The service was less than friendly. The cooler was broke so the beer was warm, they ran out of spoons so I used a fork for my fried ice cream, and the ground beef was nasty. I would not visit this place ever again!

Just did take out from this place. It was delicious! I had the Pollo Poblano. The portion was huge, I have left overs for tomorrow. The chicken was perfect, the cheese was was yummy! The rice was not dried out like most restaurants. Definitely great food. Only reason for four and not five stars. They didn’t give me plastic utensils of even napkins with my order. They are situated directly across of a hotel with a lot of business travelers who tended to have to eat out. The least they could have done was ask if I needed any. But overall I loved the food. Definitely worth the money.

Had a great time on Saturday night. Our server Alondra was friendly, attentive, but not pushy. Service was great. Food was excellent. We went through 3 ½ baskets of those super yummy warm fresh tortilla chips with 2 bottles of the salsa. Just could not stop eating them. Thankfully, we still had enough room for our dinners. My 15 yer old daughter and I both had the Tequila Shrimp tacos — wonderful. Plump, tender shrimp with excellent flavor. Rice was great as was the black beans, salsa and chipolte cream sauce. My niece had the taco salad and really enjoyed it & her daughter had a burrito that was huge, filled with yumminess. We were in town for a family event. Wish we had one of these restaurants here in Chicago.

Good food, but poor service. From disappearing forever before taking our order, taking too long to get drinks, and taking forever to bring the check, this place is slow. Don’t come here if your in a hurry.

There were 2 things that marred my experience here. The first being very slow service. We started out with a vibrant charismatic waiter who was ending his shift, he turned our table over to a waitress who clearly had more pressing matters to attend, what the were I can’t begin to tell you. Once the energy level dipped with our new server, we placed our order and to my surprise, I got NOTHINGNEAR what I ordered. I made the dour duchess aware immediately, to which her reply was«so, you don’t want it» me being slighty aghast, replied, «well no cuz I didn’t order this» …all down hill from there. I actually paid for a meal I neither ordered nor ate. Never again, never again.

Flew into town from Atlanta for a week for a customer visit. I moved to the Atlanta area from the Bay Area 8 years ago. Two things I miss from the Bay Area: In-N-Out Burgers and Arroz Con Pollo from Celias Mexican Restaurant in Daly City and San Bruno. I was looking through Unilocal and saw Agaves. I looked at the menu and saw that they had Arroz Con Pollo on their menu. I was debating, «Should I go? It was 8′ outside, but felt it felt like –6′ with a wind chill. I was also giving up a good parking space near the Hotel Lobby doors. I was curious about the Arroz Con Pollo and took the dive. I had to warm up the car in the hotel parking lot. I sat in the car, freezing with a thick jacket, while the car engine warmed up for 10 minutes. I walked into Agaves front door at 8:55pm. They close at 10:00. The waitress immediately greeted me and seated me in the bar area. I ordered a water, a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup, and Arroz Con Pollo. The waitress brought a basket of chips, a small dipping bowl of salsa, and a small carafe with additional salsa. The chips were good. The salsa was good, but it tasted like it came out of a can and wasn’t homemade. Reminds me of Grocery store salsa found in the potato chip aisle. Afterwards, the waitress brought out a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup. The kitchen made a bowl instead of a cup. The waitress informed me of the mistake, and that she would charge me for the cup. Soup was good. It was a good relief from the cold weather outside. A short time later, The waitress brought out the Arroz Con Pollo. The Arroz Con Pollo is basically Queso poured on top of small fried chicken strips on top of a bed of rice. The Queso reminds me of the Queso found at Moes Southwest Grill. The Arroz Con Pollo wasn’t bad. I would go back to Agaves to try other entrees. I guess I was hoping it would be similar to the Arroz Con Pollo at Celias Restaurant in the Bay Area. The Arroz Con Pollo at Celias consists of cooked cubed Chicken, wine sauce, cheese, possibly mushrooms, and some other spices on top of a bed of rice. When I discovered this dish at Celias in 2001, I always went back and never looked at the menu again. Whenever I travel to the Bay Area, I try to go to Celias a few times. See picture URL below. Pretty good food for a Mexican restaurant. I have had better, but they offer a lot of value for your money. I got the agave Special Dinner and it was so much food for $ 11. The service was a little slow and they forgot my order. I was there a very long time for being a party of 1. But it was busy and friendly, and others seemed to get their food pretty quickly. Not bad for what it is.

Food was good, not the best I’ve had but good. This is defiantly an Americanized Mexican restaurant. Our server was super friendly, but that being said I ordered the pastor tacos and the grilled fish tacos and it took a very long time to get… Tacos! Shouldn’t have take as long as it did. But that being said they were good, the fish tacos were very good as well. I would eat here again.(Note) that this place is a little on the expensive side, but I had coupon so it made dinner for 2 only $ 25 after tax and tip.

The best word to describe Agaves is «inconsistent». My last visit the food tasted almost like it had been heated in the microwave. It has been over three months and I have found better Mexican since. I would recommend Casa Grande on Stellhorn.

Very good food at a very good price. I’m not sure what the complaints here are about… I had a unique and delicious dish called a Mexican lasagna which had lots of chicken and melted cheese, it came with a salad and all the chips and salsa you could eat. With a glass of water the grand total came to a bank breaking eight dollars and nine cents! Also, it was happy hour and the margaritas were a buck ninety nine! Yeah it was pre-made but my buddy had one and said it was fine. He enjoyed his food, too. It was a bit busy and the service was sometimes slow, but nothing to complain about. We just got to town on business and I will definitely be going back.

Standard Mexican fare at above average prices… the ambiance is great in this newly constructed restaurant. I ordered the blue burrito, and it had everything you could ever want, and smothered in cheese sauce! Beef, chicken, and shrimp with beans, corn, and rice to round out the insides. Accompanied by margaritas by the pitcher to share with friends. Good food, but prices were slightly higher than expected, but a solid 3 star joint. With so many choices around this one fails to make the list.

We stopped in while on a mini vacation and really enjoyed it! The food is good, the atmosphere is really nice and relaxed and our waitress was the nicest lady! When we were done eating she brought us boxes and even a box and bowl for the left over salsa on the table. They asked our where we wanted to sit and I had asked for a booth to help keep our 3 year old seated and they asked us if where they wanted to sit us was ok before they sat us. We will defiantly be stopping back when we’re up this way again!

Wow, not good! Food was almost inedible and I’m a Mexican food freak. Rita’s were pre made mix, watered down and sweet tasting. I always say, «bad mexi is still better than other foods» but I’m doubting my motto right now!

Was in town on business, stopped in for lunch. Ordered Carne Asada Tacos which is my favorite mexican dish. The meat was extremely bland. The rice wasn’t good, and the beans were nothing special. The chips and salsa was the best part of the meal. My server didn’t come back to ask how everything was until I was on my second taco(didn’t even end up eating the third). When he asked how the food was, I responded«oh, it’s okay» in a very disappointed tone. He responded«good!» with a smile on his face. Really?! Don’t ask how my food is if you don’t really care whether I’m satisfied or not.

Love this place. Doesn’t have the atmosphere of a Mexican restaurant… closer to fine dining. So, in a Mexican place, it’s kind of weird. But once you try the food… who cares? Chips & salsa our excellent and so are the margaritas. Service is always good. My significant other and I alternate between here and Dos Margaritas. You can’t go wrong at either place.

I would have to say this is one of the better mexican restaurants in the Fort. What they lack in authenticity they make up in hearty, filling, and tasty dishes. You can get all the favorites of course, fajitas, burritos, chimichangas. They have an ala carte menu, and dinner entres. I’m pretty sure I saw vegetarian options(but being a meat eater, I quickly scanned over them.) Their jumbo margaritas are delicious and quite strong! I can have one while waiting for my food, and my head is a spinnin’!! Real reason I choose this restaurant over say… Casa? CHEESEDIP! Absolutely the best queso dip in Fort Wayne. mmmmmmmmmm… cheese…

Service was good and food was good. Had the pollo poblano which was just the right amount of food. Clean atmosphere and we loved the décor. Our only complaint is the chips. They tasted like out-of-the-bag average tortilla chips. Otherwise, had an enjoyable lunch.
