This place was recently bought by the Suarez family and has focused on quality, affordable, down home Mexican. It succeeds. Good stuff and worth the trip!

I liked this place before it went under new management and I wish I would’ve written a review about it then because it would’ve been glorious! The food used to be fresh and authentic but now it’s a bit bland(especially the salsa) and looks a bit processed. I mainly came for their $ 3 big breakfast burritos made with 3 or 4 lrg eggs, your choice of bfast meat and cheese.(RIP) They’ve since been replace with a lrg tortilla filled with what looked like only 1 egg, french fries, lots of cheese and pinch of bfast meat for $ 4. If you’re like me and you only came for the best breakfast burritos in fort worth, I sadly suggest finding another breakfast burrito provider.

I tried this place out today, my meal was super huge, and very tasty. Price was pretty decent… I’d love to go back

I used to love this place but recently they had a change in ownership. The menu has changed for the worst. The beans taste like they’re straight out of a can. I’ve been eating here for several years and this was a big shock for me when I sat down to eat. The original menu was perfect and the food was so authentic. The new owner seems to be cutting costs by serving poor quality food. Bring back the old menu and food it was what kept this placing going. Also the prices have gone up but I can’t imagine why. –Sad regular customer

Had the fish tacos and shrimp cocktail. Fantastic. The batter over the fish was very good. The shrimp cocktail was the best I’ve ever had — different, it was in a ceviche that was perfect and they are very generous with their portions. Service was great. In and out in 30 minutes and well fed. Well worth the visit!

Carnitas. Beans and rice. Chips and salsa. Oh, yeah. Walked in to this place on Spring Break. Sounds like it was a good time to go since most students and faculty weren’t in town. Walked right in and got a table. Asked for the special and about 5 minutes later it was sitting in front of me steaming hot. Carnitas was crispy and tender, just like I like them. Rice and beans did not disappoint and the homemade tortillas were awestriking. Then as I was walking out I saw a 5lb burrito. Dang. Double dang. A guy in a military uniform was devouring it and he said he’d eat the whole thing. It. Was. Huge. I’ll be back for sure.

A five pound burrito in a five star restaurant! We visited for lunch after several raving reviews from neighbors. Dining and supporting East Side business is tough because there are limited choices and concerns about eating in rough parts of town. I am glad we made the trek! I am not sure I have been in a more friendly restaurant. I talked with both brothers about the family history, restaurant history, why they have strange hours, and ways to increase business. They close at three because serving dinner would wear the family out, and they don’t want to lose their passion for serving fresh family recipes. My theory was to minimize the risk of crime. The five pound burrito should be featured in «Man vs Food.» If you eat it all you earn a tshirt. I’ll try that next time and split the shirt with a friend. As expected, the food was awesome. I ordered the taco plate(only $ 6.95) but went with the recommendation to try the Indian Taco Plate. This selection upgrades to puffy taco shells. The queso, shredded cheddar, and salsa stood out to me. Cheap food, friendly service, and five star food. Hey Unilocalers, fire up your GPS and check this place out!

Super authentic Mexican food, and one of the best hidden gems ever. I super wish I had the oppurtunity to go here more, but they don’t open for very long on both the weekdays and weekends! Boyfriend looves the breakfast tacos/burritos here — they are super flavorful, delicious, and also very inexpensive for how much they give you! They also have great enchiladas.

I agree with Eric T. other than police, fire, Texas Weslyan students and locals to short eastside, this a secret treasure. A true diamond in the rough. The place is clean, the service is great and of course the food is amazing. The salsa is tasty with a hint of cumin, but request the salsa verde if you like smoky and super spicy. I had the menudo, which was served piping hot and had plenty of flavor, it was completely full of tripe and hominy.

Best secret in Fort Worth. Traditional Mexican food at it’s best. They took care of my family for Xmas christmas dinner. They were closed and opened up to do my order. Great service & great food. Family owned and established in the community.

I’ve returned to dine at Campesino’s many times since I was introduced to them by a coworker in January 2014 and I’ll continue to be a loyal customer. The food is prepared quickly, presented nicely and most importantly tastes great! As custom with most Tex-Mex and Mexican eateries, they offer complimentary chips and salsa. They have daily specials and have a small cooler by the bar with bottled Jarritos and Mexican Coke in addition to the usual iced tea and fountain drinks(the latter with free refills). I usually drink water with most of my meals, but I do love Mexican Coke; soda tastes so much better in a glass bottle and made with real sugar instead of HFCS! As far as the menu goes, I’ve had the veggie tostadas(aka bean & cheese chalupas), enchiladas, panchos(nachos), chicken torta, chorizo/egg gorditas, flour tortillas and I’m probably forgetting some other items, but everything I’ve tried has been tasty. I’m always full after my meal, but some day I hope to save room to try the sopapillas. Prices are reasonable and service is consistently excellent. All of the employees are really friendly. Also, if you are a fan of breakfast like me, take note that they offer it all day. Only downside is that they close early(3 – 3:30pm). If not, I’d come by for dinner too!

Excellent little spot in near Texas Wesleyan University. Service was solid and I enjoyed seeing the fireplace. I had the fajitas and the quality was high. Especially enjoyed the smoky flavor of the fresh salsa. Also the corn tortillas were fresh and thick. Will be back as soon as I can.
