I only had the chance to visit once during my recent vacation to Fort Walton and it was AH-mazing! Seriously the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. The reviews are ratings were convincing enough to give a try. Besides I’m a sushi lover and I could pass up the opportunity to give this highly recommended establishment a try. My significant other absolutely hates sushi so I had to check the menu prior to visiting to make sure he’d have some options to choose from before going and they did. The place is small and there wasn’t much room for seating when we arrived but we were seated within 10 minutes. There may be some difficulty seating a party of 4 or more. Especially during peak hours. We started off with the Wontons appetizer which was phenomenal. My significant other ordered a ginger salad, teriyaki chicken and an order of fried rice. All had to be purchased separately. None of the entrees come with any sides. I ended up ordering The Kraken specialty sushi roll and I was very pleased with my choice. I will definitely visit again in future.

Researched a few places in Ft. Walton area to eat as well as talking to people on the street. This place has a great reputation in the area not only from helpers but local word of mouth. We were really impressed with then variety of Japanese beer and Sake available. Had a Mango Tango and Cowboy rolls and were very pleased with quality and presentation. Service was very prompt and friendly. Definitely THE place to go for sushi.

Great customer service, food was served fast and most of all it was delicious. Waiter was nice enough to give us a free shot of Sake each to try for the first time. I’d recommend for Sushi and Sake.

The rolls were small and overpriced, taste was ok. We also ordered the Sashimi Us(chefs choice) 24 pieces for $ 40. The chef must be cheap because we got some regular sashimi, no octopus, squid or eel. Sashimi was fresh, but if you get it alone, it’s $ 4/piece! That’s ridiculous for a restaurant like this, it’s not even a 5 star restaurant and they wanna charge that kind of price. $ 70 for two small rolls and 24 pieces of sashimi. I gave them a 3 because service was good and sashimi was fresh.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I go there to eat problem 2 or 3 times a week. They have amazing sushi and a large sake menu. They have steak and bacon rolls for the non fish eaters such as my husband. He LOVES them. I typically get roles made with cucumber. NORICE so I don’t feel like I’m cheating on my diet The atmosphere is amazing and everyone that works there is always friendly and smiling. It’s my go to place!!! $

For the past six months people have been telling me to try Soi Bistro because of their excellent sushi. I did finally get around to trying it, but not their sushi. I came for lunch during the work week with a large group of 9, and everything went smoothly. Ordering was easy, food came out in a timely manner, and their were no issues when the checks came out. We each ordered a variety of food off the menu: lunch special teriyaki bowl, lunch special bulgogi bowl, the Kitchen Sink bowl, and some sushi. I ordered the pork bulgogi bowl lunch special since I had heard that Soi Bistro use to be a Korean restaurant. I was in for a very pleasant surprise though when my order came out. It wasn’t so much of a bowl of Korean pork bulgogi as it was Japanese donburi. I haven’t had donburi since I moved out of Midtown Atlanta, so needless to say I was ecstatic. I ordered the fried rice vs the steamed rice as the foundation for the bowl and the other portion was an assortment of stir-fried veggies. Snap peas, tons of onions, carrots, sliced zucchini, and mushrooms. Highly recommend their donburi/bulgogi if you’ve been searching for it or if you have only tried Korean bulgogi.

AWESOME sushi. Service is fabulous. GREAT wait staff & Sushi chefs. Ambience is very Japanese themed with a sushi bar. Great selection of beer, sake, wine & craft cocktails. Four was DELICIOUS! I had the Grilled Hamachi cheeks which were fabulous. One of my favorite items at Sushi restaurants. Perfectly cooked & light, flaky! I went several times. BARNONE: The Boombastic roll ROCKED. Flavored were incredible! Double Dragon was VERY good! Kraken Roll was okay. Not as flavorful. Least favorite. Loved the Echigo rice beer! Light & refresh but had great flavor!

Good sushi. Although its family friendly its best saved for a date night without young kids. Stopped in for dinner with both kids in tow and wish we chose a less«hip» place to dine with the family. Sushi was yummy and fresh. Decently priced. Service was ok took a while to get the check after our meal.

This place is awesome! Sushi is priced a tad bit higher than other places in the area but the quality I would definitely pay more for. Sushi was really fresh and sashimi was good. They even have this beer my husband likes so that’s extra brownie points. Service was fast and nice. Inside is not what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s half booth and half chairs hugging around the restaurant if that makes sense, and a big sushi bar. This place has got to be one of the best sushi spots in town.

High quality sushi for a reasonable price! The sushi chef really takes the time to make it presentable and delicious! Upscale, trendy ambiance with a pleasant buzz of noise from this popular new spot! I can see myself having many dinner dates here while exploring a new sushi roll every time

This is my first 5 star review and I give it for the following reasons: 1) Servers are friendly„ knowledgeable and attentive 2) Atmosphere and ambiance is welcoming 3) Clean and décor has clean lines and unpretentious 4) Food was excellent 5) I’ve been to Sushi places in big cities and considering this is Fort Walton Beach, it’s comparable My wife found this place on Unilocal and I was hesitant to go because I’ve experienced 4 or 5 stars before that fell flat. This however was great. We had the Yakisoba, Ssam(it’s a lettuce wrap) with choice of meats, Mr. Bombastic roll and Blazin Asian rolls. Must try if in FWB area. I’m kinda a restaurant snob, so I’m even surprised I rated this high.

Love it! Couldn’t be more pleased with the food or the service. Great sushi and hot food choices. Warm décor. The bulging bowl was a pleasant surprise. The squid salad was the best I have ever had and I routinely get sushi in San Francisco. Would highly recommend a quick stop if you are in town.

The sushi was good, but the service was better. Nice atmosphere with fresh sushi. We had the Cookie Monster, volcano and sky walker. We also tried the green tea Mochi for dessert. Great service though.

Delicious! Try their Mr. Bombastic Roll! Its refreshing and light! If this sushi joint was in New Orleans… they would be super packed. I am such a sushi snob! I use to work at a sushi bar and I know sushi! This roll has gotten me so worked up! I would just eat this roll only if I could. Great fish to rice ratio! IF you are in town… give this place a whirl!!!

I read the reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed. We were given two menus, one for the rolls and the other for everything else. We got rolls so I’ll focus on that. They have quite a few options. I got the Ragin’ Cajun(10 spicy pieces) and the Highway 98(6 pieces). The Ragin Cajun is spiced crawfish, cucumber and asparagus topped with avocado and salmon crab crunch. I like spice, especially when it maintains good flavor. This had just that, amazing. The highway 98 is like a fried roll with shrimp, salmon, cream cheese, jalepeno and avocado. While delicious, it was a little too warm for sushi. I can see why this place is so highly spoken of. Glad I came, can’t wait to come back.

Nothing bad to say about this place. Very clean and modern inside. Good music choices(hello Bassnectar). Menu was extremely diverse and well put together. Sushi was superb. I got the Yellowtail Crunch and Thriller. Both were very spot on and the food was delicious! Perhaps the best sushi spot I’ve ever been to! Definitely come in!

Good things take time. While you’re waiting for the best sushi in town just remember that. Wow. I mean wow. Fort Walton Beach is notorious for bad Asian food, but Soi completely breaks that mold. Until now, the closest place for good sushi was the Slippery Mermaid in Navarre. I am SO glad I don’t have to brave Hwy-98 and drive 30 minutes for Sushi any more. I love the décor inside, super modern, and they always have cool movies or sports playing in the background. Soi Bistro is pretty cozy inside, so its not ideal for big groups. Sake!: Before Soi, I had almost always had warm sake and thought it was good… but Lisa, one of the waitresses, completely changed my mind… Trust me on this one. Skip the hot sake, indulge yourself and try Dassai 50 or Wishing Well… Remember, Sake is NOT a shot. So pour, sip, and enjoy the complex flavors Lunch: Man oh man, I haven’t had Bulgogi this good since Korea. Definitely recommend the Bulgogi bowl for lunch. Rice, Beef Bulgogi and veggies… what could be better? All they need next is to add Bi-Bim-Bap to the menu. I haven’t had the chance to branch out too much at lunch yet… but why would I? The Bulgogi bowl is too darned good… that being said, my friend had a sashimi bowl the other day and really enjoyed it as well. Dinner: On to sushi, because this is why you’re here right?! Right. Its a pretty comprehensive menu that takes you from beginner to advanced. I definitely recommend the Seaweed Salad to start off with… it may sound weird, but its incredible. The flavor is not nearly as intrusive as you would expect from Seaweed. You cant go wrong with any of the sushi rolls, but the Cookie Monster and Mr. Bombastic are hands down my favorites. Hopefully ill get all the way down the list to find some hidden gems over the next couple months. Honestly, my two biggest critiques are the service and the bathrooms. They have been open a couple months now, so I would expect the wrinkles to be ironed out. Personally, I have never had bad service and the wait staff is always friendly and welcoming. Yet, last time I ate at Soi, the couple sitting next to me waited almost 15 minutes before getting menus(Some of the wait staff lack the attention to detail that would take Soi to the next level) The bathrooms are clean! But could definitely take some updating. Fix those, and this will be the best restaurant in town! Soi Bistro, best Sushi in town, bar none. Just remember, they’re making each roll by hand, and this is not fast food. Enjoy the Sushi, Enjoy the Sake and Enjoy eating at Soi. You’ll love it. ***Update!*** While I had previously been a little picky on my past review, the service has gotten way better! They’ve definitely taken the time to iron out the wrinkles and growing pains of the first year. Soi can do no wrong!!!

Weekend getaway to Ft Walton Beach, did a quick search, came across Soi Bistro, good reviews, so we gave it a try. Newer restaurant with a fresh & modern remodel. Friendly & prompt staff. Sushi selection is truly a good mix of traditional and modern. For appetizers, she ordered the wontons and I had the tsunami salad(seaweed & squid), which were both amazing – no exaggeration. For rolls, she ordered the gator(tuna/salmon/asparagus/cream cheese), and the blazin(?) Asian(chopped tuna, Thai chili… forgot the rest) for me. Very, very tasty! Would’ve like more heat with mine, but still very good. If you are genuine sushi fans, I would imagine Soi Bistro is one of the better places in the area. Good atmosphere, great staff, even better food, and all at reasonable prices. We will most certainly go back on our next trip here.

Mr. Bombastic roll — this is ! hands down our tables favorite roll! Every bite bursting with lime flavor! refreshing type of roll. Thai delight — a little similar to Mr. Bombastic without the lime burst of flavor. Spicy and light tasting! Kawaii roll — riceless — very good since it’s filled with good fish. Naruto roll — riceless — not very good since it uses Krab as its main meat. Dragon roll — okay… not bad, but I’m not sold on their eel. They do have a good variety of rolls that I am interested in. Restaurant is small but has ample seatings. Great sushi restaurant in this small area. Service — was good at first, but then I think they forgot to put in an order. Took a while to get our Bombastic roll, but still well worth the wait! If I lived here, I would definitely frequent this restaurant 1−2x/month!
