As if downtown eating wasn’t awkward enough, enter Riverfront Café. Located in the space formerly occupied by RadioShack’s corporate headquarters, and now owned(leased? shared?) by the county college, Riverfront restores the cafeteria concept into consciousness. I’d like to get jazzed up over a real-life cafeteria, but I can’t. Don’t expect any culinary creations. On the positive side, everything I’ve eaten here was edible.

Little known fact: there’s actually a little coffee shop inside the TCC campus(the former radioshack building) that’s open to the public — and by that I mean they will accept your money. And it’s not half bad. You kind of have to walk through the college, pretending like you totally belong there, but once you do, there are people there willing to do what it takes to get you some caffeine and help you get through the morning(or afternoon for that matter). The downside is that if you’re not a TCC student, you can’t access WiFi as near as I can tell, so studying there really isn’t an option if you need to be connected. But just being able to take a look at the campus, grab a coffee, and go is kind of cool if you ask me. It’s a nice building.

Is it completely out of hand to write a positive review on the food service available at work? Well, look at me! I am doing it! The Riverfront Café is awesome. And reasonably priced! They provide a great selection of food: — an action station that serves up something hot and fresh each day(made-to-order personal pizzas one day, fajitas the next, stir-fry, pasta…) — a deli, complete with wraps and a large selection of breads — I recommend ham and turkey on a tomato-basil wrap with swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion, diced bell pepper and a touch of ranch and the best-ever trinity chips on the side — a hot meal line which changes daily but has chicken fried chicken, pork loin, BBQ. It comes with 2 tasty sides and a roll for $ 5.95 — a grill where you can get burgers, cheesesteaks, fajitas, grilled cheese, BLTs, and chicken sandwiches with fries or chips — a soup/salad bar with plenty of toppings They have breakfast, too! They do waffles and omlets cooked-to-order, and a bunch of other stuff, but face it, why consider anything else when they have WAFFLES?! It’s fast, open to the public, and the price is right! And while you’re there, you can even pick up a class or two!
