In small towns across the country finding a decent place to eat and have a cold beer can be a challenge. Fort Recovery has Trusty Woods, which has a bit of a sports bar type atmosphere with tasty food and a decent selection of very cold beers. There are no draught beers, just bottles, but with the varied choices one can happily find something to drink. For food, the menu looks extensive, but I went with the meatball nachos which were perfect as I needed to be somewhere and didn’t have a lot of time to wait for a fuller meal. The nachos were delish, with perfectly seasoned crumbles of meatloaf on top of a bed of house made pita-type chips, with cheese and onions. Portion size was decent, pricing I thought was fairly reasonable, and service was solid. A couple of things to possibly improve upon… first, good draught beer would be a nice addition. Second, accept credit cards. For a place that has been open for a year, not accepting anything but cash is a bit archaic. Third, while the interior was cozy feeling, the exterior does not say«come in.» Perhaps change the entrance door/area to open up the place to outside viewing, and go with a more neutral exterior color with colorful trim. But, I am nitpicking a good experience!

Located in Fort Recovery, OH. Several beers to choose from and I’d say there is over 40. The food is really good because they purchase high quality food. The meat is never frozen. Lots of homemade foods made from scratch so Im told. The service is great and always friendly. The atmosphere is very nice as well. Live music is played here once in a while too.

Food is okay. But the management is completely sh*t if I do say so myself. Took me about 30 minutes to get my food. The only people in the restaurant were family members of the owner because no one wants to go to a place to eat in this poor location. On top of this the building is the ugliest shade of blue I’ve ever seen. All in all it barely earned the two stars I so kindheartedly gave it.
