Fort Myers Aquatic Center

This review is for swimming lessons only. First, you have to wake up and get there several hours before the actual registration time to secure your child a precious spot in these sub-​par lessons. Idea for the City of Fort Myers… add more lessons?!
The classes in my opinion are run like military style with an instructor yelling commands at your kids with no room for children who have any fear of the water.
My child finally got into the water and was clinging on to a young (high school age) instructor. She was crying. She was scared to put her head under water. The main male instructor yelled at the girl instructor «DUNK HER». And then my crying child was dunked under water. What did this accomplsh? We did not get near a pool for the rest of that summer. I wish there was more I could do to spread the word so people do not sign their children up at this place.
I am sickened and disgusted that this ever happened. I would urge you to stay far, far away from this place until it’s run by someone who maybe understands children and their fears.
