If Unilocal would allow no stars, that’s what I would give. I guess there is a reason Bennigans went out of business and this particular experience is exactly why. Sat ourselves in the bar as directed. Waited 10 minutes and asked hostess for menus, as the bartender was bartending and taking care of other tables. She said the bartender would bring them over and she did, but did not take a drink order. We called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager as by now the hostess stand had been abandoned and the bartender was nowhere to be found. No luck on that end, so we wasted 20 minutes of our lives and went and ate at BJ’s.

Well tried to have a nice romantic meal with my vegetarian wife. No such luck. The first thing that went wrong would be that they were out of veggie burgers. Had to come back to her three times with a menu before she could complete her order. The appetizers came out after the entrees. I don’t recommend this restraunt. Probably won’t be back again.

When we walked in we had to seat ourselves bc there was no hostess. Servers walked by, looked at us and never asked if we’ve been helped. Awful food! Also had ordered 2 beers and the 2nd brought to me was in a smaller glass and was charged the same price for both of them. When we were almost done with our meal we saw that there was a hostess at the front. he was leaning on the counter and picking his teeth. not with a toothpick. with his fingernails… please file for bankruptcy again!

Just as bad as I remembered! I haven’t been here in years but my tummy was grumbling for a big portion of something, anything really. The first thing worth mentioning is the immediate smell of mildew and dirty wash rag water. The menus were sticky and also gross smelling. I ordered the monte cristo and it was practically a fried stack of soggy, greasy bread. Even with the jelly and powdered sugar the sandwich was tasteless. The fries were over salted and undercooked. The cottage pie was nothing short of a can of gravy with powdered potatoes smothered on top. The only thing that my tastes buds enjoyed were the broccoli bites. We waited for over an hour for two entrees– this place was really short staffed(according to our frazzled waitress). The food is definitely inexpensive but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Greasy greasy greasy fatty food If you are dieting don’t come here. Our waiter was busy talking it up at the bar while we waited 15 minutes for him to even take our order. The place was no where near busy… Will not be back

I long for the old days of Bennigans. The only place on Hulen where you could get a meal after midnight that didn’t involve pancakes and the bonus of having a cocktail. When Bennigans returned to Hulen I was excited, I don’t know why I don’t live anywhere near Hulen anymore but the nostalgia of it all I guess. I made my return visit with my BFF and we frequented that place probably 3 – 4 times a month back in the day. We only stopped for a cocktail and noticed it was all day Happy Hour on Saturday so decided on a few drinks and appetizers for old times. The drinks were spot on, plenty of alcohol good to the last drop. For appetizers we had broccoli bites and wings. I use to love the broccoli bits, 2014 version not so much. They were actually too cheesy and not enough broccoli. They were just okay. The wings were delicious, we got the sauce on the side but they were breaded and fried perfectly seasoned. I would get those again in a heart beat. All in all good drinks and good company made it a good experience. I’m willing to try it again to see if the Monte Cristo has that same flavor.

To quote Mr Possum: «This place is struggling to reach mediocrity and can’t quite seem to get there.» Burger was ordered medium rare, came well-done. Grown Kid Possum liked it anyway, said it was«fine.» The fries are thick-cut but only cooked just past the point of mush. The onion ring side order was tasty enough but way too greasy. Chicken tenders were only OK. Not so bad as to be inedible, but not very yummy either. Just«ok.» The cole slaw was nice and fresh but bland bland bland. I poured ranch dressing on it, and bumped it up half a notch. BTW – How do you mess up chicken tenders? The fish and chips dinner bordered on awful. The crust was nicely browned, but unfortunately was still mushy. Worse, some bits of the fish had a chewy skin attached. As for the service, it was also just«ok.» The manager was very friendly when we came in… gotta award a good girl star for that. But the waitress loses two duckies and a smiley off her chart for being so lackadaisical. So, my advice is that until these guys get their act together, move on down the road. Lots of similar restaurants in the vicinity that deserve your patronage.

Great service! We arrived and was greeted at the door. Once seated a waitress from a different section saw that our group wasn’t comfortable and instantly recommended a different section. The food came quickly, the portions were the right size and the service was great. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Service here is on point and I’m one of the few that actually likes Bennigan’s, especially the Guinness sauce. I told the server that I wanted to split the Guinness burger and to my surprise, he had the kitchen cut the burger in half and divided into two plates. Presentation was on point and the burger wasn’t sloppy or anything although I will admit that the fries are meh. I don’t really come here that often though to have a feel for what the place is, so I guess some review updates will be due in the future.

Dinner for 4, OUTSTANDING server(Mike). Best BBQ ribs I’ve ever eaten! Only downer — cole slaw was not so much. The Sidewinder fries are really yummy. Also the Cottage Pie was very good too! Thanks Bennigans!

So one of my long time friends from grapevine had moved to this area & we had stopped by for a visit. Afterward we had decided to stop by here and another chain that we hadn’t been too in forever because of all the locations by us closing. Our first mistake was that it was St. Patrick’s day weekend. Goodness, I really felt like an old lady at this point. Random dj playing far to loud music, they were passing out green beads, had a waitress walking around with green beers & shots for $ 2 a pop. I will give them props for the drink specials for the weekend, but as a non-drinker it was getting really pushy at certain points. Our waiter was really cool & did a great job. I was sad though when I noticed some of the things that I had loved about bennigans had been lost in the shut-downs & apparent re-vamp of the restaurant. Like they had just recently brought back potato skins & didn’t have cheese sticks. So we ended up skipping part of the reason I had wanted to go in, the appetizers I loved splurging on as a kid. I’m sure we’ll give it another shot, if we’re hanging with our friend in the area. Hopefully on a not so … loudy, drink heavy weekend. Yet we may not go out of our way to come back.

Loses a star due to their crap Guinness burger I had the other day. First of all, the damn thing was a mess and looked to be quite literally thrown together. Next, the Guinness glaze on the burger was an overly-sweet, sticky sauce that tasted nothing of its namesake. The burger itself was cooked fine, but theyre gonna have to do way better than simply cooking it properly if im to enjoy it… especially with the price tag. This was the one thing I saw previously and was like, «hmm, id try that»…and it was a huge disappointment. Their broccoli bites are still their saving grace and the one thing keeping this place as a solid two star for me.

As others have mentioned, let them get the kinks straight. EurIndia’s kitchen was closed. Bummed, we decided to try this place out. For a lark, we said. No, I don’t want to sit right next to the kitchen. This place is empty! Wth young hostess? Took our waiter quite a while to initially serve us. He got better throughout the evening, but it took way too damn long for a sandwich and a burger. We were seriously considering walking out before another waiter had to bring it out. Food isn’t that expensive, and they have a number of creative mixed drinks I was interested in. Might come back later with a non-foodie friend. *Might.* Screw it. You know I’ll be back for that Monte Cristo! No one else has ‘em, ‘cept the Movie Tavern. And even then it’s in wrap form. You got me Bennigan’s. Glad to see you’re back from the dead!

Hope they were having a bad day. To preface this review I would like you to know I previously worked in the restaurant business for about 5 years and being critical of the service industry is not an agenda of mine. That being said our experience was bad. I ordered the pot roast that was somehow dry even though it was soaked in gravy. The mashed potatoes tasted like they had been prepared with sardines as the secret ingredient. For the first time in my life I sent my food back because it was that bad. On a good note my wife’s Turkey Sandwich was pretty good. Most disturbing thing was that when I sent my food back it was not met with a visit from a member of management. I would never ask for anything free just to take off the bill and I would go on my merry way and hopefully my input could help their business out in the future. Did not happen though my meal was taken off the bill which is usually removed by a card carrying member of management??? Oh well. I understand they are new and have kinks to workout, but our next visit will probably be for just a beer.
