Recently had to rush my GF to Lutheran ER as she had terrible chest pains. She was seen by a PA or Nurse Practitioner. This idiot woman thought she was exhibiting ‘drug seeking behavior’ and tried to send her home. Needless to say WEDEMANDED A REALDOCTOR. Long story short, AFTEREMERGENCYHEARTSURGERY and almost a two week stay she is OK. They do have some good Cardio Docs there. I also have to say the ATTITUDETOWARDPAINMANAGEMENTATLUTHERANISDISMAL. I had to check on every dose. It seemed that if their patients weren’t screaming or crying the nurses were reluctant to dispense pain medication. THATISNOTPAINMANAGEMENTPEOPLE!!! I got into several arguments with nurses over getting ordered doses given. In addition when she was admitted the Cardio Doc ordered her pain medication ‘STAT’. It took five(5) hours to get it administered. If you are having elective surgery, I would think long and hard about going here as you will likely not have your surgery pain managed well, if at all.

As I lay in the emergency room, with a morphine drip IV in my arm, a clerk wheeled a computer into the room on a cart, and asked, «How much would you like to pay for your visit today?».(Please note that I had already been registered and provided my insurance information.)

Staff was great. Please beware though, I couldn’t figure out why they did brain surgery on my brother when he only lived one month(surgery went great) or why they kept my Dad in eleven days after a heart attack because he had blood in his urine until I found out that the hospital is doctor owned. I begged some young cardiologist to take my dad off Lipitor because I did not want him taking his legs away. The staff let Dad know he had the right to refuse. Two days later when he went down, they sent him home on hospice, not doubt to get rid of the liability(Co Enz Q10 helped to give his strength back). The bleeding stopped as soon as they pulled the meds. Jerk.

The Hospital is nice. Nurses are friendly. But you know what i would like to see– A hospital cafeteria that has good healthy choices of food. No fried chicken lets try Kale, Mustard greens, Spinach, better bread choices beside’s white or wheat. How do hospital’s get a way with Shit for food. I mean come on isn’t it time they Mix healthy food choices and medicine. I’d like to see a hospital with a Juice bar! and packed full of vegetable’s and healthier choice’s of protein’s …
