Definitely loved the vegetarian options. The portions are pretty small, but the food is delicious, and the service was just fine. I’d like to go back.

Come here all the time for the boba tea. Real authentic taste. I love the tapioca but their popping boba has a variety of flavors so it’s pretty good too. Definitely recommend stopping by

First time here and I must say I was impressed. Not my usual style of food and I was a little off put by the cold noodle bowl. They were out of the tapioca for the bubble drinks, but made a suggestion to try the popping boba. The wife loved it. Maybe her new favorite drink. I had a pineapple tea and it was perfect. After realizing the noodles are rice and not prepared in a lo mein style, I was very pleased with it. Took a few bites to get used to it, but I would try it again. The wife had a Korean BBQ sandwich and it was great, albeit a little small… If you want to try something different and freshly made… it’s well worth the stop.

Went in for some Bubble smoothies a few days ago. And they were delicious. I will go back just for those alone. I can’t wait to try some of the soup and other food when I go back.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. We finally did last weekend. Overall, the food was good, but I’ve had better Vietnamese food in Fort Wayne. We had beef phở and Korean BBQ sandwiches(carryout). The Phở was good, but not as flavorful as I would have preferred. I had to add all the sauces and sprouts, lime, cilantro, etc… to get good flavor, although there were no jalapeños in my carryout. I will say that the beef was very tender and good. The Korean BBQ sandwich was pretty good. I asked for it to be spicy and it wasn’t very spicy at all. I do plan to go back to try all the unique Barista items available such as some unique flavors of teas. The restaurant was clean and the food was prepared in a timely fashion. If you want decent Phở come here. If you want amazing Phở, hit up Kim Vu’s on DuPont.

I ordered the daily special, but was told that it changed because they no longer had something on the menu. I asked about what changed and she point blank said she didn’t know. I said ok, I’ll go ahead with it. Whatever you give me is fine… lol FYI — They have electronic TV menu boards, so it would be easy to change in order to avoid confusion. Place was SLOW and I observed dirty dishes piled up on a table and counters that needed to be wiped down. Anyway, my surprise dish was good. I ended up with a pork chop, over easy egg atop white rice and a salad. It turned out fine. Service was clunky and awkward to say the least. They also had a sign that said due to server issues, no debit credit, cash only. I sat and ate and watched customers come and go because they couldn’t process credit card.

My first time here, this place compares to all of the bah mi places back in Tampa. The meat is seasoned perfectly, vegetables are fresh & the teas are brewed flavorfully. This place will continue to get my business. Great food.

I usually never go this far north for food, but after the reviews, I had to try it out. Great sandwiches. Only wish: start serving beer :)

My 5-star review is based solely on their Bubble Tea(Boba). AWESOME. I had the blended avocado with traditional Boba; my husband had the blended Taro with traditional Boba. We both agreed that these were the best bubble teas we’ve found in Indiana. Yum. Creamy, sweet, & perfect consistency. We will be back here next time we’re in town! We can’t wait to try the Phở

My daughter and I have been eyeing Banh Mi Barista for some time when we visit Fort Wayne, so we were excited to give it a try. She had the vegetarian phở, while I slurped up the chicken noodle bowl. The consensus is that is is a great little place to stop by for a quick lunch, with solid, but not outstanding food. She commented that the phở broth was not as rich as she would have hoped, but the tofu and mushroom toppings were excellent. My noodle bowl was tasty, but not substantial enough on its own for lunch. The servers were pleasant and helpful, and they answered our questions about the menu. Would we stop by again? Yes — in particular to try the sandwiches.

I stopped in for lunch. The place is clean but not particularly fancy. I ordered a pork bahn mi(spicy) and a pineapple bubble tea. I sat down and waited for my order which came out pretty quickly. The bahn mi was sooooo good. I could have ordered another one. The meat was seasoned really well and together with the toppings and the toasted bun, perfection! I could have used more jalapenos though. I’m assuming that is the distinction between not spicy, mild, and spicy. They forgot to put bubbles in my bubble tea so that was really weird and the only reason they didn’t get five stars.

Came here for phở and bubble tea after reading good reviews online. The restaurant itself was a mess– dirty dishes on almost every table, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Ordered a Lavender Bubble Tea and they were sold out, so the employee offered a Chai tea instead which I accepted but they were out of tapioca as well. As I was ordering two more people came up with problems with their drinks(also complaining that they were sold out of everything). Ended up getting a hot green tea which was so hot I couldn’t drink it without adding ice! The kitchen does not appear to be well staffed and clearly isn’t well stocked. The food was overpriced in my opinion, but only moderately so. I ordered the beef phở and pork and shrimp spring rolls. Spring rolls were good– can’t really go wrong with them. The beef phở was average and had fat deposits on the surface which I’m not accustomed to(I’ve heard this is a symptom of poor phở, but I don’t know what the rules are in phở making) and the flavor was disappointing without the added sauce and lime. Hope this place works on their stock in order to stay in business. Staff seem friendly and hard working– but they can only serve with what they are given! Bonus points to the server who brought me the extra sauces: fish sauce, chili sauce, and a noodle bowl sauce. They were all delicious! I think this place is best for take out!

This place is great — The sandwiches are delicious, soups are awesome, bubble teas are phenomenal. It’s clean, with slightly slow but friendly service. Nothing fancy but great for a lunch stop. My fifth star is being knocked off because I watched them make my sandwich one time when I got it to-go and it was incredibly disappointing to watch them put veggies in a plastic bag and microwave them. This cannot be good for anybody — microwaved plastic? I wish they would find a different method.

Tasty Korean BBQ sandwich, beef phở, and green mango bubble tea with lychee poppina boba bubble tea. This place is a winner just off the highway. Also got a Viet special sandwich. Spicy meant spicy!

I’m actually jealous of this restaurant. I want one of these in Columbus(Ohio). I had the Korean BBQ banh mi, which was DELICIOUS. If you haven’t had banh mi, it’s basically like a Vietnamese sub: a meat or protein option with pickled and fresh crunchy veg on a baguette. Banh Mi Barista uses mayo/butter spread, as well(sandwiches with butter have been my obsession ever since I had it at another banh mi restaurant – move over, mayo, I’m all about dat butter). The Korean BBQ sandwich is spicy as well and comes with a delicious spicy sauce, though not all banh mi are spicy. I also had the noodles out of my friend’s phở(we have a phở symbiosis sometimes – he loves the broth, I love the noodles) and they were delish. Everything was really, really good. Oh, did I mention that the banh mi was like four bucks? Yeah. It’s a bargain and it’s amazing. Even if you’re not an Asian food fan, you could fall in love with this restaurant. It’s not stereotypical Americanized Asian food; the flavors are fresher and, well, who doesn’t love noodle soup and sandwiches?

Good food /great service and a hidden gem. Love finding places like this. Although the food would be rated a 4 star on its own the service is what takes this place overboard. It seems to a family run place and the friendly faces seem to know everyone of their regular customers. If you are ever in the area, definitely a place to try out. I had the chicken Phở which was decent(chicken seemed a bit salty, but not enough to deduct a star). Good luck.

One of the best phos I’ve ever had!(Is that right? How the heck do you pluralize phở anyway?) I was recently in the area and craving phở, and FW Unilocalers did not steer me wrong! Like the best Vietnamese spots, Banh Mi Barista is nestled in a strip mall, so don’t let the unassuming location fool you. Banh Mi is a really adorable family-run restaurant. The folks working were super sweet and helpful, and they took great care of us. The one thing that threw me for a loop was the weekly phở schedule. That’s not a bad thing – I just wasn’t used to it. I’m usually a phở ga fan(chicken phở), but it wasn’t available the night I went. So instead, I had phở bo, which I normally avoid because I can get weird with beef. But it was so incredibly delicious! No weird pieces of meat, lots of fresh accoutrements, and THATBROTH. It was big, bold, spicy, complex… perfection. Everything phở should be. If you live in FW and haven’t been to Banh Mi Barista, what are you waiting for?! And if you’re an out-of-towner like me and craving delicious phở, this is your spot. Pro tip: Vegetarians, there’s a phở just for you too!

Wow– I can now say I am a Vietnamese fan. I was a virgin to this delectable cuisine until a few days ago. Boy, have I been missing out. Tucked into a small strip off Coldwater Road it could be easily missed. It is a place you know is authentic the second you walk in the door. Upon my friend’s suggestion I ordered the beef phở. Not knowing what to expect I also ordered the Korean BBQ sandwich. I should’ve guessed with the phở costing about $ 3 more than the sandwich that Korean soup portions are large. The Korean BBQ arrived first. I was blown away by this four dollar and some change sandwich. Packed full of flavor and spiciness, this was my kind of sandwich. The phở arrived a few minutes later. I added some basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, and jalopenos. The broth was amazing. The beef was amazing. The noodles were some of the best noodles I have had in general. My friends agreed that this potentially was the best phở they have had and they have some more mileage in the Vietnamese eating game than I do. Can’t wait for another visit and to check out their bubble teas :)
