The kids had fun at the petting zoo. $ 3 for a cup of feed. $ 2 admission to go see the animals.

Touristy but fun, the Stockyards host several fun family events on a regular basis with seasonal attractions as well. You can watch the cattle stroll down main street at 11:30a and 4:00p every day. There’s plenty of shopping to collect new tchotchkes. There’s a petting zoo($ 2 per person + $ 3 for a small cup of feed), cattle pen maze, a mechanical bull, and the coliseum(rodeos on weekend nights). The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels to the Stockyards, which seems fun. There are museums and guided tours of the area, if that’s your thing. The food options are pretty limited. Risky’s seems to own the Stockyards– they have a burger spot and BBQ centrally located. You can sit atop a massive longhorn and get your picture taken for a few bucks. We saw pony rides($ 6) the Saturday that we visited. The parking is abundant and mostly $ 5 for the entire day. We’ve always had fun, especially with our 3-year old. There are plenty of kid friendly activities at the Stockyards.

Great place for a day with the family. Me, my wife and daughter and granddaughter had a great time. My granddaughter loved the cattle drive and ex specially the horses. We will be back. Thanks for the good time. The Tyler’s ! ! ! !

While the stockyards themselves are interesting, the stables are poorly managed and a disappointment to any horse enthusiast. The young girl answering phone calls was the only individual in charge of these horseback trail rides, and that fact alone is extremely problematic. We were informed that we would be guaranteed spots if we arrived before the stables closed at 5 pm, and that there were plenty of openings for our party of four. When we arrived after an hour long drive, this same girl told us that the all these spots had«magically» filled up. The only explanation for this phenomenon is that this girl lied to us over the phone, causing us to waste two hours driving to the stockyards and back. The lack of a reservation system made this entire experience even more frustrating. An establishment with as much tourism as the stockyards should be able to hire personnel that actually understand how to run a service without petty lies, and put in place a system that allows reservations to be made. Every other horse ranch in the area seems to have already figured out the importance of call-ahead reservations. In the unlikely event that we ever decide to go back to the stockyards, I sincerely hope that this girl is not there to serve us. What a waste of a day.

Extremely unprofessional and disorganized. My family and I called up to the stables to make a reservation and we were told that they do not accept reservations, and that it was«first come, first serve.» We had an hour and a half drive to get there so we asked if we’d be able to get in if we drove all the way there. The woman representing the stables said that as long as we made it up there before 5 and put our names on the list, we could ride. We arrived at the stables a little before 4 and the woman that we spoke to on the phone said that they were about to do the last ride and we didn’t make it. This was extremely frustrating since we made it clear that we would be there by 4 with 4 people and she assured us we would«be fine» and be able to ride. They need a better process or at least a staff that will be honest with you about how their process actually works.

this is a great place to take out of town friends to see what Texas is all about. yes it’s touristy, but it’s fun, there’s great food, and between here and downtown Fort Worth, you can make a day of it. My friend and I did a horseback trail ride at the stables which was really nice and great for people who have little to no riding experience

Totally touristy, but in a GREAT way. Looked all over Dallas for a cowboy and only found ones with helmets on. Came to Fort Worth and BAM, found em all over. We sauntered up to a few bars and listened to great music and drank some beers. Just walk, watch, talk, and listen. It is well worth it. We were there on a Sunday evening and still live music came out of 4 bars. Like the other reviewer stated: GOAT11:30am or 4:00pm. CATTLEDRIVESARECOOOOOOL.

This is the spot to get your Cowboys tour and see live cattle!!! Things to do here: watch cattle drive. They have it everyday at 11:30am and 4:00pm. You stand outside on a curb right in the middle of the stockyard and watch the cattle walk through. There’s even real cowboys! :D Another thing to do is visiting museums or eat bbq nearby!
