Mac and Cheese was so gritty. The one in the cape was much better. Not sure if I want to try again.

We have come in a few times to get attached to the free range turkey burger and this visit it was deleted :(I was so sad! I got the chicken patty they replaced it with. It was smaller and wasn’t the same. Good but different. I always create my own burger. I love the huge choices they have in toppings. My husband always goes for the mushroom swiss or black N Bleu burger. They have a boom boom shrimp app that is amazing and the fried pickles too! You should try this place even once. There is something for everyone. Not just burgers. I gave it 4 stars for deleting my turkey patty.

I would probably like Ford’s better if they would commit to the quality of their food. It is made to seem like a trendy gastropub, with funky burgers and twists on classic bar food. But the execution is often lacking. Burgers are supposed to use quality ingredients, but after many attempts I have yet to get one that was not a desiccated hockey puck. The fries are just OK, and there is not enough added flavor to justify the cost of the truffle parmesan variety. The wings are alright, as are some of their sandwiches. Generally the food is not bad, mind you. It is just not particularly good, particularly for the price you pay. Service staff have all been quite good any time I have gone. On the upside, they have lots of great beers on tap, and a really cool chilled rail on the bar to place your pint glass. The décor is very elaborate, with a very old Ford hanging upside down from the ceiling, and lots of early 20th century tchotchkes on the walls. Therein lies the philosophical problem with the restaurant group who owns Ford’s. Image has always taken priority over quality and substance with their themed restaurants, and mediocre meals are the result.

No, not a fancy place, but comfortable, quirky, and the food is wonderful. My husband usually gets the lobster or Cajun chicken Mac ‘n Cheese, and I go for a burger and beer. The beer selection is decent, and the onion rings are yummy, too. Simple, good food. Oh, yes!

The food is good. Zero complaints. But it’s not anything magical. Definitely go for the décor. The kitchen and servers hold their own during busy times and River District events so no worries on that front.

We ate here for the first time on a sunny but cool Monday Jan. 25. We ate at a curbside table so it was a bit noisy from street traffic, but we had opted for sunshine. Our food and the service was good considering that it was a busy time just before dinner. We went inside to the restroom and discovered how unique the décor was, especially the sinks and door handle in the restroom! The inside of the restaurant was nicely done too, and even our«shop cloth» napkin with a «hose clamp» ring was great.

Jamie was great, salads good, shared one for appetizer. Lots of choices. Very busy at 5pm. River Fest starts tonight. Bison burger one of the best and I have eaten many. Ford Fries not so great. Wife says Black Angus burger with lettuce, no bun was very good. Both cooked medium as ordered. Great atmosphere and very good service by Jamie. Good way to start an evening especially with happy hour discounts.

A regular american restaurant with american food, lots of hamburgers to choose, a bit pricey but the atmoshpere is lively and nice. Sitting outside was good and comfortable, though inside the place looked also nice and well illuminated. The fish and chips were better than I expected, the fish was fresh and it’s battered in tempura flour, which gives a very nice texture and taste compared to regular breading. The chips were quite oily and a bit too«fast food“cut and feeling for my taste, same as the sweet potato fries(made from the frozen, mashed and sweetened staff and not from real sweet potatoes). The trio combo we ordered was good, though the hot dog was not so surprising and the regular hamburger(angus beef) was a bit dry. The chicken one was tasty and full of spices. The key lime pie was not so good, it was like a brick, with a disgusting greenish artificial lime jam spread around, very sweet and with some bitterness aftertaste that I didn’t like. Just okay.

The waitress was super-nice. I enjoyed my coconut flavored porter. The Onion rings were huge! Overall, food is fine. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant’s theme is geared toward car buffs if you didn’t pick up on that yet!(table setting had a automotive clamp around it.) Perhaps you can visit the Edison and Ford estates on the same trip as we did!

Surprisingly good & unique menu. The menu has a wide variety of creative food options. I usually don’t order Mac n Cheese but I did on the suggestion from our server. It turned out to be a very good call! Super tasty!

Stopped in for a late lunch with my family… place was packed at 2pm… we were seated within 15 minutes… fried pickles for an app… light, crunchy batter and plenty hot… just not enough to share with 4 people… ordered the«Kobe Beef» Distinguished Gentleman burger… it was awesome… full of flavor and cooked perfectly… I also had the truffle fries which were delicious… very relaxed atmosphere… great place for a sandwich or burger… but expect it to be loud if it’s busy… had to almost yell to carry on a convo… luckily I had great food to stuff my face instead of talk…

A Big Improvement over my last visit. See it here: This time the staff was very attentive. My food was way better than my last trip and the menus had been expanded and improved. Kudos to the staff and management on your turn around. Cheers !!!

We went for lunch and had the Kobe burger as well as the buffalo burger. Boat tasted really great. Mine should have been medium rare, was more like a medium in the end but that wasn’t bad at all. Tasted still great. The service was really friendly and fast. We sat outside but I took a look on the inside and this place has it for the details. There is an old car hanging over the bar which honks occasionally and blows steam. In the bathroom the sinks are old car tires and the water comes out of a fuel nozzle. I loved it!

Yum! Solid place with good service, fun décor and delicious food! Had the basic burger and it was yummy! Definitely worth checking out. Also, took our two year old and four month old and it was good for both. Super easy!

Great place. We loved the décor, so clever and cool since everything is car garage themed, including the bathrooms. We all enjoyed our burgers(I had the Ford Signature which I really enjoyed). Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The buns are a bit small for the size of the burger meat so be prepared for things to get messy(ask for napkins ahead of time to avoid this issue we faced lol). Also be awar they will charge you for any changes to your order(i.e. my fiancée asked his raw onions to be sautéed and we saw his entrée upcharged by $ 1). Overall we enjoyed it all and would recommend. :)

I dig places like Ford’s Garage. I think it’s a smart idea and the location here in downtown is great. The layout and décor is done well and it all just… works. I also like the variety of beers they have and that it’s not just burgers and its not just beer BUT most likely that’s what you’ll be getting here. This location I only had lunch once with my work people for the holiday’s. I ordered the southwestern burger and underestimated the amount of spice it would have. It has a whole, with seeds, jalapeño inside of it. I paid for that later, if you know what I mean. Fire in. Fire out. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Many of the women ordered salad that I laughed at until they came over with it and it was a salad that don’t play around. Lots of veggies and some had lots of chicken. They also have a bun-less burger which isn’t a bad idea too. I’d come back.

This is a nice place. The waiter took his time on a few things. I had fish & Chips, the fish could of used some seasoning, it was a dry taste, the batter was good though. I also had a side of coleslaw, I wasn’t impressed with it. It needed more slaw mix, it was dry & they put pepper on top so that part I didn’t like. The waiter had the coleslaw removed from my tab. Another waitress approached me when she saw my cup was empty, she replaced it was very happy to do it. Over all, this was my first time going to Ford’s Garage & I will give them a 2nd chance…

Struggled writing this review. My sister’s family took us all out to dinner before Thanksgiving. Things started out very well for us with this visit(my first visit here). We had a party of 9, that when we called ahead, they«bent the rules» allowing us to put our names on the list even though we were farther out than 15 minutes(we were 20 minutes out and they had a 45 minute wait). I thanked the hostess for accommodating us. Before the call was over, I had a text message on my phone confirming our spot on the list. I thought that was all pretty cool. When we got there, the wait was again 45 minutes, but they confirmed us being there and told us they would text me again when the table was ready. We walked away and explored the surrounding area. As we circled back, my brother-in-law went in to check on our table status. I am not really sure what transpired in there, but that’s when the hospitality between the hostess staff and our party really ended. My brother-in-law tried to get them to set up other table combinations to get us sat, versus waiting for the sing 9 top they had in the back corner where the patrons were camped out watching TV. The host staff put together some tables and walked by my brother-in-law and said, your table is set up over there, and walked away. He wasn’t sure if they were talking to him, so we remained standing. When they came by and said it again, this time with a bit of attitude and obviously no intention of walking us to the table, it really created problems. My sister called the manager over and he came and spoke to both her and my brother-in-law. He seemed pretty uncomfortable with the conversation and offered us free appetizers(free food was not something any of them were trying to get, they just wanted to express the rude behavior). He also stated that he was going to pull her(a specific hostess) into the office and find out what happened. The manager returned, apologized and insisted on comping appetizers we had ordered. He said that he has had this talk with them before, about how they deal with people at the door. Honestly, I was pretty uncomfortable with the entire event as no one wanted anything for free, but this seemed to be the only play in this guy’s book. After that, the service and food were on par with all the reviews here. On the way out, I walked by the host stand and thanked them(sincerely) as I exited. The hostesses were pleasant and returned a comment in kind. I chalk this up to a bad night there. I would definitely come back as the food was really great and every point of service, except the host experience, was spot on.

I went here with my family when we were on vacation. I had a mix of sliders while my family had chillies fries and different kind of burgers. Everything was tasty and fresh. The chili cheese fries were a big plate and tasted really good. Another special thing about fords garage is the variety of fries you can get. Normal fries, white truffle fries and sweet potato fries tasted really good. Only the cinnamon dip wasn’t my kind of thing. The service was awesome — the waitress was kind and caring. I only subtracted one star because the classic hamburger slider was boring and lacking sauce.
