We went tonight and John was our waiter. He was pretty awesome! He was helpful and kept checking on us. We had 3 kids with us and made sure they were comfortable too. Paola the bartender makes the best drinks ever! The frogaritos are awesome! I ordered the sampler and Washington not disappointed! It was huge!!! That are not stingy with the cheese or other condiments that come with the nachos. My kids ordered the Mexican pizza and chili cheese fries were huge for the price. Food is great drink are great. Will return!!!

I am really sad to give such a low ranking of this restuarant. Their food is probably the best Mexican food around with today being no exception. However, today my husband and I were seated in a booth that could be hard to see if you aren’t paying attention. After we were seated, it took 6 – 7 minutes before the young lady who seated returned to check on us to see if we had been helped. We had not. We had received the complimentary chips and salsa but that was it. So, she proceeded to take our orders. We waited nearly 30 minutes before a different guy, I kind of got the feeling he was the manager on duty, brought us our dinner. One of the orders was wrong and by this time we just told him to forget it. We were tired of feeling up on chips and salsa. We are a few bites in and realized we had eaten too much of the chips and salsa. My husband had to get the attention of someone passing to bring us to go boxes. It then took another 5 – 6 minutes before our«waitress» came to ask if we were finished and wanted our check which we clearly did because our food was boxed and we were just sitting there. She brought our check and then disappeared again. I say«waitress» because she may have taken the order but she never returned to check on us. Other employees took turns helping to check on our table. We literally never saw the same person twice except for the girl who took our orders and then brought us our check so I guess she was the waitress. I come here with my coworkers at least 2 – 3 times a month and it’s one of our favorites so I am hoping that today was an anomaly. My husband who usually takes bad service in stride even commented on how bad the service was today, so I know it was not just me.

Great margaritas for happy hour. The food was average Mexican food but the service was good.

Greasiest food I’ve ever had.(see photo) Service was not good. Waitress never bothered to ask how it was. The squash/zucchini was good but a bit salty. The thing with the t-shirt(see tip) really didn’t help. Sorry, but I won’t be back.

The stuffed avocado dish is wonderful if you enjoy eating a long strand of someone’s HAIR. Enough said.

BEST margaritas. This is coming from a gal who really doesn’t enjoy tequila, even in margarita form. There’s something about them, they aren’t as sugary or something and they won’t upset your stomach. As for the food, meh. I really wanted to like this place because the vibes are great and the patio and location are both lovely, but it just didn’t do it for me. Bland, greasy, slightly overpriced. I’d recommend coming in for chips/salsa/queso and pairing that with their house drinks. Fun place, just skip the food!

I brought my husband here to have a margarita on his birthday. The place wasn’t crowded, but there were only two servers and 7 tables full of people. Even so, we were more than adequately taken care of by the staff. Since we arrived at 6:15pm, it was within their happy hour time, so the house margaritas were $ 3.95. We each ordered a frozen house margarita, and I thought that they were going to be these little bitty things that you sometimes get at other happy hours. To our surprise, they were regular sized margarita glasses! And they were so good! Props to the bartender and the owner for giving such a good special on their delicious margaritas. Since we only ordered one margarita apiece, I fully expected to have the server drop off our Ritas & disappear, never to be heard from again. However, he brought us fresh chips & salsa(which he replenished during our stay) and a glass of water for each of us. He also came back every so often to check on us. We only came to Los Vaqueros because Fuzzy’s was having technical problems & thus were closed. But I’m very happy we did, because now I will be back to sample their food, overjoyed to know that their service is on par.

Love this place. Food is great. My goto is the cheese and onion enchiladas. Or if you are there for brunch, the stacked enchiladas with an egg on top is out of site! Wait staff is always friendly and attentive!

Sentimental trip to Fort Worth and looking for tex-mex, found this place which made me very happy. My daughter had a frogarita, and I had a Modelo especial… good to find. Food was really good and what we were looking for. She had the chile poblano and thought the rancheria(?) beans were sublime, as well as the rice and chile. I had chicken enchilada with rice and refried beans — my go-to«young person» memory. Excellent stuff. Yes, chips were a bit lightweight and salsa, but it was just what I was looking for. I live in a food heaven place(SF Bay Area) and I appreciate that a type of food/restauranteur is aiming for authenticity. They could make home-made chips, and that would be a step up, but my daughter and I were tickled. Service was also friendly and good. It was about 6:30 p.m. on a Thursday night. Loved Berry Street, too, — tho way different from my old Paschal days.

I love the indoor/outdoor patio with TVs and cold drinks. The service has always been great and never had an issue finding parking.

I always order delivery… delivery times range from 15 to 25 minutes! Excellent fo-od for good prices… the chile rellenos are great, so are the fajitas. For lighter fare the Alcupulco salad is good too! Michael, the owner, is friendly and devoted to making his restaurant the best! I haven’t had the chance to eat in yet but if my experience with good delivery service is proof than it should be a good experience!

Good service, great food, amazing margaritas. The chips were a little stale and the queso is mediocre but everything else was really yummy. Had queso, frogerita(yum), fajitas. We will be back!

This was my first time back at Los Vaqueros since it moved to the Cockrell ave location. While I may return for the food, the horrible service is just not worth coming back for. Being virtually ignored the entire meal was frustrating. The food is good, but there are much better Mexican restaurants in Fort Worth with much better service.

A few years ago, back when this place was located at the bottom of the GrandMarc apartments it was amazing. I went on a Friday night and the restaurant was pretty much empty. Needless to say it did not live up to it’s reputation. The«Frogarita» was watered down and tasted like cough syrup. The service was very slow– we waited nearly two hours for our food and drinks. I had the Shrimp Diablo. The shrimp was mushy, soft and not fresh. The rice and beans were bland and the chips were greasy. I want SO badly to love this place like I used to but I was completely disappointed with both the food and service. I just can’t give this location another chance.

Great service, friendly, sweet people. Good place to watch a game. They have some good beers like Santo by St. Arnold(my fav), but I had a marg on the rocks. Very good. The stuffed avocado filled with their«almost famous» chicken salad” was excellent. 5 stars based on my one and only experience so far.

The best way to describe it is «safe.» If you’re looking for a place to take Great-aunt Agnes from Illinois, then it’s a pretty«safe» choice. More dedicated Tex-Mex lovers will be disappointed with the fairly bland menu. The salsa was fresh but everything else seemed heavy and under-spiced. Gotta say, though, the after-church crowd filled the place up before we left, so it does have its fans.

My wife and I returned to the Cockrell Ave. location this evening and it didn’t seem up to par. The food was much better on our previous visit. I had the Alanna’s Special which consisted of 3 chalupas, one each chili con queso, guacamole, and bean with lettuce and tomatoes. The main complaint was the chalupas were very thin and didn’t hold up with the ingredients on them. My wife had the chicken quesadillas. My wife said they were pretty good with the fajita chicken meat in them. The chips and hot sauce were good. I would have preferred a spicier salsa, but you’ve got to cater to the general taste. Service was very prompt and attentive by our server. Overall it wasn’t a bad visit, just not what it was the last time time we were there. Lastly, we both felt the menu prices were a little steep for what what we received and compared to similar TexMex restaurants.

I want to like this place so badly. I enjoy the queso and the rice, but the main entrée meals just aren’t that great. I had the flautas, they were burnt and super dry with no flavor.
