To me, the stand out of the meal was the french fries. Fresh-cut, nicely fried. Firm, but not overdone. The burger, unfortunately, seemed a bit lacking next to the great fries. The restaurant is on a bit of a side street, tucked in between other businesses(not restaurants). So, I drove by it the first time before I realized«THERE it is!» Well decorated, well kept/maintained, friendly staff, quick service. But, with a name like«Greasy Bend Burgers,» I was expecting a burger with more … grease … or at least more flavor. Would I go back? Yeah, maybe so, if I were in the area. I doubt I’d make a special trip, though.

Came here for lunch because I was craving a hamburger and this was my second choice. Greasy Bend was recommended by a coworker, and I was not disappointed. The inside seating total is 18, with 2 tables that seat 4, and 5 that fit 2. With a table on the porch. The guys that were working were quick to clean tables. So even though the dining area was small, it was kept well and clean. The hamburger was good, well done but not dry. And not greasy as the business name would have you believe. Plus they serve fresh cut fries and we noticed nothing precooked. I got chili on mine and it was just enough to give it flavor but not enough to be overly messy. Next time this will be my first choice.

Really good burgers here! My favorite burger place so far. The fries here are kind of stale and strange-ish though. I still eat them just fine, but they’re a little soggy and different. 5⁄5 for burgers, 2⁄5 for fries

Great fries, fresh cut with the skin on the end, had a great season salt to put on. Good burger(not great) cooked up fresh when you order. Buns toasted on the grill with butter. It could have been a touch cooler in the dining area(105 degrees outside) fresh tomato and lettuce. The price for what you get was amazing 6.75 for a combo??? You can barely pay the at Wendy’s(gross) I would say this place is a neighborhood gem that you could swing in for good food and not pay an arm and a leg. This place should do well.

Unilocal, you led me astray here with a 4 star review. How the heck can this place get a rating on par with Rodeo Goat, Dutch’s or the like? It’s nowhere close to that level of burger. If you’ve had a burger from Sonic, then you’ve had a burger from here. Seriously. It’s the same thin meat and bun. You may dig the fries from this place as they are fresh cut. But mine weren’t salted and it was rather a let down. If you were to put this place in a fight to the death tournament between burger joints, it would be out in the first round. I hate to be a debbie-downer for a local business. But there isn’t anything special about this place. It’s a greasy spoon join with a cheap burger and fries. Also, I got there at 6:45p and they close at 7p. They had already locked the door and turned off the open sign. They were kind enough to let me in, but then suggested I get it to go. We would have all been better off had they left the door locked.

All you nay Sayers must have something wrong with you… my wife and I have been to Greasy Bend 8 – 10 times now and absolutely love it! I’ve been the rodeo goat way(when the old chef was there) and will put my money on these burgers any day. I’m pretty fat, just shy of a ton… I know my burgers; and I know them well! A delicious double meat, double cheese with grilled onions?!? If hat doesn’t make you slap your mother, you clearly eat at McDonald’s. The owners are fantastic and always make you feel at home when you are there! I sure hope you guys keep it up, as long as you do… we will be there eating the most delicious burger in Fort Worth! Oh and p. s. Fries are always on point, never soggy. Throw some of their seasoned salt on top and devour!

This was a great burger! The fries were amazing! I couldn’t stop eating them! The seasoned salt added so much! I love grilled buns so that was a nice treat! I will definitely be going back!

I kinda like the location of this place as it reminds me of the town I’m from. Away from the busy streets and blended in next to a barber shop, I can feel that this little burger place will do great things. I spoke with the owner who told me that they’ve been open for about 18 months, which is surprisingly because the restaurant has an old feel to it. Why the 3 stars? The burger was decent, but I left feeling a little unsatisfied. I wasn’t expecting gourmet burger and actually prefer simple ones, but there was just something I can’t really pinpoint that felt like it was missing. Perhaps it was because my cheese wasn’t melted and that combined with the shredded lettuce and tomatoes made my already thin patty a little cool. It almost felt like I was eating a sandwich rather than a hot burger. I’ll make sure to get the double or the ½ lb next time. The fries were soggy, not one fry crunchy. Great, friendly staff, good sweet tea and a wonderful bargain. Come here anyway and give it a whirl.

Why Greasy Bend? It’s not the most appealing name for a restaurant. But, thankfully, this place isn’t named after its burgers; the food here is not greasy. The burgers are hot, fresh and served on toasted buns. The fries are first rate. All the food is served in a paper bag like Five Guys(although I wish dine-in orders came on plates). I agree with others that the patty should be a bit thicker. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. So, what’s with the name? Greasy Bend was the name pioneers gave this area northeast of downtown Fort Worth. Luckily, developers had the good sense to rename the area Riverside and Oakhurst. Whatever you call the neighborhood, the burgers here are worth a try.

I stopped in here on a whim, and even though they had changed their hours of operation(closed in the middle of the day) and were in the middle of recording a commercial… bless their hearts, they made me a hamburger anyway. Oh My Lord, that was one of the best hamburgers I have had in I don’t know when. It reminded me of summer afternoons at Caudles’ Drive-In in 1965. This is one of those old-fashioned businesses we need to encourage in Fort Worth. Give ‘em your business. You won’t be sorry.

Lizzy and I ate at Greasy Bend Burgers today. Got there around 2:00 during the week. George(the owner) promptly took our order. Great old school Burger. Meat is spot on… all Beef cooked perfect. Gotta get the fries too. All of it is fresh, fresh, fresh. I rate this place up there with the big boys in town. Yes, George we will be back! Soon! Hard to find simple and good quality and they do it here. Small eating area but that just adds to the«Hole in the wall feel»

This place was everything I expected! Good burger. Fresh vegetables and good meat! I’m a little weird about my meat and I didn’t get one ify bite! The patty was thin like I like. Grilled onions and fresh jalapeños were very tasty. The customer service was great. Very friendly ladies :) I will be back. And so will my mom and grandma.

This place is in an older storefront, next to a little barbershop. Pulling up it looks like it could be pretty divey(because of the neighborhood more than the place itself), but it’s actually pretty cute and clean inside. It’s small, locally owned, and the few guys who came in looked like they didn’t come far. Older, hungover guys from the neighborhood. And they are right. It’s great Hangover food, if that’s what you’re looking for. I’ve been looking for a good, thin burger, cooked on a griddle, with crispy edges, and my friend and I found it here. Big, thin burger, on a big, griddle-toasted bun. The bun was nice and soft(except for the yummy, toasty bits). I ordered bacon, avocado, grilled onions, mustard and lettuce on mine. The bacon was reasonably thick. They aren’t skimping and buying the cheap stuff. The generous avocado slices were perfectly ripe. The lettuce was chopped iceberg(bleh.) The onions were chopped pretty small, greasy, and well-grilled. I ordered a hamburger, but mine came with cheese, which I wasn’t really happy about, but I didn’t want to take it back. My stomach will tell me about it later. :/My friend also asked for avocado but no cheese, and he got avocado AND cheese. The fries, which I think they make fresh, are not mind-blowing, but the were respectable, and hot when we got them. This might sound silly, but I love the ice. It’s the small, pellet kind, sort of like Sonic’s. The dining area is small, with several two-person tables, and two four-person. It’s quiet, and a good place for conversation I’d you don’t mind others in the small room listening in. The only noise to speak of was people placing orders, and the sounds from the grill cook, who you can watch through the order window. The woman who took our order was friendly, and easy-going.

Boy, how Race Street has changed in these past few years. I remember working over here long years ago, when this street had mostly old offices, most in need of repair. The street has really been made over, food joints, lofts… looks like a mini entertainment district. Probably not, but maybe getting there. Anyway, this burger place opened up here late 2013, I think, and I’d heard it was pretty good. Unilocal reviews were good, so I tried it out the other day. The appeal here is a no nonsense burger, and honestly, a simple menu. Burgers, some add on’s like bacon, grilled onions, couple others, but nothing more fancy than avocado. There is a portobello burger offered. Side items? Sure, they got hand cut fries… but that’s pretty well it. Gotta have at least onion rings, right? Uh… no. Who cares, true burgers only need fries with them anyway. I got a bacon cheeseburger, with fries, and a DP. Pretty basic. Didn’t add anything. Everything was fresh cooked right behind the counter window. Since I usually stick with simple burgers at places, I find it hard to make it sound exciting. What I can say, it was well cooked, good bacon, fresh veggers, and it tasted great. Patty might be considered a little thin, but it’s the way they do it, and at about $ 7 for the whole combo, I got no complaints. Fresh cut fries were good, done right. Not greasy in the least. On each table there’s a salt and pepper shaker, and then one of those large metal shakers, full of, that’s right… a seasoning mix for your fries! I can’t recall EVER seeing a place do this. Great idea, because it appears for the salt shy, the fries come out unsalted. Very smart and a great idea. Mix appears to be mostly salt, but some obvious other spices in there. It was good. Looks like the place is all family run. Very friendly, nice people. Food was good, place was clean, what more can you ask for? Looks like the place will pick up where the sadly gone Clown Burger left off. Only open for lunch, at this time anyway, 10am-3pm. Closed Sunday. It’s an easy 4 – 5 stars on this place. I gotta go with 5 stars with most of the reviews leaning that way, and this place deserves it. Remember, it’s not Fred’s or Rodeo Goat, or a gor-met burger joint, but it’s really good for a regular style burger, and the price is right.

Greasy Bend is a small place, maybe 7 – 8 tables, mostly 2 toppers. It was empty except for the 2 people in the kitchen when I got there on a Saturday around 11:30. I had my required magazine with me and I was very much looking forward to the bright, clean atmosphere to enjoy some good food and reading an article or 2. The menu is posted on the wall. They offer burgers… hand cut fries… a few sandwiches. Honestly I was too hungry to think at this point. Before my cheeseburger and magnificent fries were done the room started filling up. Everyone gets their food in a paper bag. Could be awkward if one had a large order but I can understand the ease of this method and also not needing to buy and wash dishes and trays. My only complaint with anything about Greasy Bend was the meat patty being a bit under-seasoned. I had sliced jalapenos added and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a fresh pepper rather than a mushy pickled one. I had ordered it with mayo no mustard which I guess wasn’t noticed as I had mustard and maybe a speck of mayo but I couldn’t find it, the cheese and peppers did a fine job of distracting me. I will gush once more about the fries, they truly are a blessing. Hand cut. Some are crispy and some are kind of soft, really lovely… if a fry can be lovely. Service was friendly and accommodating. No complaints from me. I’m reserving a star for my next visit where I will sample their vegetarian Portobello burger… can’t wait!
