I’m really torn about this place. On one hand, I like having a local coffee shop to go to, and I particularly like the owners’ Christian influence on their business. On the other hand, the place is really kind of gross. I understand that it’s got the whole grungy-hipster-with-worn-furniture vibe going on, but I think the cleanliness of the place is severely lacking. The space has a great concept, but I never want to actually sit down in any of the chairs or couches because they look disgusting and often have old napkins(or something similar) tucked into the cushions. The floors don’t look as if they are sufficiently cleaned either. I’m kind of shocked they don’t get health code violations, honestly. I can’t speak for the cleanliness level behind the counter, but I hope it’s not like the rest of the place.

A super friendly gentleman running the place made a great impression, shortly after walking into to an overwhelmingly creative environment that made an even better first impression. The owner informed me that the establishment had previously been a hardware store, despite the fact that it looks like it was a one point a ball room. The bottom line about this joint, they have good coffee(the«signature spot on» was fittingly spot on), good food, cool art, great customer service, good vibes, and comfy old couches and chairs.

Coffee, food, service… You name it, everything is great in this restaurant. I’ve tried the caramel coffee(similar than caramel macchiato from Starbucks) and it’s amazing. I’ve ate breakfast too and everything is delicious!

Great little local coffee shop with a comfortable vibe. Owners are awesome. The service is always great, the coffee perfect, and the food amazing. I’d definitely recommend the turkey bacon sandwich. They also have ice cream so I take our little girl up there on dates to give Mom a break. There’s plenty of room for her to run around.

Utterly wonderful, sweet, delicious coffee and café in Ft. Payne! Came here multiple times on our trip to Mentone and have stopped by once or twice since. It’s sweet and funky and has been around for a while in a cool cavernous old corner building full of art {that never sells}. The drinks are good if a little slow(there’s usually only one person behind the counter). They have yummy frappé style drinks and shakes, desserts, they sell whole bean coffee occasionally and have really good sandwiches. The chicken pesto panini is very awesome! I will always love the Spot and hope to return again and again :)

Took a little day trip today and ventured to Little River Canyon. After a nice day sightseeing and hiking as I was heading home I saw this place. Very cool establishment. Nice selection of food and drinks. Wonderful chill area for me to enjoy my yummy Ruben Panini and Latte. The artwork is fun and eclectic. I enjoyed both my food and the environment. The people working were very nice and welcoming. Next time I’m in that neck of the woods this will be «the spot» for sure! Thanks!

Cute, funky coffee shop. I grabbed a caramel latte and black bean burger when passing through. They were both great. The service was friendly and informative. pointing out the most popular menu items. I could actually see myself hanging out here. They have several sitting areas making it easy to meet with a small group.

We swung into The Spot for a quick lunch on our way to Little River Canyon and were pleasantly surprised by this hip oasis in the heart of Ft Payne. The décor is urban chic and the walls are filled with local artist’s handiwork… it almost had a gallery feel to it. We ordered a panini to split and two espresso’s… both the food and coffee was superb. The panini was freshly assembled, composed of quality ingredients and was served with a generous portion of chips and an enormous wedge pickle. The espressos were pulled perfectly: not too bitter, not scalding hot and, with the addition of a little honey, the perfect pick-me-up. What really made this place were the people behind the counter(the owners, I think): friendly, engaging and welcoming. It was lunch time but they took the time to ask about our day and what brought us to town. They shared a bit of the building’s history and were just overwhelmingly kind. I’m rarely in Ft Payne but this will be my go-to stop for a snack, lunch or a coffee next time I am in town.
