Three Rivers Dermatology

I went to Three Rivers Dermatology for about three years when I lived in Fort Wayne, and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Dr. Sassmanshausen («Dr. Sass») and Michelle are both outgoing, good communicators, and straightforward with their suggestions for treatment. The nurses and staff are friendly as well, and you will never leave without samples or discount cards. The office itself is a new location, bigger and nicer than their former home, so it’s a nice environment to be in.
My only complaint is the wait time for both getting appointments and for seeing the doctors. If you’ve never been before, expect to have a 3 – 4 week wait to get in for an appointment, and then once you are there for your appointment, expect to wait between 30 and 45 minutes in the office and potentially longer in the examination room. I will say, however, that they were very accomodating when I was home from college and called one day to see if they could squeeze me in for my 5-​minute treatment; I didn’t even have to wait for that one!
In my opinion, I’d rather wait a while and see a doctor I like and who is friendly, than be in-​and-​out and feel like I’m a burden or just another check mark on a doctor’s schedule. I’d recommend Three Rivers for all those families in SWAC who are looking for a dermatologist.
