Best barbacoa and tamales in town! Fresh corn tortillas and masa. Great family owned and operated small hidden gem in the Northside. Hand full of tables if you want to eat there or you can pick up and let family think you just became the best cook in town lol.

Best tamales ever; especially fresh. Love their hot sauce they sell, I prefer the red but the green is spicier. I preferred the chicken over the pork, haven’t tried the original yet but i plan on trying that next time. I cannot wait to get some again!

The food here is delicious even their masa and tacos are made inside are divine… just be aware this is a «mom and pop hole in a wal»…it can be a rough area for some and the heavy speeding traffic is something to watch out for!

The Possums love Mom & Pop Tex-Mex places, and this one was about the Mommiest &Poppiest you could imagine, down to the kid doing his homework on a laptop.(He was using Google Maps for the first time. It was fun to watch.) There was a definite family atmosphere here. We’ve bought Ibarra’s tortillas in the supermarket for years, very high quality. We dropped in here based on the name. You can buy fresh made tortillas, in fact you can see them making the products through the kitchen window. A man came by to pick up his very large order of bags of masa, and Mrs Possum wanted to follow him home. She’s a sucker for a good tamale, and a guy hauling out that much masa must know what he’s doing. This location has a small menu of breakfast plates and lunch specials. Nothing frilly about the service or the presentation, but super good and filling. Fresh salsa was quite tasty. (We haven’t tried the large selection of Mexican pastries yet. But we will. Trust and believe, we will.)
