Rita’s Italian Ice

Small little place but their Cherry gelato is to die for. A nice cherry slush with two layers of vanilla ice cream is heaven in a cup. Must try!

I love frozen custard and this place has it. Tons of toppings to choose from, but the custard flavors themselves are extremely limited (vanilla & chocolate was it the day I was there). They also have ices which I didn’t try. The quality of the custard is pretty good. Prices are extremely reasonable. Great place to stop on a warm summer afternoon.

Went here only once when they first opened and ordered a watermelon flavored ice drink. The first gulp through my straw, a pit went flying into the back of my throat, making me spit out a mouthful of drink all over the dash of my car. Not a good first impression. I haven’t gone back since. I will give them 3 stars because from what I tasted in that single mouthful tasted good. They should warn you that there could be pits in your drink though.

Rita’s is great! The chocolate and vanilla custard is always delicious and my wife really enjoys the orange ice. The menu items are always very consistent and we’ve never had a bad or dissapointing item. Also, the drive thru is very convenient and the staff is always pleasant.

I’m not an icy drink person, but I enjoyed the different flavors I’ve tried. I like the fact that the ice is very very refine.

I know the first time I had one of the Gelatis. That was the first thing to come out of my mouth. There awesome certainly not healthy but REALLY creamy and tasty. Sooooooo. … yeah I think WOW!!! about sums it up.

Pretty tasty stuff. Got the vanilla custard in a cup with strawberries fudge and whipped cream. Pretty darn tasty. 1 cone and one cup for 9 and change. Custard was a little heavy we will definitely be back for the ice.

The best — skip the the ice and get the Gelati!

Two years ago my husband brought home a quart of Rita’s twisted (choc & van) custard for a treat for me and it was hollow down the middle and I was a little disappointed but let it go cuz soft serve custard is hard for this Buffalo girl to find in this area. Well we stopped by the other day after lunch and wanted to purchase a quart to go and were told that their machine couldn’t handle it and they no longer serve quarts. The funny thing is, we were offered two large cups (which we were assured were the same volume as a quart)…really? We can get back to back large cups but not a quart because the machine can’t handle it… get a new excuse that is at least intelligent sounding to those of use with a brain. If I want to spend $ 9 for 2 large cups, I will go to LoveBoat and get homemade ice cream in any size I want.

I love Rita’s! The black cherry Italian ice is soo good! The vanilla custard is smooth n creamy. The slushes are good too. I even like the cute little drive-​thru

Great little spot for frozen custard, gelati, italian ice!
Chocolate custard in a waffle cone and a strawberry gelati with vanilla custard (they layer a small amount of custard, then gelati, then top it off with more custard). Delicious!
Wish we had one in Phoenix!
