Gulf Coast Humane Society

A while back I had to turn over a wonderful pet, for the sake of my other fur-​babies because, while she was a sweet and loving people-​cat, she was aggressive to the other cats in the home. After two years of trying, the tension and discourse was just too much for my others that had been with me for many, many years.
Due to this being the first time in my life that I ever turned an animal over to a shelter and, by doing this, broke a commitment of providing a fur-​ever home to an animal that I made a promise to, my heart was breaking. But the staff at Gulf Coast Humane Society helped me through the process and provided me with much needed reassurance that she would be loved and cared for until they found her a safe and wonderful new home.
I am so appreciative of their caring ways and for the fact that they truly put the animals’ welfare first. And they do all that they do with such amazingly generous hearts.
Please adopt… enrich your life and the life of a well deserving animal that will provide you with unconditional love in a way that we, as humans, can’t even comprehend. Xo

Absolute Angels working at GCHS. They work tirelessly to save animals from high kill shelters and promote the animals for adoption at their shelter. I adopted a wonderful little guy about 6 mos. ago and he is twice as adorable today as the day I brought him home. They need foster homes and volunteers to stop by and walk the dogs, such a worthy cause.

We adopted our newest family member, a rescued Pit Bull, from GCHS several months ago and can not imagine our lives w/​out him! The staff was incredible to work with– very informative & supportive of our (limited) concerns. The building is not the newest, but it apparent at every turn just how much these animals are loved & cared for. The staff is very concerned & very honest in the temperaments & limitations of each animal. I know that we will continue to return to GCHS whenever we are able to «expand» our family!

I adopted Coda from GCHS in April. He was there for quite awhile as he is a senior. He loves everyone there — they treated him so well. Whenever we go back for a visit he gets so excited to see all his friends in the purple t-​shirts! What a great group of caring, warm hearted people doing a difficult job with tremendous grace and good spirits. I highly recommend them!
