Charlotte, NC has over 10 bakeries one can buy cupcakes from when the craving hits. While I’m sure each and every one has delicious offerings, I chose to drive over 40 minutes into Fort Mill when I have a sweet itch that needs scratching. Who wouldn’t enjoy a cutely designed shoppe, happy workers and patrons, creative cupcakes, cookies and cake pops every single visit? I try to get there as early as I can to have the best selection of cupcakes. I’ve never had one I didn’t love and wish I had bought more of.

We’re talking about cupcakes people! Some of the most delightful little treats you could ever imagine! So many flavors you can’t boast about any one in particular. Although, I am certain you have NEVER had a Red Velvet THISGOOD! They are very pleasant and happy people working here and very attentive. They actually took a break over the holidays and I was a little heartbroken. I drove down and they were closed. I so planned on dazzling my house guest with some of their goodness. You will never be dissappointed. *Don’t forget $ 2 Tuesday’s

We came to Cupcrazed one afternoon craving a sweet treat and were promptly greeted by friendly staff who walked us through all the choices. We ended up with an assorted dozen and every single one of them far exceeded my expectations. The 21+ selections were a great choice and the mainstream cakes(red velvet, chocolate, etc) were exceptional. Everything had a wonderful flavor, nothing was dry, and they all tasted fresh. I will be returning soon

The first time we went here we tried the gingerbread cookies that were so good. The staff was very nice. They had delicious food. We stopped here on a trip. The shop is small with a few tables and chairs and very cute items.

After lunch, we couldn’t help ourselves, and had to go to Cupcrazed Cakery in Baxter Village. They were on one of my favorite shows from the Foodnetwork, Cupcake Wars, and they won. The shop was so cute. If I were to ever open a bakery; I’d definitely do something like this. We chose the coconut macaroon cupcake, gluten free crème brûlée and vanilla. We also tried a chocolate cake pop and a peanut butter cookie cup filled with chocolate fudge ganache. It was a sugary afternoon but definitely worth it. Later that night, weI tried the coconut macaroon cupcake and holy moly! The frosting, the cake, the coconut, the filling, all of it was amazing! It didn’t last long. We’ve also had their triple salted caramel cupcake which was good but a BIT too salty. The key lime pie was perfect and their frosting has the best consistency and sweetness. If you are gluten free, they have some pretty darn good GF cupcakes! The atmosphere is adorable. They have fun and colorful furniture and it’s great for friends!

Pleasantly surprised!!! I’m not a cupcake fan but wanted to be able to say I tried a cupcake from the winners of Cupcake Wars. I enjoyed a gluten-free cupcake that had great texture and favor. The frosting surprised me! It wasn’t just flavored sugar! I’m glad I stopped and will be back!

Had just finished dinner and wanted some dessert, Unilocal said they were closed but we walked up there anyways just because we had heard so much about this place. Surprise surprise they were open! We were greeted by Jocelyn, who was absolutely delightful. Energy and smiles overflowing the entire time we were in there with a few killer dance moves. Have great recommendations for things to try also. Definitely worth stopping by! I went in planning on buying one and left with 8!

We came to Cupcrazed for the first time after lunch today! I have been wanting to come here ever since I found out they won Cupcake Wars(kudos!). FINALLY! We walked in and were pleasantly greeted by a couple of staff members. We were also happy to find that it was $ 2 cupcake Tuesdays! Normally,(chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet are $ 2.75 and the other crazy flavors are $ 3). SCORE. We ended up purchasing a red velvet cupcake and a chocolate chip cookie for under $ 4. What a deal. My boyfriend is not a fan of sweets so we were happy to find that the frosting was not too sweet, it was just perfect. It also did not have an artificial texture like the store bought red velvet or the weirdly strong cream cheese after taste like some other cupcakery frostings(Crave’s is a bit much). It could have used a better garnish, but still a very good cupcake. The cookie was very chewy, just like I like em. We will be back for sure, yay for $ 2 Tuesdays!

Get there early! The fella and I were having post-dinner drinks down the street, and I decided to walk to Cupcrazed for a sweet treat around 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday. They had been cleaned out of everything except variations of chocolate/white cake and chocolate/vanilla icing. At least I wasn’t overwhelmed by too many options! Inside was super cute and whimsically decorated with a few tables in case you wanted to eat there. I settled on a chocolate cake with vanilla icing and a cake pop and walked back to the fella to eat them. It had been a loooong time since I’d had a really good cupcake, so perhaps my memory failed me, but this was deeeelicious. The cupcake was SO moist(even though I hate that word), and the vanilla icing was sugary but not artificial. The cake pop was even denser and richer with a hard, chocolate shell. Heaven. If they can do the basics that well, I’d love to taste their more creative, specialty cupcakes!

I go here most Tuesdays for $ 2 cupcakes, and it truly never gets old. Each time I’ve been, there’s at least two new flavors I’ve never seen, and I can always trust that which ever I choose will be promisingly delicious. It’s a really adorable shop and there’s a good amount of seating considering the space. They keep it interesting and colorful with all their cupcake flavors, cake pops, and decorative cookies. Also, if you want to take some of the cupcake home, you can depend on it being good for at least a couple days(I like to make them last; the last bite is very bitter sweet ;)). I haven’t been to many cupcake shops, but Cupcrazed definitely beats SAS Cupcakes by a landslide. I highly recommend this bakery to any and all humans. I am cupcrazy

Always something new and the cupcakes are the best around. Highly recommend the Elvis and the Reese’s Cup. Their peanut butter frosting is delicious! My daughter loves the cake pops & cookies with frosting. Customer service there is always excellent.

Cute store, lots of choices that rotate but all look great in the case, the cupcakes are sold per piece or by the ½ dozen or dozen. There are lots of signs throughout the store; about boxes costing extra and about choices changing. A bit off putting, probably meant to be seen as «sassy». The cashier didn’t know what Hummingbird cakes were even though they were lying in the case the day I stopped in. Guess I’m not ordering one of those. I went for the basics. I ordered 6 to go, came to $ 16. Definitely a treat and not an all the time indulgence. I personally had the carrot cake, the chocolate cake w/chocolate frosting and the vanilla cake with white frosting. All good but sweet for my taste. I was told the red velvet was good, the peanut butter chocolate was nothing special. All of the cupcakes were rich and large. I wouldn’t travel from Huntersville to get these again.

Such a cute shop. And the cupcakes taste amazing. They are the absolute best I have ever had. Totally worth the drive no matter where you are driving from. If you haven’t been here… get here soon. They are amazing. Don’t even bother going to other cupcake shops… run straight here.

Cupcrazed bakes lots of unique flavors of cupcakes, and you can’t complain about that. Presentation is on point. The cakery itself is such a cute place! My favorites are the fluffernutter and butterfinger. However, several times I’ve gotten cupcakes that are terribly, choke-inducingly dry. They’re either phenomenal or hardly able to be swallowed. Perhaps the biggest complaint I have is one of the employees, a woman with short blonde hair(Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to catch her name). The best words to describe her are abrasive, unhelpful, and condescending. Her way of talking to and interacting with customers is a big turn off. Overall, a decent place to get a cupcake. Service is hit or miss depending on who you get… can either be friendly and upbeat(the young adults have been great!) or of very poor quality.

Cupcrazed Cakery is just ok. One weekend the family and I decided to take a trip out to Cupcrazed, especially since they won Cupcake Wars a few years back. They are located in Baxter Village, which in itself the Village has a nice hometown, but shopping feel to it at the same time. It is almost set up as if you were on vacation somewhere and just checking out the local stores in close proximity. Nice touch! Ok, now onto the cupcakes, we got a total of 5 different ones(Red Velvet, Blue Raspberry, Birthday Cake, Double Chocolate and White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino). They were out of all the other flavors they had listed, maybe because we got there at around 5pm on a Saturday. The best one was the White Chocolate Frappuccino, it had a bold and distinct coffee flavor but not overpowering. It was awesome… I probably could have eaten a couple more of those. The others were good but not outstanding, they tasted like average cupcakes. The cupcakes didn’t seem stale but didn’t seem like they were baked that day either. I don’t know if it had anything to do with them being in the refrigerator or not but they weren’t as moist and fluffy as I had expected them to be. The décor/setup inside is a little crammed. We were practically sitting on top of the garbage can. Ok that’s stretching it some but we were very close to it and the cooler to grab a beverage if you wanted it. Every time someone came to get a drink we had to move so that they can open the door. They were having a special that Saturday so all cupcakes were $ 2. Hey, it’s always a nice surprise to pay less then what you were expecting. It was a nice treat for the evening and maybe I will go again and try some other flavors but I am not going to purposely go out of my way to make a trip there.

Cupcrazed has set the bar for my expectations of a cupcake. I’m not joking when I say that I think this was the best cupcake I’ve ever had. Start sending me your challengers and I would love to do some taste testing ;) A friend of mine had posted a pic on instagram and I clicked on over to Cupcrazed’s Instagram and considered getting in the car immediately. Somehow I managed to wait a couple of weeks before finally making it to them. I’m a sucker for Salted Caramel so that stole my heart. My Mom’s favorite candy bar is Snickers so she had to opt for that one. We both loved everything about the frosting, cake and overall flavor. Luckily, we’re not in Baxter Village often so this will stay an every once in a while treat. Highly recommend giving it a try. * Doesn’t hurt that they were featured on the Food Network for Cupcake Wars!

I have been a fan and ardent supporter of Cupcrazed for quite sometime now because of their delicious cupcakes and what Cupcrazed represents(small business), however the last 4 visits have left me wanting. The cupcakes have been questionable with their doughy texture that doesn’t seem to have cook properly all the way through and that rich flavor I’ve become accustomed to is no longer present. Maybe I’ve been there so often that I’ve gotten rather used to the cupcakes, maybe the quality has dropped but I can’t say with certainty that Cupcrazed reigns supreme anymore. I am on the search for a new cupcake shop or bakery in the Charlotte area, if you have any suggestions please let me know
