Le Creuset Outlet Store

Great customer service, expected more of a «deal» from the outlet store. Though they do have retired colors/​items, the discount isn’t that great. Maybe retailers sell their items now and I’ve found better deals many other places.

The cookware is great, but do your homework rather than trusting the sales staff… I should have.
At long last, I was ready to invest in a Le Creuset french oven, and wanted a blue one. I was originally interested in the marseille blue color, but the saleslady steered me towards a slightly darker blue called cobalt, telling me that the marseille blue was about to be discontinued. Since I wanted to purchase coordinating pieces in the future (which I mentioned to the saleslady when I specifically asked about the colors), I therefore chose the cobalt blue. The 5.5 quart french oven was a little cheaper than that size Amazon, but not by all that much.
It was only when looking for coordinating pieces online a few weeks later that I learned that the cobalt blue is a color unique to the outlet — COBALT is actually the color that was discontinued a few years ago and was replaced by the marseille blue. This was not disclosed by the saleslady when I specifically asked. So theres no way to purchase other pieces in that color except to trek back to the outlet and hope they happen to have whatever I’m looking for in stock. I’ve also found no indication anywhere that the marseille blue is going to be discontinued any time soon.

This store is amazing if you’re a DC area fan of Le Creuset. Absolutely…
The store is about twice as big as the full-​price Bethesda store, and looks like it offers more colors.
It is important to know that Le Creuset outlets mostly carry the ‘Classic’ line, which has smaller handles and a lid knob oven safe to 375 deg F, whereas the ‘Signature’ line has larger handles and the lid knob is safe to 500 deg F.
The cooking performance is absolutely the same… Umm $ 200 versus $ 400 hello…
Still, there are ‘Signature’ pieces to be had at this location.
Some colors cost less than others, and the «seconds» hardly have a blemish on them.
Basically, it’s beautiful cookware that is fantastic to cook in.
