This Dixie House location in Fort Worth off 820 is not like the others. We visit this one 1 – 2 times monthly and after the meal yesterday– Saturday June 2016 we will not return. This is why– not to point fingers but We tried to bring this to the Manager’s attention and she replied without taking this valuable opportunity to inquire as to what, when, how, why was this visit food, service and experience unacceptable. She defended herself instead. This location has declined it appears in quality service and food quality even most recently and they seem to be oblivious to it. Even when given the chance they do not have a genuine interest in improvement or just quality customer service any longer. Sad really because this attitude usually begins at the top of the company and these employees are only emulating what is acceptable at that top level. We suggest taking your hard earned money and your precious time to another Diner in DFW– there are so very many great ones and this location does not really have a care if we visit as customers or not– and afterall, we are all here to make the world a better place, right? Some other Diners that we love are ‘The Diner’ and even ‘Norma’s’. You leave with a feeling of satisfaction in all fundamental ways(kindness, delicious food and cleanliness of the establishment).

Do you like to be called Hun or Sugar? If so, this is your place. If not, RUNAWAYYYYY… Now seriously, this is just an old fashioned diner /truck stop style restaurant where you get good food for a decent price. Everyone below me has bragged on the pie, chicken fried steak, and pork chops so that has already been covered. I LOVETHEIRICEDTEA. Yep, I said it. Good strong tea that has a great flavor not the dirty water type. Good food and GREAT tea, I think you’ll like them. Give them a try.

You looking for some home-style diner food then the Dixie House is for you. I have been here for breakfast and dinner and I always have a good meal. The food for breakfast is the standard fare. With eggs anyway you want them nice and hot. The plate portions is a very good size with plenty of food. The coffee will keep coming to your table. Can be a little busy at breakfast but there is plenty of seating. You will be seated and you will have table service. The service is very good fast but not pushy. You can sit and enjoy your coffee. Dixie House has some nice pies to choose from. I’m always full so I never tried them. For dinner I like the chicken fried steak my favorite food. They do a very good job at making this meal. And the sides are very good also. They have great iced tea nice strong not that weak stuff. Not very busy at night during the week. So there is no wait to be seated. The service is still very good they are very friendly and helpful. The menu has a lot of items to choose from you will find something to eat. There is also a Monday special on Chicken fried steak it is a good deal half price.

Best home style cooking in town. One of the best chicken fried steaks I have had. Pot roast is delish and their pies will make you slap your momma.

I love Dixie house! The bacon cheeseburger and onion rings are to die for! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the waitress was a little unfriendly. Other than that awesome place!

Yummy CFS, mashed potatoes and corn after church on Sunday. Loved this place and the funny, chatty servers. This is a fun diner.

We went here for breakfast hoping for a good country breakfast. The pancakes were sinkers and tasted nothing better then a bisquik hot cake. The bacon came out over cooked and the eggs were brown around the rims like it was sitting in brown butter or margarine. Unfortunately this place was a strike out for our find for a breakfast diner.

It was a nice break from the major Franchises, but nothing too spectacular. The prices were fair and the atmosphere homey. The pancakes were a little dry, while the French toast to soggy. The sausage patties and bacon were on point and the chicken fried chicken was average tasting.

Don’t go to this location if you want to get sick. I ordered fried pork chops and I swear the meat was rotten. I’ll never go to a Dixie House restaurant again.

Place was crazy busy, sat quick but didn’t get to order for a while. Not very tasty breakfast food. I had the pancakes, eggs hash browns and bacon. The only upside was the amount of slices of bacon– a crap ton! My hubby couldn’t eat his meal at all :(. The lunch menu looked good, and the desserts looked amazing. Willing to try again — will keep you posted

While the building was clean and bright, and the waitstaff friendly and helpful, the food was lackluster and coffee weak. We had the breakfast specials, eggs, hashbrowns, meat, and a biscuit with gravy. All ok, but I could do better at home. At least the waitstaff was friendly and fun.

Today I needed some home cooking and Dixie House fit the bill. I love their lunch specials. Today I ordered the meatloaf with green beans and mac and cheese. The meatloaf was seasoned wonderfully and very moist. The green beans were prepared just like my mom used to do with bacon(what doesn’t go well with bacon) and a few onions. I rounded out my wonderful lunch with Dixie House’s great cornbread muffins. YUMMY!

This was my first time coming here. The food was outstanding! The only problem I had was how long it took for our food to be brought out. I had the meatloaf, green beans, and mac and cheese. I took a piece of the buttermilk pie to go and LOVED it! I definitely suggest you all to try dixie house !

We went into Dixie’s originally just to have a piece of pie. We had heard they were pretty good. Atmosphere is reminiscent of 60s style diner, and has a very small hometown feel to it. Staff was friendly and efficient. We ended up having the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak dinner plates. The food was delivered quickly and everything was hot and fresh and homemade. My only complaint is that they are slightly overpriced for homestyle food, i. e something I could make at home. That being said the slightly overpriced food was well worth it’s weight in pie! Reminded me of grandma’s old fashion style baking which brought back lots of fun pleasant memories! I will definitely go back there again!!!

We haven’t been here in about 4 years. The one we used to go to is now closed. We wanted a wonderful home cooked meal and we got it! The service was great and everyone was friendly! Couldn’t eat all of my food! We have 2 plates to take home. Next time we visit we will definitely be back!

Burger Rating: 6.4 Service: 7 Cleanliness: 6 Value: 6 Dixie House offers lots of great home cooking and they have a long list of Specials of the Day — meat loaf, chicken fried steak, and lots of dessert options. What I saw passing by my table looked great! Maybe one of those was a better option than the cheeseburger. One of my peeves is a place that won’t cook a burger medium rare. To that point, this place insisted the burger be cooked well done. As our friendly waitress explained it, «That’s to make sure they’re, you know, healthy.» Hmmmm, what’s in the ground beef that they’re scared of?(And thinking back, was wasn’t I scared?) I think the cheeseburger was about $ 5.40, but adding bacon was another $ 2.65 … almost half the price of the burger. Alright, let’s cut this short: A so-so burger with multipurpose, mealy ground meat, cooked hard and dry. A good recipe for asphalt, not so much for a burger. — — — — — — — — – I’m working my way through the best burger joints in DFW.
