This was my first time at a Hyenas comedy club. I’ve always gone to The Improv. We had trouble finding parking and were running a bit behind, but when we called to notify them, they were very understanding and reassured us that our reservations would still be honored. Getting in and seated was a fairly smooth process as well. I was pretty impressed by the layout of the room it didn’t seem like there was a bad view in the place. Service was fast and all the drinks we ordered were tasty and potent. Prices were as expected $ 7 – 10 for drinks around $ 10 ish or less for food. I got the chicken tender basket and had it tossed in buffalo sauce. To my surprise it was really good and the tenders were huge. I had low expectations since it’s not a real restaurant but I was very satisfied. Wasn’t a fan of how the checks were presented. It was all hand written and not itemized, with the total circled on the back. I did my own math and noticed there was a noticeable difference in totals. When I asked our server she informed us of a gratuity charge being included. Didn’t mind the extra charge just not a fan of not knowing what I’m being charged for. All in all the comedians weren’t that funny but food, drinks, and service were great. Hoping next time I come back I’ll get a good laugh in addition to a good experience.

Hyena’s is always fun. We win free tickets pretty often so we go an average of 2 – 3 times a year. They have recently begun to renovate so there seems to be a bit more room now. The performers are always really funny and I nearly cry from laughing each time. The service is decent. I like how there are plenty of options on the menu for those who are not drinking alcohol. With the free tickets a VIP upgrade is only $ 5, and I don’t mind the two item minimum, they have to stay in business, after all. Once in a while someone gets drunk and starts to heckle but management shuts them down pretty quickly. Fun karaōke ensues after each show. I have no complaints, fun for a night out with friends!

I realize that with a comedy club, the performers that evening can definitely affect your experience. That being said, Todd Larson and CJ Starr on Jan 1, 2016 were both hilarious. I haven’t laughed like that in a very long time. Check in for the show was easy and the opener for the club was pretty amusing as well. We paid $ 17 each for preferred seating with a minimum of 2 drinks per person. My only negative for the evening was that the bar wasn’t very impressive. They claim a full bar, but do yourself a favor and don’t stray from your mainstay drinks. The hurricane and holiday egg nog, were both not very good. However if you tell the bartender, Jameson and ginger ale or Captain and coke, that’s pretty much fool proof and you’ll be satisfied. Regardless, I’m going here for laughs, not quality drinks and Hyenas delivers that(at least the night we attended). We didn’t stay to check it out, but it also looked like the karaōke bar was quite a riot(you exit by walking through the karaōke bar). I hope future visits provide quality entertainment like our first trip.

We went to the Fort Worth location. We have been there a couple times and you just never know what you will get for comedians. They had a 10 year old girl as the MC when we went. Yes, 10 years old. We were all very disappointed in the comedy club for doing that. The girl is way too young to be in an environment like that. The acts that night were guys that were full of really raunchy jokes. Having the young girl as the MC was just very very bad. That girl never should have been there. If this was a school event it is one thing but in an adult comedy club to have a 10 year old hosting? I just don’t get it.

I’ve been to this hyenas location now twice. Oh wow! They have made some renovations here. The first time I was here the restrooms where in the creepy side of the building, now it’s been redone and not scary anymore. It’s really nice the have the other room with a bar and karaōke. It’s always a trek for us to come here but with the other room to hangout we don’t just come here see he comedy for about an hour and head back to Plano. We have a reason to stay and spend more time in downtown Fort Worth. We will definitely come back to see local and well know acts. Hyenas is really a fun place!

Went here to finish the night of a surprise birthday party. I made a mistake with a ticket purchase and felt horrible about it. The guys at the the front went above and beyond to get things back to normal and to help us all stay together. We enjoyed the show a great deal, and the drinks were served in a very timely, professional way especially considering the crowd. Enjoyed the intimate atmosphere, which was clean and well vented, and with nice acoustics. Of all of that though, the fifth star comes strictly from customer service at the front end. Thanks, Hyena’s in Ft. Worth for making it such a memorable night for such a special person. All hail the Hyena.

We had a really great time here last night however the service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress came around at the end of the first act which was okay because I could tell she was busy with a large section. We finished our drinks pretty quickly and would have loved another but she didn’t come back until the end of the show to tell us it was last call if we wanted anything. I would have enjoyed a few more cocktails throughout out the show but yes we would need another drink to meet the minimum.

The staff is extremely rude here. They want you to sit in a specific area, which we didn’t know at first. We walked over to an open table and got yelled at(literally yelled at). All they had to do was nicely let us know we needed to sit in the lower area. They make you pack in tightly to the point where it uncomfortable. I’ve been to other places that were way more laid back and knew what customer service was. Won’t be back here.

The location of this comedy club is great; downtown, next to The Cheesecake Factory, and so close to Sundance Square. While we were here, June 2015, there was a ton of construction going on… beware of that. Paint fumes are flowing! There is a «waiting» bar area before you go in to the show itself, which is nice but very intimate. Not a good space if you have 4 or more people meeting up. If you ask for a menu, you’ll more than likely get one, as long as the kitchen is ready for orders. The menu is small, but very good! The French fries are amazing. The show room is small and dark. The only complaint I have about this is the drink minimum. There’s a 2 drink minimum for each person. Not per group, but per person. Example: I had 1 drink with a water and my husband had 1 drink with a water. When we got our check, we were both charged $ 3 for our glasses of water, since we didn’t meet the two drink minimum. Overall, I’m sure we’ll return since the location is so convenient, but we will make sure to drink either before or after…

Came here last night to see Latasha Leggero, she was great! We always have fun when we come here. I think I would give it 5 stars if the drinks weren’t so pricey, but hey I’m trying to get drunk so it didn’t stop me! Def get there early to get in line so you aren’t waiting outside. If you are going with a large group, make sure everyone is there on time so you can sit together because you can’t save seats! Be sure to fill out the little cards on the table, that’s how you get free tickets in your email. They send 20 at a time and then you just call and reserve how many you want to use that weekend. Good headliners always sell out so call early! I believe without tickets it’s $ 10 to get in and with the free tickets you can pay $ 5 more for preferred seating aka close to the stage where you might get picked on! All seats are pretty good so we never pay extra. There is a 2 item minimum per person inside, which is easy to do and I get it since they give free tickets. I hope they keep bringing in people we have heard of, it’s just so fun!

Wow… Sorry we asked about our drinks 20 min into the show but why would you turn that around on us and be extremely rude?! How am I supposed to reach my 2 drink minimum when there are no drinks at the table… NEVERAGAIN

Your typical comedy night club… cannot complain as we got free tickets, paid $ 5 to upgrade to floor seating at tables… come as a four-some…you get to sit to gether at your own table… Two drink minimum at reasonable prices… one guy was a little raw, the pre-headliner act was great as was the headliner… GO!

Hyenas is a great comedy club. It’s not high class or fancy whatsoever however it serves the purpose you came for… To laugh! I personally have come here many times… Most comedians that come through are great! We watched Robert Hawkins tonight and I couldn’t stop laughing. He is hilarious! Definitely recommend seeing him while he is here. I will say that if you sign up for their email club you can win free tickets. I just won tickets this week and so friday was free for us minus the two drink minimum you have to purchase per person. Still cheap entertainment though.

Great service for a comedy club. They usually aren’t known for service ;) The food was basic fried bar food but tasted ok. Crowded but you were not smashed up against people you don’t know.

Hyena’s in Fort Worth is a great place to see a standup comedy act. The place is not real big which is good because there are no bad seats. You get seated at small tables that fit 4 so you may have to share a table. But if you go during the week they are not very crowed and you sit where you want. If you sit up front you may get picked on by the comic. If you sign up on the email list you will get free tickets to see the shows. Sometime you get free tickets to see a pretty famous act. The only catch for the free tickets is you have to buy 2 drinks. Which are a good deal the prices are good and a decent selection of drinks. You can also get some bar food if you want. The place is nonsmoking which is good. You don’t smell like an ashtray after you leave.

I had not been to Hyena’s in Fort Worth in about 10 years. It was much better than I remember. The new showroom is non smoking. Which is nice because it smells much better than it used to. Albeit, I used to smoke, and still use and E-Cigarette. But it was definitely nicer in there. The«waiting area» to get into the show room is still smoking friendly, but its not too bad since there arent tons of people smoking in there usually. We saw Justin Ybarra. He was hilarious. The wait staff was really good. I actually got more drinks than I was planning on because my waitress was always making sure if we were good. Prices are a little higher than a Bar, but they are not horrible. I paid 7.75 for a decent Margarita with 1800 and Grand Marnier. The food is priced normally for apps at most restaurants. Tickets are usually $ 10 per person, but if you fill out the little slip on the table, youll get emails for free tickets every so often. Makes it cheaper to go. They still have a 2 Item minimum though. But over all, Hyena’s is good for your stand up fix in the Fort Worth.

Hold out for someone you know you’ll enjoy. When we’ve gone to see comedians that we liked, it been great. But that’s the comedian, not the venue. I know clubs can get crowded, but if your sitting lose to the stage, it is really cramped. I never really liked the signature drinks either, and I wasn’t impressed with the standard cocktails. All in all, not a venue I thought was great, but I will go back whenever they book someone I like.

First off, if you don’t know what your looking for you aren’t going to find it. It says Lonestar real big on top and below In small print it says comedy and Queen City Music Hall, or Club something like that… Here’s the deal, it’s like $ 10 per person to get in. $ 15 if you want preferred seating. What’s preferred seating you ask, well you stand in a different line and get seated first. My opinion is you don’t need it. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house. If you get there the 30 minutes before the show starts you’ll obviously get a closer seat with a table and chairs. If you are like we are and get there right at show time you’ll get the far table at the back and sit on a bar stool. Your experience will depend on the comics & your service, in our case the comics were great but service was extremely slow. I got my 2nd drink 2 minutes before the show ended. I recommend going online and giving your email, we got free tickets this way. There is a 2 drink minimum per person and the room is non smoking, however the bar area you wait in for those 30 minutes is not. Beers run about $ 6, martinis run about $ 9. Considering the admission price is the same as a movie i’d go, but look online ahead of time to see which comics are coming.

Attended a private event at Hyenas for Mom’s weekend. A 6:00 comedy show with our all female audience(moms and college daughters) and three male comedians is a tough act! All I can say is that the venue should prepare the comedians in advance, as the material they choose could make or break the show. The first two acts were not funny, not appropriate to the audience and flat out bad. The headliner, Michael Moran(I think that’s his name), was awesome. I’d love to see him perform to a regular/mixed Saturday night crowd, as I think he’d be even funnier. The venue was nice, but the drinks were awful — how do you mess up a whiskey sour and a jack and coke? They added a 20% gratuity, which is expected for large groups, but our server gave us a long-winded explanation that the gratuity was split between kitchen staff, bar staff and the servers and that she really wouldn’t see much of it! That was more information than I cared to know; I usually tip above the added amount anyway, but not when you whine about it!

I’ve been here twice, I will say the comedians were pretty entertaining and the price was right(I sign up for the emails so I frequently get a password for free cover you just have to order two items while at the show). BUT I hated the long lines, it sucks waiting and waiting around and if you don’t get there early then you get shitty seats! We did all have a good time dispite waiting in long lines so we will deff go again.
