Would be nice if there was enough chicken to even cover the bread. My first 3 bites had no meat!

Bottom Line: More like Panera than a deli, but it’s a good option if you want a quick meal that isn’t too heavy. I’ve been here a few times and I find it perfectly comfortable and adequate. Unique, amazing and mouth watering? No, buts it’s great for a comfortable place to sit down to enjoy a sandwich, salad or cold drink. The food here is ok. I think sandwiches are better than salads as the salads seem like an afterthought. I got a Caesar Salad with shrimp on my most recent visit. While I appreciated the option to add shrimp, they were so bland. They were just poached or steamed with no seasoning. Moreover, they were borderline rubbery. Maybe the chicken would have been a better bet… What I do like about this place is the comfortable seating and vast array of drink options. It may sound silly, but I appreciate that they have nice plastic cups and you can get soda or about four flavors of iced tea. Sometimes my drink just tastes better when it’s served in a sturdy, plastic cup. When I think of a deli, I think of a NYC deli where someone is feverishly slicing meat behind the counter and you can see a variety of salads through the glass of the deli case. Baker Brothers on the other hand reminds me of other quick-food eateries like Panera, Atlanta Bread Company, Pot Belly or even Noodles. I’m fine with the concept, I just think people should know this«deli» doesn’t have a deli look or feel.

Was there seven years ago… went this past week to meet an old friend, bad choice. Now I remembered why I had never went back. Back wall menu. TOOBUSY. Ordered Texas Cobb Salad, friend got Ruben, dried out chibatta, mediocre… salad came out with red onion, after asking to keep off of salad. Food came out as our butts hit the seat. lol…bizzarre. Just threw the stuff together. Salad had rancid sweet pralines on it, nasty. Hence«Texas“Cobb …sent back, gal behind counter, very robotic in answers. Like she was reading them from employee handbook all night before starting shift? Got a Chicken Cesar figuring they cant mess that up too much. McDonalds has better salads. It is a big restaurant but not a spec of music from speakers. It was dull, boring corporate chain. Then I chuckled to see a guy in a «Chefs Jackets» come out with his mini pizza, sat accross from us eating lunch, watched the game. A CHEF… here?. no mas…

This has become my favorite deli. The bread is fresh and perfect. I love the Texas Star. And I had a decent bowl of chili here… the real stuff, no beans!!! The service is fast, the food is hot and fresh and delicious. This is my kind of place.

Only tried a salad, which was bland but crisp. The sandwiches looked good, but I’m on a friggin’ diet so… The service was sharp and the flatware/dishes were good quality for the kind of place this is. I’d give it another shot if I ever get off the diet because the service and cleanliness were very good.

Really reliable deli stuff in the mold of a PotBelly. Salads and soups(black bean) are really nice as well, although I thought a tad pricey for take-out fare. The deli is ok if you want to stay and eat, basic booths, nice and clean. I also had breakfast here one morning, a nice«scrambler platter» with eggs, potato, bacon, cheese. The coffee needs an upgrade, and the fruit bowl if hot for a few bucks was pretty shabby. I’ll be back because sandwiches, salads and soups are freshly made with quality ingredients.

I used to love Baker Bros — and actually, I still really like their food. But let’s just throw any version of value right out the window. Back in the day — when I used to eat Baker Bros weekly at their Las Colinas location — I would get a chicken salad sandwich, cup of soup and drink for $ 8.10. It was a HUGE sandwich. On this last visit I got the café-sized sandwich(about half the size of the old-school regular size), cup of soup and drink for $ 11.50. Not even the same amount of food for a near 40% increase! AND I can’t find a club cracker anywhere. And why can’t folks read orders back? Their chicken salad(which is really, really good and spicy) comes standard on the driest wheat bread ever(consistently dry every time). I asked for their far more tasty farm bread. He missed entering that request even though he verbally acknowledged it. At least he got the Swiss cheese addition. On the up-side, the sandwich is way better without any bread at all. And I still like their black bean soup. And in all these years, they have a much better unsweet tea– they used to have only a tropical unsweet tea selection, so at least this option is significantly better. At the end of the day, I just can’t justify paying that much more money for less food. And for paying for a dude’s salary who can’t call back an order. At least the manager is always friendly.

I had the Kowloon Asian salad. The half salad was ample size for lunch. The ingredients were fresh. The service was fast. The muffaletta sandwich was good, but not great. The meat content was fair, but sparse. The restroom was clean. The restaurant looks new, clean, and well kept.

So I’ve not made it in here for a full sit-down bite of any kind just yet, but did stop by and grab a pair of sandwiches to go today and soaked a little of Baker Bros up in the process: this deli seems to predicate its approach on somewhat straightforward Deli staples(occasionally with the matter of a twist worked in), and I nabbed my order with precious little wait time. That said, that wasn’t what really intrigued me: Bakes Bros is on its face a pretty utilitarian looking restaurant, and the accoutrements would seem to attest to that fact: it’s pretty spare in here save for the seating arrangements and a flat screen or so. But they really seem to hang their hat on providing an easy customer experience and food that hits the spot. On a day when I’d been stuck in the car for hours, something I didn’t have to make myself that lit up my tastebuds was just what the doc ordered. I’ve not tried the soup yet, so I wanna do that, but for a first stop in, Baker Bros did plenty right.

We enjoyed this place! It’s kinda like a better, tastier version of McAllisters(if you are familiar with that brand). They have good soup, baked potatoes, salads, and sandwiches. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were large! Yum!

This is one of my wife’s favorite places to eat. She could live on the Santa Fe Salad. Service is always fast and the food is fresh and plentiful. We’re definitely fans! I love their«Texas» chili.

Probably the best salads I’ve ever had, but I’m disappointed they’re a lot smaller than they used to be. My favorite is the Texas Cobb, with its delicious blue cheese crumbles and Pan Handle-spiced pecans. Second favorite is probably the Chicago Chop, but for some reason I usually always go back to the Cobb(probably because of the pecans). I’ve also had their sandwiches, which have been good, as well as soup and the tasty Big Tex baked potato(topped with BBQ beef, cheddar cheese, bacon and onion). Only complaint is that they’re a bit too pricey, which wouldn’t be that bad, but like I said before, their portions have gotten drastically smaller.

I don’t understand why they are closing some locations, but it makes me sad. And this location is always line out the door at lunch. I go for the l.a. Veggie, grilled portobello mushrooms topped with carrot slaw, olive tapenade and cheese. I’m in sandwich heaven! Add some beer cheese soup minus the bacon and you have a vegetarians dream. Can’t wait to go back, if only southlake location didn’t close, tear.

If I want a ginormous salad, they’ve got the best. I always get the Chicago Chop(large of course!) with honey mustard dressing — Da bomb! Their sandwiches are not that great or filling, but the best place in DFW for a good, fresh, humongous salad!

Went there for lunch &had a reuben. This was the worst sandwich I ever had. The corn beef had big chunks of fat in it. I had to take the sandwich apart before I could eat it. It was disgusting. I paid $ 6.69 for this wanna be sandwich. I will never go back.

Aw shucks. I thought this was my idea. Upscale deli, monster salads. Low prices, fast service. Baker Bros have scored on a very good formula for the business lunch crowd. The joint is bustling with a good line to the counter, a big fat menu over the counter, three dozen tables with nice Pottery Barn looking chairs and buzzer coaster service. They have, I swear, some of the largest salads I’ve ever seen, and they look delicious. Thank god this can spell the end of the salad bar. They have a Texas Cobb that I just have to try next time around. This time, however I had to start off with a traditional, which they mangled but they mangled it with style. I’m talking of course about a NY pastrami on rye with swiss cheese and mustard. It’s nothing to write home about, but for 7 bucks I couldn’t have expected much more. The bread, however, is really delicious and it filled me way up. I’m going to give the traditional deli sandwiches a break though. I shoulda got a salad.
