I’m gonna start out by saying that I have been spoiled with great Thai food from living in Korea over the past year… Which means I walked into Siam Garden with my bar set pretty high. We arrived about 10 minutes after noon on Sunday… and they had just opened. People were definitely not in line to eat here as we were the first ones in the lot… as I quipped to my girlfriend sarcastically«Must be great, since the parking lot is packed.» But I figured we were in the early lunch crowd, and more people would be showing up. Décor seemed slightly off for a Thai place, a little old and outdated… I guess the mothball analogy from earlier was suiting, but that would not have been the single cause to get me to walk out… but to each owner his own… I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai — Medium spice, as I figured it was probably the safest thing to order for a place like this… you can always branch out on another visit. The service was good, nothing over the top, but being the only people in there until about half way through our meal you kind of expect them to pay attention to you. We did get a nice ginger and peanut oil salad… which was pretty tasty! And honestly the Pad Thai was ok. All of the ingredients seemed fresh, but over all it was pretty bland… The taste that you expect from Pad Thai was there, but it was a little too subtle for my liking. And I was not a fan of the cabbage mixed into the rice noodles… it seemed to be a little bit of a filler to me. As my first Thai restaurant to try out in the area, I really hope that this is not the best Thai joint as other Unilocalers have previously reviewed… Siam Garden was good, but forgettable… To quote Unilocal«Meh… I’ve experienced better.»

There is quite a bit of competition in FWB when it comes to Thai and this is by far our favorite. The food is always very fresh– the stir frys are never under or overdone. My personal favorite is a dish with Thai basil and peppers in a light brown sauce. In the summertime they serve fresh mangoes and sticky rice– such a delicious seasonal treat! The food is very fresh– the cook grows a lot of her own vegetables. I’m pretty sure it’s just one lady in the back so they can get overwhelmed if busy but I think it’s worth it! Very friendly staff, too.

The food was great. I tried two different plus the fried wontons and it fantastic. The service is slow but it’s a family run restaurant so get over it. The restaurant is clean and quiet. It is reasonable price and I will definitely be back for more!

I love their food. Everything I have tasted from them was good. The place is always clean and it’s cheap. The service is not the greatest, they’re slow. I do recommend it despite that. Their spring roll and Thai omelet are my favorite!

This is my second time here and was great both times. Service is good and tea never ran empty. Very good Thai egg rolls and chicken pad Thai.

Best Thai food in ft Walton beach hands down. Ask for a Thai fried rice. It’s amazing. All the negative reviews don’t even make sense to me. I’ve tried every Thai shop in town. This one by far deserves 9 stars! my wife hated Thai and this place open up her liking for Thai food!

Went here today and had the Thai Beef Salad. It was good. The meat was well seasoned but a little chewy. Service was a little slow for a slow lunch day. I’d come back though

I was going to try this establishment for dinner except when I walked through the front door the smell of mothballs invaded my nostrils. I turned around and walked out. It smelled like and old closet that was devoid of moths and patrons.

I’ve tried this place 3 times — and I’ve wasted my money 3 times. Just say no. Too many other good Thai restaurants in the area to be lured into this trap.

@Sway A: I guess I was wrong about the nice staff! Nope, there was no rush. Your food is bland and mediocre, I tried 3 things and they all sucked. There’s more to good food than just being fresh. There are plenty of good Thai places in town, eat at some of those then compare them to your food. There’s a reason you’re empty at lunchtime. You have some good reviews on other sites, either they are old or your cooks vary a lot in quality.

Not sure where Adam P. Ate, but having lived 7 years in Thailand, I found this place to be delicious. I order the noodle soup or the Laap, pad Thai or Green curry. I love the family atmosphere and the fact that I can talk to the kitchen staff to get what I want if it is not on the menu. Great prices, great food.
