Beware if you are talked into a eyeglass warranty! We were told the extended warranty was good for one year on lenses and two years on frames. What we were not told, however, is that the lens warranty isn’t based on the date you purchase your glasses. The lens warranty is based on the date your optical prescription is written. Typically, your prescription is good for one year. If you decide to purchase glasses several weeks or months after your prescription is written, your«warranty» will only be good for the remaining months left on your optical prescription. Unfortunately, we were never given any warranty paperwork. When we inquired about replacing scratched lenses with new lenses within a year of purchasing eyeglasses, we were told that the prescription had expired a couple of weeks ago! Based on Texas law, we were not able to get new lenses without a new prescription … with which, we will have to PURCHASE a new set of lenses! Shame on the Optical Center for withholding this information at the time we purchased our warranty. Lesson learned … GETITINWRITING!
