OOOWWWEEE Wangz N Catfish

If you’re looking for fast food or your average chicken wing, this is not the place for you. Giant, plump wings, deliciously battered strips, and huge catfish filets are what you’ll find in this hidden gem. I’ve been in twice and the customer service was great too. It’s refreshing to be greeted with a smile.

Fish was tasty. Got the 2 pic fish dinner which comes with a salad, fries, 2 pcs of toast, bell pepper and pickles… decent for the costs could help if it came with a drink, but I’m an asshole so blah. Check it out… one of the most decent places to eat in Ft Worth. (Shade thrown? Hell yes!!)

Great customer service. They offer a one flavor of wing and fried catfish. The fries have seasoned salt. This is a southern style place, and even over smoked turkey, sweet potatoes pies, etc. Price is a little steep, but worth it. Wings include flapper and drumstick and are fresh, so you might have to wait 10 – 15 mins. Catfish does not have much if any seasoning, but comes with pickles. Parking is limited at peak times. If your visiting this a original place to come eat.

The wings are definitely the best, with the small salad. I am a fan… However I got the Land & Sea last night and the fish was awfull, it had a very bad fishy smell, like and a bad taste, I was not able to eat that, but the two wings on the plate were great as always… I think since it was close to closing, I may have gotten some bad fish, since it was closing time, and being that it was carry out, they were closed when I got home…

The wings and catfish were good but took a very long time to get the food. Not many people eating in the restaurant. Lots of to go orders. Very nice staff working there and assume was the family that owned it. The sauce was interesting. Not buffalo like I assumed. It’s like a honey sauce that isn’t spicy but makes your nose run just enough. Tarter sauce was really really good.

woweeee. good, fresh food, made with Love. What is that intoxication flavor in the wing sauce? Mango? Plum? They will tell you it’s a secret. Matt there says it is «Love» and I don’t doubt it.
If anyone identify their wangz sauce flavor. Let me know please.

First time ordering –I placed my online order at 7:02pm and it was ready at 7:59pm. Most if he customers in there had clearly been waiting a long time also but were used to it. I was really excited from the high Unilocal reviews but should have taken the repeated «too sweet» reviews more seriously. I’m more into wings with tasty complex dry rubs or tangy and spicy marinades. The «to go» box had fries on the bottom soaked with the sweet OOOWWWEEE sauce all over it which made them soggy and inedible. The do not separate the wing parts like most places do which makes it difficult to handle. They are generous with that sweet but otherwise unimpressive sauce. If this one flavor of wings is your thing you’re in for a treat. If not keep looking. Wasn’t worth the wait.

Good food cooked fresh. I had the Land & Sea Combo. Three wings w/​sauce, two catfish fillets, fries, and I forget what all else. The wings are a decent size and include the flapper and the drum. The wing sauce is distinctly sweet, with a LITTLE bit of a kick. There’s enough spice to be a nice balance /​contrast to the sweetness. The catfish probably could’ve used a little more kick. (Salt & pepper shakers on the table would’ve been nice, too, so I could’ve kicked it up a little on my own, without the Louisiana Hot Sauce.) Especially with the catfish coming with the wings, the catfish ended up tasting a little bland. It was GOOD, but the flavor didn’t stand up well to the wings. Everything else was «good, not great.»
When I was there, it was nice & clean. The seating area looked professionally done, almost like a franchise. (I’m not sure if it is or not, it just has that «look» to it.) You walk up to the counter, place your order, go to a table, and wait. There were no fountain drinks when I was there. Bottles for colas or styrofoam for tea. I think that was it as far as beverages go.
The pull-​down metal gates on the exterior made me a LITTLE concerned about being there later in the evening, but I experienced no issues, inside or out when I was there.
It did take a while for the food to come out, but you could sure tell it was all FRESHLY COOKED! VERY hot!
Would I go back? Sure, if I were in the area. I doubt I’d make a trip across town for it, though. If I go back, I may try just the wings and see how they do on their own. :)

A co-​worker told me about this place and it did not disappoint. I went last night and today!!! It’s great fried perfection and the staff is very friendly and personable. They make you feel like you are sitting down to dinner in their home. Everything is always fresh and made to order so its nice and hot when you get it. Great business plan of catfish and chicken. You can’t go wrong with either item in this place. On both visits the «Land and Sea» menu item which gives chicken wangz, catfish, fries and a fresh small salad. De-​lish!

They only have one flavor of wing. It’s good but different and it’s a preferred taste and it’s not mine. I’m not much a sweeter wing person. It reminds me of a sweeter carribean jerk. Everything was great. Nice place and people and clean. My husband loved it and I want to go back and try the catfish since I’m not big on that flavor. I hear great things.

My mom came home with chicken wings and catfish and I immediately knew it was from this place even though I hadn’t been here.
The chicken wings were way way way WAY WAY WAY too sweet. The best thing I can compare the sauce they put on their wings to is the orange chicken from panda express, which I hate.
The catfish was goooooooooood. Will be back for that.

OOOWWWEEE, can’t think of a more fitting name for such an amazing restaurant. The blend that goes in the batter is out of this world. The chicken is juicy, well seasoned, but not overly greasy. The staff and regulars are always so friendly and welcoming. I’ve made weekly trips ever since I found this gem with my coworkers for what we like to call OOOWWWEEE Wednesdays. Best chicken and catfish on this side of town by far!

Well went today says open from 12 – 4 went there shut down so first review not good because they are not open as advertised especially when you drive across two. Just to try something new !!!

Matt is just awesome and genuine. Food is just amazing down to the bone. He takes his time and makes sure it’s cooked to perfection. If you are looking for some awesome comfort food trust me you won’t leave disappointed. It’s very flavorful and extremely filling. The sauce is just what can I say yum and it is definitely original. Help support local businesses you need to give this place a try.

Okay let’s start off with service, the guy behind the counter OMG such a awesome friendly guy! Seriously, I haven’t had service like that in a loooong time! Okay now food, hands down THE best chicken strips and fish sandwich I’ve ever had!!! And my standards are high I’m not goin to lie… OH AND LOVED THERE SPECIAL SAUCE MMMMMMM… I was hesitant going in this itty bitty restaurant but now I will be coming back for more! Oh and the lemonade is BOMB###!!!

Great spot for Catfish. As soon as I walked in there was a guy at the register with a beautiful smile greeting me. Their catfish is hearty, full but flaky and perfectly fried. They only have crinkle cut fries for a side and they were about average. The catfish more than made up for them.

Best wings I’ve tried so far! Not like your typical Buffalo Wild Wings or Wingstop. They honestly do not make the wings until you order it. The wait is only about 15 minutes. We got the 4 piece wing basket and it fills you up! These are full size wings that are juicy, tender, and full of flavor. You have two options with the sauce: the ooowwweee or naked.
It’s a small local business located in ft worth but it’s very clean and has great service! The environment is super friendly as well.
