I am not vegan, but my boss is and this is her favorite spot when she comes to town! I was saving the experience for going with her, since I know she digs it– and maybe i’d know what to order the next time I went in! :) Every last item on the menu is Vegan! You name it, they’ve got it. I was in awe reading the menu, wondering how they cooked up such amazing dishes using not meat or dairy product. They’ve got a vegan version of practically everything and the place smelled awesome upon arrival! I had already eaten so I went for a piece of vegan blueberry cheese cake, since i’ve heard the desserts are amazing, and an iced coffee, almond milk and agave syrup. If I hadn’t known the cheesecake was vegan, I would have never known. Its was creamy, and cool and on a graham cracker crust of sorts. It tasted just like the real deal, and I think I am a hard one to please when it comes to substitutes! The diner itself looks like a classic 50’s diner, complete with swinging door. Trendy art covers the walls, and a cute little hipster waitress took care of us. They place was quiet when we got there around 4, but slammed by 5pm. Its totally a place worth checking out, even if its just to say you ate at a 100% Vegan restaurant!

Everything about Spiral is bomb. Each and every meat eater I’ve taken here has ended up loving it. For real killers, visit the Fort Worth location(my personal favorite, probably just because you never forget your first) and get the nacho cheez, brutal tacos or migas, a good IPA, and finish it off with the house-made ice cream of the month.

Whenever I decide I want to reacquaint my body with the concept of a vegetable, but am feeling too lazy to put anything together at home, I always hit up Spiral. Everything on the menu is vegan — including the alcohol — but I’ve never had the palate for vegan«substitute» food, which is to say, «chik’n» over actual chicken. For those reasons, I usually end up ordering one of their salads. The Big Texas Salad is so far my favorite and literally lives up to it’s name in that it’s enormous. I’ll usually add tofu to it for protein reasons, and then opt for the walnut vinaigrette dressing(I think I could literally drink that stuff, it is so good). I recently tried the Chef Salad(with a portobello mushroom added because I was particularly famished) and the ranch dressing, and was very impressed with how tasty both the cheese and the«bacon» were. The reason I knock a star is because it seems to be a little pricey for what you’re ordering — $ 3.25 just to add a mushroom to my salad? And you have the audacity to mark it as a protein? That’s like… a tad offensive to me. But you know, eating out and all, that’s sometimes just how it goes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Regardless, I still really like Spiral and order out from them frequently when I feel like I need a veggie boost. And, on the opposite side of that spectrum, make sure you try one of their chocolate chip cookies — they are DELICIOUS.

I’ve come here many times and I love it. I can’t say that I’ve loved everything I’ve eaten here but the atmosphere and the fact that they do everything Vegan draws me back in. Liked: Chopped BBQ sandwich, Burgers, nachos Loved: Chai latte, Breakfast quesadilla, pancakes(They make them big and their house-made syrup is awesome, don’t see it on the menu online but last time I thought they had strawberry syrup.) All of their food is flavorful the only thing that makes me say like and not love for those items is that I was hungry soon after and I’m a thin guy. Also not very conducive for a big crowd but if you come when it’s slow they can accommodate. If you’ve never been, come! Cool atmosphere as well as unique and flavorful food. You don’t have to be Vegan to like the food(I’m not.)

My mom and I stumbled across this place yesterday, neither of us being vegan and having never visited a vegan restaurant, we were pretty excited yet had no idea what to expect. Once we sat down after a short wait, we were given our glasses for our drinks. I decided to try out the blueberry soda, which is a literal GIFTFROMGOD. 10⁄10 would reccomend if you’re wondering which of their unique sodas to try. I ended up ordering the Nachos. It was a much bigger portion than I expected, but it was also really really good. The guacamole on top was fantastic, the vegan cheese was very good, and the portion was so large, I had enough to take home with me and eat for dinner. At $ 10, it was also pretty reasonable. I would definitely reccomend this place to anybody and everybody. Vegan or not, I’m sure you’ll like it just as much as I did.

I didn’t know that I would love vegan food so much. This place gave my omnivorous soul a tasty surprise. I had a glass of Badger Mountain White Blend while waiting to be seated. The wine was delicious and had a smooth finish. My meal consisted of the«Ate» Layer Burrito with pasta. It really had that«wow» factor going on. Meat? What meat? I did not miss it all once I started chowing down! I’ll say that I will definitely return to try something new. I also grabbed a bag of Bacon Habnero Chips on the way out, let’s just say that they didn’t make it through the weekend! Happy Eating!

Me and my wife love it here. 100% vegan so we don’t have to ask about ever item on the menu. Service is decent Favorite part is the bakery– red velvet cupcakes all the way I recommend the big kahuna burger with extra pineapple or the bunny bowl. Milkshakes are ! Overall good place, both locations are good . Expect at least a 20 minute wait on the weekends.

I’m a pescetarian(veggies plus seafood), so you’d think I’d be more into this kind of place. My BF is a vegetarian, and even he has admitted recently that it’s not the best for plated meals(stop making me come here, then!)…but he thinks their baked goods are the bomb. I have tried several dishes: spaghetti and meatballs, a sandwich wrap, and an omelet. I am just not a fan. Part of it is that they are completely vegan and I’m a HUGE cheese eater. Like, cheese is a good group in my house. Fake cheese doesn’t count. It’s like the anti-cheese, and I want nothing to do with it. Another part is that the combinations of food are just a bit strange to me. Stop adding green peas in everywhere. And just because yellow peas are a protein and are yellow, doesn’t make them a tasty substitute for eggs in an omelet. I cook plenty of vegetarian food at home, but I think the food I cook is so similar to what non-vegetarians would eat that my brain isn’t constantly trying to figure out what the heck is happening on my plate and in my mouth.(«What’s happening in my mouth?» is not what a girl wants to be thinking EVER, unless Pop Rocks are involved.) Anyway. Safe bet if you have to take out a vegan, I guess.

Consistently good. Only true vegan place in Fort Worth. Not the«healthiest» place but there’s a couple of healthy options. I mean, you didn’t think just because it’s vegan it means it’s healthy right? On Sunday’s it’s the only day they serve biscuits and gravy and the awesome pancakes! I love the breakfast quesadillas — always! I also love the basic VLT and the Bunny Bowl(with bacon as the protein because they make it there). My husband loves the hot hummus wrap. This place will make a meat eater think that maybe they can go a vegan lifestyle! I do wish they had better deals on their mimosas on the weekends, that would be my biggest recommendation. I think they are $ 9 each!

Everything here is seriously so delicious even down to their desserts + Moderately priced menu items! I think things are mostly Less than or equal to $ 15 + Very large portions filled with flavorful food. I think they even make their own ranch sauce! + I had the chipotle salad? and opted for the corn chips. I really want to try all of their other Mexican-inspired dishes + There are parking lot spaces available in the back, which is very convenient for the Magnolia area + It’s right across from Avoca, so you can grab a coffee over there if you’re waiting! — The soda/tea bar was delicious but our server didn’t explain to us that our drinks would cost $ 2.50 extra :(

My first ever all-Vegan restaurant on the outskirts of the downtown Fort Worth area. If there was one dish that I’ll easily try again, it would be the nacho appetizer that is large enough to feed 3 – 4 people as an appetizer. Its pretty standard nacho chips(without salt) that I believe is homemade, along with jalapenos, avocado, pico de gallo salsa, and sour cream & cheese. However, the portion size is(along with price) is what makes this appetizer quite favorable. Plus, it just tastes too damn good! For lunch, I chose a savory setin wrap, which is an avocado, black bean w/Chipotle sauce entrée that comes with your choice of side item. I choose green pasta, which the server mentioned that it is completely vegan. I’ll take her word for that one. The same can be said of the Rahr’s Red bottled beer from the local Rahr’s brewery. The server noted that the beer is vegan, yet I’ll reserve judgment on that one, considering that I’ve had regular Rahr’s brews before at other non-vegan places. Overall, the food is actually quite good, vegan or not. It wasn’t filling at all, yet it didn’t leave you with a craving either. The venue is quite busy on any given day, so expect a bit of a wait(yet not too bad). The place is a bit on the loud side as well, so you’ll have to listen to your server carefully. Parking outside is tough. Don’t be surprised if you have to park a ½ block or couple blocks away to hoof it on foot.

We’ve been to the Dallas location too and I like this one better. The service is much better/friendlier. We came in about a half hour to closing time but they were very nice. They even told us when the last call for desserts would be(since they were closing soon). Super friendly. I was also impressed by how well decorated it was. I love the atmosphere. As for the food, it’s good as always. I got the 7 layer burrito I think? Also took a few desserts to go. Their cupcakes are delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

I LOVELOVELOVELOVE coming here, I really do. I would give it 5 stars… but… well — just read on :) FOOD : Yes I know it’s Vegan. Yes I love bacon. However… I LOVETHEIRFOOD. Everything there tastes amazing. I love their Vegan Bacon Burger — I forgot what it’s called… but it’s absolutely delicious. It is my favorite Bacon Burger I’ve ever had. Plus their Death Star Sundae… Oh my Goodness… it is to die for. Everything I’ve had there is delicious SERVICE : Here is the only reason why this place doesn’t get 5 stars. I’ve come here many times before, and most of the time I get one of the blondes servers. My sister and I dread it when we get her as a server. Mainly because she’s not very attentive and she’s just rude. She’s not very friendly at all. Other than that, this place is my favorite. I would come here everyday and eat if I could.

I rarely eat vegan because it’s oddly hard to find where I live, and I don’t go out of my way to find it. If the menu has vegan options next to non-vegan options, I’m goin’ for the meat. It’s just how I am. However, I also know I’ve been missing out. Spiral Diner definitely proved that to me. I had the Mocha Shake, which tasted just like any other shake except also really delicious. I don’t know what rock I’ve been living under until recently, but coffee milkshakes are a thing and I love them. I also really wanted some frickin’ pie. I love pie, but I rarely eat it because it becomes too easy to argue it’s a health food(It has fruit!). My thighs never agree with that assessment. :(We ordered a slice of the bourbon pecan pie, which was so good. It definitely drier than I expected, but it was so flavorful it didn’t matter. Alyssa K. ordered the hummus with soft tortillas, which it never occurred to me would be good with hummus. Um, it totally is. If you want good vegan food or just good food in general, this is a great place to stop in.

Spiral Diner is really the only vegetarian/vegan place in town, and what’s better, is they actually charge diner-like prices(which is amazing, considering their ingredients). Their chips and dip(guacamole, salsa, and queso) are all really great vegan snackers. Their wraps all have very different tastes sure to please one’s particular craving; their quinoa burgers are very tasty as well. They have a fun, cheap and mostly local beer selection as well as the best vegan desserts around! Their pumpkin bourbon pie is astounding, try it if it’s there! Altogether one of our favorite places in Fort Worth for a relaxing and casual lunch.

Once again Spiral you have blown me away. I’m no vegan, but your food tastes so good that I’m considering converting. While it may be healthier than real dairy and meat indulgences, the caloric intake isn’t lower simply because it’s vegan so be mindful if you are dieting for the new year. If however, you want a meal that will satisfy every freaking tastebud without making you feel as guilty then this is the place for you. It’s a tad pricey, but not unreasonably so especially seeing as they use higher quality ingredients. I love their specials that change often on top of their already lengthy and creative everyday menu(including all day breakfast). They also make a variety of in house baked goods like cookies, cakes, and pies along with numerous i-scream flavors(and a special one each month) sundaes, and shakes. Oh my!!! We started by sharing chips and their super fresh guacamole which was absolutely delicious. For our entrees my husband ordered the Jamaican Jerk BBQ sandwich and I a patty melt. Each comes with a side and that day the choices were apples and oranges, potato salad, chips, or pasta salad. My husband got potato salad while I went for pasta salad because theirs is the best I have ever tasted. OMG I just want a barrel of the stuff! For a perfect ending to our already great lunch, we couldn’t leave without sharing their deathstar sundae for dessert. You guys! I would never be able to guess this dessert had no dairy because it was incredible!!! It’s a house made brownie topped with a couple scoops of vanilla i-scream, a generous amount of whipped cream, and a shot of hot espresso to pour over the top. We literally got in a spoon fight for the last few bites. Have I mentioned I’m not even the biggest fan of chocolate? Yeah, it’s that good. Spiral might just be my favorite restaurant ever. I’m already dreaming of what to order when we return.

My best friend is a vegetarian and I took her here when she was in town. Neither one of us has been a vegan restaurant and we were both excited! We started out with the chip and dip appetizer that came with cashew cheese, guacamole, and salsa. That cashew cheese tasted just like regular queso. It was velvety and creamy… it never thickened up even towards the end of our meal. It was out of this world! I tried the huevos ranchero with corn tortillas and it was very flavorful My friend enjoyed her«BLT» as well. I like how breakfast is served all day and they have a diverse menu which goes above and beyond just salads and vegetables. Burger? Pasta? Tacos? They have it! Would love to try the nachos and dessert next time!

I like me some Spiral Diner. Biggest reason is it’s walkable. Take my dog for a stroll, pick up a «healthy» dinner, and I’m done with part of my nightly chores. Tofu Sannwich is usually my go-to. I also enjoy those nachos. Scrumptious and makes me not miss cheese. I stop here whenever I am tired of Tina’s Cocina or Mamma Mia’s. It lets my bowels know I still love them.

I can’t say that I’ve ever been a fan of calling Fort Worth«Funkytown», as some people do. And the reasons could probably fill a page or two, but when you get down to it, I think we’re generally a pretty subdued town that doesn’t veer off too far from the norm, by and large. Funky just doesn’t seem to apply the way it should if you’re going to go to the trouble of naming yourself that. Spiral Diner has always been a notable exception. A vegetarian-skewing-vegan restaurant thriving in the heart of Cowtown, a mainstay on Magnolia Ave well before Magnolia Ave took off by anyone’s definition, an assortment of Elvises(Elvi?) strewn about — how much funkier can you get? A phrase I’ve often heard about Spiral Diner over the years is «It’s not good vegetarian food, it’s good food, *period*». And I’d have to agree fully. Everything I’ve ever had here, without exception, has been fresh and fantastic. My regular standards over the years have been Bryan’s Brutal Tacos(seitan tacos), Ramsey’s Perfect Protein Platter(quinoa, vegetables, salsa, and greens), and the Hot Hummus Wrap. Service is a bit different than anywhere else(what else would you expect?), but always efficient and friendly. You can also choose from their modestly-sized but carefully curated selection of beers for as low as $ 4 as well, which is something that’s getting harder and harder to find in these parts. Sum it all up, and I think this is really one of the best places in town.

I love the concept of Spiral Diner; its got the greasy spoon feel with vegan, organic diner food! When you walk in, you pass the cash register, with baked goods on display. The dining room has booths and patterned tables that resemble something you’d see in Monk’s Café. There’s a drink bar with a variety of sodas and tea and they also have a selection of beer and wine. It’s a «grab your own refills» kind of place(for non alcoholic beverages), which kind of adds to the«diner» atmosphere. Menus for dietary restrictions are available upon request and they typically ask if there’s an allergy to reduce cross-contamination! I must confess that I am not a vegan but I love Spiral diner’s fresh, organic ingredients. I’ve had their VLT as well as a couple of their breakfast plates(which are served all day; great for breakfast nuts like me). I have also sampled their Philly cheese steak and supreme nachos. All were very fresh and satisfying. Their instagram account makes my mouth water with pictures of their baked goods. I have not enjoyed one yet but will one day when I have not stuffed myself silly. Service is slightly above average. Typically, the wait staff is helpful and knowledgable about the menu but this has not been my experience every visit.

*Tip* They’re going to give you a glass, it’s a self serve soda fountain, so hop on up and get yo’ self a tasty vegan drank. I personally LOVE the watermelon one and if they have prickly pear go for it. ** Wow, I can’t believe I’ve never actually left a review for Spiral Diner. I guess that’s just because I’ve been coming here for years(well before I even knew what Unilocal was, or even existed maybe) and so I probably assumed I’d already done so. Now, this review is 100% bias. I was vegan for 5 years and this was seriously my lifeline to anything that basically didn’t come out of a box. I had a super tiny kitchen and no idea how to cook(I was 13) so my Nana just bought me premade vegan stuff all the time… OR took me to Spiral. We literally came here once a week for years. Moving on! I always get the same thing every time and it makes me super happy to say that they’ve improved their recipe in the past year. I get the«meatball» sub. Why? BECAUSEITISSOGOOD. I have had lots of things, the jerk, the mitch, spaghetti tropica, etc. But this is my main squeeze. So this ooey, gooey, beautiful sub has meatless meatballs that just taste great. Idk if they taste like beef exactly because I kicked beef 3 – 4 years before I even was a vegan. So I honestly can’t remember what it tastes like. But, it doesn’t even MATTER because the«cheese» and red sauce together are just bananas. Like, so freaking good. Die good. Bathe in it in your tub good. They throw in some olives and you can request extras like cashew«parmesan» or similar things. And you should do it. If you’re wanting something bonafide vegan(or like, less imitation meat stuff) then definitely go for the mitch. It’s like, seriously the best tofu sandwich ever. I would get it more often, but it’s fairly messy and I’m like really weird about messy food. :) Moving on to dessert you have some options. On a special day, I will splurge for one of their shakes. They’re awesome if you’re used to the non-dairy taste(I still mostly do almond milk or soymilk, but I do eat/drink dairy otherwise) then you’ll be in heaven. My staple is the chocolate peanut butter shake(not exactly on the menu, but ask for it anyways) with no whipped cream. It’s just like, peanut butter chocolate goodness. But I recently tried their chocolate peanut butter PRETZEL shake and it was AWESOME. Although my friend thought it was grainy and preferred the caramel(i think?) summer special one. Anyways, vegan or not you’re gonna love this place. It’s super quirky and the servers are incredibly polite. There’s books and resources scattered around so it’s a great spot to eat if you’re alone or with friends. Outside is dog friendly and shaded! They also have a small shop at the front where you can get some veggie necessities like vegannaise and t-shirts. ***BUTMOSTIMPORTANTLY! It is called Spiral Diner & Bakery for a reason. At the check out counter you will see a case with cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more. All vegan. All delicious. Especially their peanut butter cups(OKAY I get it I have a problem) which are huge and literally my most favorite thing to eat. It’s just so authentic tasting, will make you quit Reeses.***

No wifi but you can connect to Avoca across the street. So I went in craving for a sundae but you know what I ended up ordering? A green smoothie! I also had a piece of brownie(oops) which was okay. It’s rare I go into somewhere thinking super unhealthy to only come out with a completely healthy option. So for a place to change my mind 180, I think it deserves at least 4 stars. There’s so many scrumptious options here. I would just come here and try a different healthy thing every time and maybe a small dessert. Can’t wait to come back. Lots of shaded outdoor seating. During my visit to DFW I ate lunch at both Spiral locations. I like the vibe of each but the Dallas location is my fave. On a Sunday we had about a 20 minute wait. I ordered the Southern Comfort Breakfast with a side of gravy from the Sunday brunch menu. Since the sausage it comes with is not gluten free the waitress offered me extra scramble and hash browns instead. It was so so but I couldn’t tolerate eating the whole scramble. Drinks are self serve and someone other than our waitress brought the food to the table so we didn’t see our waitress after we ordered but luckily we didn’t need anything else. I was excited to see that they sell Primal vegan jerky upfront by the register so I bought some for my flight home.

Prior to eating here Tuesday night, it has been 6 years since I stepped into Spiral. 6 years ago I was pregnant, miserable, and sick all day every day. Everything I ate wouldn’t stay down(TMI?). The last thing I wanted was to eat at a vegan restaurant! In my pregnant mind, I wanted«real» food. A steak! and a pepsi!(Ha! I laugh now because my tastes and my way of eating has changed alot) So, when a friend took us here to eat, I wasn’t too pleased. However, I remember enjoying every bite of the Spaghetti. I kept telling my husband we need to go back. He agreed, but never went. Mainly because we weren’t sure if the kids would like it. Never thought about going here on a date night either. My daughter doesn’t really like meat or chicken. We decided to give Spiral a try again to see if we have a little vegan on our hands. Well, a pescetarian since she likes eggs and fish. I got the protein platter(black beans and quinoa mixed on lettuce. comes with avocado and tahini sauce). My husband got the spaghetti. The kids got the peanut butter and jelly. The protein platter was fantastic. I loved every bite of it. The husband’s spaghetti was good. I could make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at home right? Not this PB&J. It was delicious. My daughter loved it! For dessert, got the brownie sundae. Yum! I’d eat at Spiral any day. It definitely won’t be 6 years before we return again.
