Pretty well organized store. Purchased some KG sized school chairs, had to sort through to get the good ones, but that was no problem at all. Got 10 chairs for $ 35, which is an awesome deal! Spent $ 40 total on my trip. Found their ad on craigslist. The owner, Barnie, is a real sweetheart. The employee behind the counter, not sure if it was his wife or just an employee, but she was a real @$!#&!!! I mean HORRIBLE. She was rude when I walked in, yet noticeably pleasant with other people. Side note: I was chipper, polite and sweet as pie, greeted her, smiled, the whole bit. When I asked her for more chairs, she acted like it was a HUGE inconvenience, retrieved the wrong number of chairs reluctantly, slammed them down, and walked back to the counter, completely ignoring that I said, «Looks like I’ll need 2 more» the moment she set them down, smh. When I went back up to the counter and asked for 2 more, she got an attitude and on the way back, barked at me to stack up the other chairs I didn’t want(great customer service!), then again, retrieved them, slammed them down without a word, and went to the front ignoring me. Further leaving me to drag a heavy stack of 10 chairs a good distance to the front counter. It was unbelievable. When Barnie showed up on the scene, he was so nice! Offered to get the chairs for me, was friendly and professional. Despite his pleasant behavior, which should have been a queue to her rude, unprofessional behind to shape up, she continued to act like a c#&! It’s too bad really. I bet they have lots of good stuff in there, but I don’t think I’d subject myself to that kind of treatment for some used items again. I hope he gets rid of her and if that’s his wife, keep her sorry behind in the back where she belongs, far away from dealing with customers. Her reason for behaving like that? If I took a guess, I’d say it was the scarf around my head. Being an American Muslim, I get used to bias and ill treatment, but professional situations is where people should draw the line. I run a business and deal with people of all faiths: Christians, Muslims, Athiests, Agnostics, Jews… and I always have complete professional courtesy with every single customer. If she can’t keep her ignorant, unjustified hatred bottled up, she shouldn’t be dealing with the public, esp. in Texas, where the Muslim population is HUGE. And if I’m wrong, and she’s just rude and unprofessional to me, utterly unrelated to the little piece of fabric wrapped around my head, then again, she has no business in customer service. So yeah. Barnie was awesome. The chick with glasses and long black hair — total wench. So there u go. Not bad for a bargain used item store.
