Vietnamese Bun Ga was delicious and the wonton soup may have been the best I have ever eaten. Great spot you would never find if not for Unilocal

This Vietnamese place is not located in the area that you would expect. When you think of Vietnamese food in Tarrant County you think of Haltom City or Arlington. I thought I would give this place a try. I got my standard grilled pork over rice. It was a little more expensive then the places that I go to in Haltom City. It was also greasy. I guess they might have cooked or warmed up the pork on a flat top with some oil. Usually when I get this dish in Haltom City it is not greasy. The taste was good but I think the healthier choice for me when I want this dish is to stay up in Haltom City.

Superb I ordered the vermicelli shrimp, hubby had the stir Fri beef, mother had the stir fried shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered the beef spring rolls as an appetizer Everyone complemented their meals… We will be returning

Living in an apt without a washer/dryer, i am forced to do laundry in the Trinity River or go to a laundromat. The cops have been called too many time for my sudscapades by the river banks, so i head to the laundromat. Thanks to Gia Phu, i can eat while my textiles get so fresh and so clean(clean). The phở is good, rice plates on point. Best part? They let me have the controller so i can watch football while i eat. On point Gia Phu. On point.

Tofu was kind of a weird texture, but the food was good. Veggie spring rolls were delicious. The spicy curry tofu had a great taste, but the tofu scared me. I thought it was chicken before I tried it. It’s apparently from Taiwan. Great spices. I wish they had chili oil :/

During Labor Day, and after helping a friend in Fort Worth with some housework, we decided to try out this Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant while I’m still visiting. While there were very few customers that day, the atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. Kris and I decided to try out the lemongrass chicken and steamed rice. I love the fact we get easy access to the condiments you need on a carousel at each table. The food was fresh and hot(temperature and spice wise), and it was delicious! Unfortunately for Kris, it was too spicy for her taste, and my eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I took some home. The only thing I would suggest on the menu is to highlight any & all spicy items in red or orange(not just indicated that it’s «Hot» in parenthesis), or put pepper symbols by them. Not that I’d mind spicy foods because I love to eat them. Other than that, they did a great job serving us!

I’ll begin by saying I don’t think I’ve ever had better service than I received at Gia Phu. The server was attentive without being overbearing. I order the combination phở and some spring rolls. Both were excellent. The phở had meatballs(super), and various other sliced meat. The veg that is served with it was so very very fresh, I was impressed. I felt the spring rolls were good but the peanut sauce could have had a little something else, kind of bland. I’ll be back many times I’m sure as it is located near my office.

Very quiet spot in southside ft worth! Great Vietnamese food! The phở is good with huge portions. The spring rolls and sesame chicken is great also. Lunch time is packed so I recommend going in the evening. The staff is very nice and friendly too.

Not impressed. I ordered a thai tea(as I always do to find the king of thai teas) and the waiter told me they came in a bottle, trying to convince me to not get it I guess? I told him that’s fine. When our drinks came, although the thai tea was bottled, it was still pretty good. I ordered the pad thai and let me tell you that thing was greasy… It upset my stomach and I couldn’t even eat it. The service was terrible. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

I was told this place sucks but wanted to see for myself… This place is bad! OVERPRICED for low quality food, baby portions, worse eggrolls ever! The phō broth has no taste at all and the«large» phō is in fact a kid portion:-/ I am a phō addict and this place won’t see me again. Worse $ 14 i ever spent!!!

Ordered fresh spring-rolls, bit into a rubber band. I informed them when I was paying and showed them the rubber band. All they did was say sorry. Still paid for everything.

Small restaurants in strips malls can hide little gems. That is the case with Gia Phu. The spring rolls had good flavor and the phở broth stole the show. Portions are large so you won’t leave hungry. It’s not in a fashionable area of Fort Worth but don’t let that stop you from giving it a try. Very enjoyable.

Legit Viet option in the ghetto part of Fort Worth! Cheap, tasty eats with good service from English-speaking Vietnamese people! Credit cards accepted! It doesn’t get much better than that! Plus, it’s clean and busy so you know the food is good. This will be my go-to Viet lunch place at work now!

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We have been coming here for years. My husband’s favorite thing is the roasted pork vermicelli. It’s so delicious. I love to get the Phở Tai Nam(lean brisket phở). The iced tea is so good too. I usually have at least 3 of the giant glasses plus one to go. :) Sometimes it can be slow because Thomas, the owner is by himself but it’s always worth the wait.

Gia Phu is yummy! I’ve only had phở two places in Fort Worth and I would still rate Little Saigon over Gia Phu. Mainly because of location but also because of some taste factors. Nothing beats Phở Van in Austin. But I digress. Gia Phu is still quite delicious. Spring rolls always taste fresh and my phở is gigantically portioned. They don’t give me flack for adding brocolli to my steaky soup either.

Gia Phu has, over time, become one of my favorite phở joints in town. It’s nothing special really, just a no frills, very informal, family-run place in a not-so-great part of town… but the owners are very friendly, the phở is really good, and what I love most about this place over others is that they give you *a lot* of basil, cilantro, limes, jalapenos, and sprouts to put in your soup — I’d say about double what most other places around here do, and all of it is always very fresh. I’ve noticed that a lot of people commenting on having to seat yourself, which I admit can be confusing on the first visit, but thanks to the magic of the internet, now you know and can walk right in like you’ve been there 100 times before. And their English isn’t superb, so they likely won’t be chatting you up. But luckily, none of that has any effect on the food. Most of my visits have mainly centered on the phở. I tried one of the stir-fried dishes once, and immediately started cursing myself for straying from what I already knew they did well. Sometimes adventure can be hazardous, you know?

Came in for the first time in a year or so. Hmmm… Compared to last year, this was such a let-down, so much that I don’t know if I’ll be back any time soon. And yes, I know that any place that«specializes» in two types of Asian food(in Gia Phu’s case, they do Vietnamese and Chinese food) is probably not that great, but I promise it was better than this! One friend ordered the Sesame Chicken – It tasted closer to orange chicken. It was probably actual orange chicken but with sesame seeds, no joke. It was cooked with onions and the onions were rather smelly – even for onions. They were probably on the old side. Another friend ordered one of the Phở dishes – like I said, it had been over a year since I last came here. But I don’t remember the broth being as opaque(the color of light chicken broth) last year as it was the other day. Even though I didn’t try it, the light color wasn’t a good sign, and she wasn’t very enthusiastic about how it tasted, either. A friend ordered the Fried Rice with Chicken. This was probably the worst of all, and not just because of the food itself(though that was pretty egregious and bad). When it came to the table, the chicken looked pink. After sniffing a piece of the pink chicken, he came to the conclusion that it was indeed raw. After sending it back, it returned around 30 seconds later(it came back to the table incredibly quick), slightly less pink than the first time, the plate being hotter than the first time. They actually microwaved the food to finish cooking the chicken! It’s not like the restaurant was all that full; they should have just cooked it again. After all this, why 2 starts instead of 1? Because the sweet and sour chicken that I ordered wasn’t all that bad. Me and my friends went to Gia Phu because it’s so close to where we live. If you have a choice, just drive a little further to Haltom City and go to Phở 95 – it’s comparable in price but way tastier.
