I’ve been to my fair share of DFACs in my day(15 years and counting in this mans Army)… And I must say, shockingly(as Ft Sill is garbage) Garcia Dining Facility is on point for the nation. Very large dining facility and facilitates most of the permanent party troops as well as TDY/NCOES/PMG-SMG students. Plenty of seating available for everyone. Love the sports theme. Flags and pennants of every Major League Baseball team and NFL football team hang from the ceiling. «Fat Head» life size wall decorations of NBA players and soccer players, MLB and NFL are plastered all over the walls. TVs line the walls as well playing ESPN all day. It’s the most«Sports Bar» kinda DFAC I’ve ever seen. And in Friday’s all the workers get to wear their favorite sports teams hat while working the line. Makes for good conversation with a young troop when you see him/her wearing your team, or rival team lol. The food … That’s what we really wanna know about right? The food is on point. They have the«short order» line of course. The grill where you can get burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese or grilled ham and cheese, fries and onion rings, chili and cheese etc. we know what short order offers. It ain’t healthy, but sometimes it’s good and a necessary evil on a Friday evening. The main line is as most main lines are… Rotational always having meats like beef, chicken, fish etc. Starches, mixed veggies. Anything from pot roast to baked ham, crab legs and lobsters and steaks, BBQ chicken, baked chicken, ribs, lasagna, chicken cordon bleu, chicken Parmesan, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls and cornbread and on and on and on. It’s all rotational but all those items I named I have at one time or another eaten from the main line. The gem, in my opinion, is this cool other line. Not short order, not main line. But themed… They have a grill and use it wisely. For example, one day(it’s open daily with a different theme daily I just forget the days. Except Tuesday, Tuesday is tacos for sure lol) you approach and they have all these ingredients, rice, noodles, chickens, beef, pork, veggies and on and on… You choose whatever items you want, then select rice or noodles, and they add it all into a wok right there and fry it up for you. Tuesday’s they make quesadillas and tacos for you on that grill, one of the days they toss wings in any sauce you want and grill them up, another day they have spaghetti and fettuccine with several sauces and meats that they will toss together and cook it in a wok for you. It’s awesome. 4⁄5 days I’ll eat whatever themed food they have at that line. Love it. Full salad bar. Only thing I ever ate off it was baby spinach and Maybe used the cheese to add to my tacos. But fill means full. All the salads you want and other Radom veggies. Dessert island/bar?! Nailed it. Always a huge amount of cookies, cakes/pies and Radom desserts available. Also there is a soft serve ice cream machine always on and ready. On various holidays the staff will bake themed cakes. Like huge ones shaped like a flag or a Humvee or all kinds of near designs. They do a god job at it. Drinks age normal. 4 soda machines and 4 juice machines and water is available. Milk of course. Skim-2%-chocolate. All in all, maybe I’m going crazy form spending ALMOST1 entire year TDY at Ft Sill(Lawton sucks so bad), but in 15 yrs, I haven’t been to a better DFAC than Garcia Dining Facility… Yet.

This is the best DFAC at Fort Sill in my opinion. The food is good, service is usually pretty fast(especially considering the lunch crowd) and there is excellent variety of foods to choose from. The best meal of the day is lunch… it’s the busiest meal I go to and they tend to have the most selections during this meal. Depending on the day, they have baked potato bar, stir-fry bar, soul food, etc. Every day they have the traditional«main line» as well as a sandwich bar and short order line. I just wish they were open on the weekends!
