Wow! I have had the opportunity to see all three shows in this 2015 season and it’s just fantastic. Not just because of the shows, but because of the staff too. Everyone here is incredibly helpful and willing to please their patrons. This year I saw La Traviata, Dog Days, and Hamlet. All three very different in their own ways, two of which are unique to any opera. If you haven’t seen it, La Traviata is the opera that inspired Pretty Woman. It’s very opulent, dramatic, and short. This makes it a fantastic first opera for anyone wanting to experience a show for their first time. It’s a classic and easy to follow, plus the performers this year do a pretty good job. Dog Days is completely different. This show is dark, very dark, and not at all for the faint of heart. Set in a post-apocalyptic world with a family starving to death, you meet a man in a dog suit. This show is not like your average opera with very little melody to follow, but the subject matter is deep and will intrigue you. Definitely not kid friendly. But great. Hamlet is not like your typical Hamlet. I won’t spoil anything, but you will be surprised. Plus as soon as you enter the lobby you’re immersed into the Hamlet world, one which you’re really not expecting! Their customer service staff is so friendly they will help you find the best seats at your price point. There are student packages and lots of opportunities for discount.
