grill,» unfortunately. Instead of that rich, almost greasy meat I remembered, we got a few thin and dried-out strips. You couldn’t even taste them in the tacos, as they were totally overwhelmed by the other flavors; the onion, lemon, and even the tortillas made more of an impact bite-by-bite. Without a strong showing from the principal ingredient, the tacos fell flat for me and my wife both. It’s possible that we’d have had a better experience coming in closer to dinner. I can’t really recommend a restaurant based on «what-ifs,» though, or even nostalgia. I’m up for giving San Luis another shot, but I’ll try to make the taco rounds before I do.

When I lived in the area I was a regular customer of another location, but this one was good too. The chips were good and the salsa extremely spicy. I had a quesadilla al pastor which was good but not nearly as good as the torta al pastor. I look forward to having taqueria san luis when I am in the Fort Worth area again!
