Orchard Ridge Country Club

I had my wedding reception here and although Jennifer the coordinator was great, the food was disappointing. I ordered the country buffet for $ 30/​person not including the taxes or service charges so I expected as great of food as I had in the tasting. The ribs were dry, they didn’t have wet wipes for the guests, the corn and green beans were cold, the corn bread was so dry it was almost inedible. My husband was a cook in the Army and my mom’s boyfriend used to be a restaurant owner. They both saw that the bad food was a result of bad planning. They said that staff had the food standing in the warmer for too long and the cold vegetables was an easy fix of changing the pan underneath with hotter water but that wasn’t done even after I complained about the corn being cold. All they did was heat up MY food. But what about my guests!?! To top it all off, I made a fake cake to cut into (Styrofoam covered in fondant). I am a cake decorator and so I wanted to decorate my own cake and I brought a sheet cake for guests to eat. Before I was already done «cutting» into my cake, the sheet cake was already out for people to get. It wasn’t supposed to be that way. After I cut the cake, it was supposed to go into the kitchen and the edible cake was supposed to come out. I told this plan to Jennifer but since she was out for the rest of the day, the plan wasn’t carried through. When I approached the person in charge of the catering and told him how upset I was. He said, «I’m sorry… Wait I’m not sorry. I’m trying to get everything done as quickly as I can.» I was completely appalled at his reaction. That was the problem with the catering, they got everything done quickly with no regard to quality and customer service. That’s why their food and service sucked! I started this review with 2 stars but now that I recall the event of the catering, I am bringing it down to one. I really wanted the food to be a highlight of the wedding (that’s why I paid so much) and I stated that to Jennifer from the very beginning but instead it was an utter disappointment and embarrassment. Of course I still had a great time at the end of the night but I wish I didn’t waste my money on them. Now that I am pregnant I thought for a second about hosting my baby shower there but then the horrible service came back to my memory. I will never ever rent a venue from them again.

Just finished at an event here. The staff went above and beyond. They were amazing.
