This place exists for one reason and that is obviously to stuff money down their greedy faces. I brought my cat for treatment of his skin condition here $ 500 later and multiple examines, biopsies and blood work later they sent me home with some antibiotics and sulfur in a bottle. Really? I should have just bought sulfur for $ 15.00 on Amazon and saved myself and my cat the agony with dealing with these money gobblers.;$ 500 for no conclusive diagnosis or result.
This place is the McDonald’s of animal care they may have a nice building just like some McDonald’s do but the service you and your animal receive In there isn’t worth more than a what’s on the menu at Mc. D’s

I moved here from Atlanta and my cats went to the VCA hospital there. I was so happy to find out that there was one in Ft Lauderdale. Dr Wiseman is wonderful… Will be back!!!

I would never take my dog there again. I have been there a few times and never had a good experience. I’ve seen Dr. Arlianne Velez and she don’t really seem to know what she’s doing. She is never sure for diagnose and the sad part is that she wouldn’t look for someone else’s opinion either. And get ready she is not kidding with her numbers.

A terrible place with terrible dr buzzetti trying to use fear tactics to up sell all sorts of unnecessary tests and procedures.

Up until recently, I had no issues with this vet. The staff is friendly and the vets seem knowledgeable. However, their bedside manner left much to be desired when my husband questioned them as to why the final bill for a hospitalization was several hundred dollars more than what was originally quoted. In addition to that, we were given several medications that were next to near impossible for the average let owner to keep up with and we were given no explanation as to how to administer the medication. We are first time owners of two rescues so administering medications was new… and quite difficult for us. All the medication was of different/​various consistencies (i.e., gel/​paste, liquid, tablets, etc) and one of them was to be given «in a slurry»…we weren’t told what that was. That’s not easily found on google by the way. Trying to administer this was a nightmare. My biggest point of contention with this hospital is that the estimate was given to me and signed off on. The bill was several hundred dollars more and no one asked if giving the dog additional treatments and/​or medication would okay (for our wallet). Don’t get me wrong, I love our dog and will try to do everything we can to keep him happy healthy and loved, but it makes not sense to have to put yourself into bankruptcy for a condition that hasn’t even been diagnosed. We were in a very vulnerable state as he dog had quite a bit of bloody diarrhea and of course we’re going to do what is necessary to keep him alive. But if there is an estimate agreed upon, it should not then be a few hundred dollars more in the end without some type of discussion and permission as to why. To make matters worse, when questioned about this, we were treated disrespectfully by the vet walking out of the room and no one coming back for over an hour. My husband waited in the room so long that he could hear staff through the wall saying «I think that guy is still in there.» Ultimately, the matter for which we paid an arm and a leg was never resolved by this vet and instead we sought a second opinion from Banfield in Hollywood who were so nice, so helpful and more budget friendly. And the new vet made adjustments to the meds that made it so much more easier to administer… like cutting he dosages because it was too high for a 10lb chihuahua mix and demonstrating to us how to make a slurry. We will never be going back to VCA Imperial Point!

Great place: I have trusted them with my pets for many years. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. I know I can trust them with my most priceless possessions… my dog and cat!

We’ve been coming here for yrs, always happy with the care and service our pup receives. Yesterday we were here to get him «chipped» and had an 8:45 appt. At 9:10 the waiting room was filling up so you guys need to turn it up a notch.
Once they took him to the back we were in/​out within minutes. $ 40, not so bad but there’s a renewal process, I presume for the revenue stream.

Can not sing Dr. Wiseman’s praises loud enough! She is exactly what every pet owner dreams of – full of knowledge and patience! Entire staff was lovely — our nurse, Taylor was a huge help too. Will be sending all of my friends to this VCA location, really wonderful experience.

I’m not a vet person. Thinking back to the 50s and 60s people really didn’t take their pets to the vet and they lived a generally happy and healthy life. The last time I took Cannoli to the vet was in 2011 to be neutered and of course he had to have updated shots to do that. Dr. Clarke was at VCA Promenade at that time and was patient and very compassionate since I had recently lost my job and had limited funds.
I really needed Cannoli’s nails trimmed and most groomers require updated records so I tracked down Dr. Clarke at this location. The staff was friendly when I called to schedule an appointment. I spoke with Nicole who was able to get us in the next day. Dr. Clarke was friendly as usual giving me a big hug because it had been several years. Of course he didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know– Cannoli is a little overweight and try to get his weight down. He also had a little irritation on his skin under his eye because those folds can be difficult to keep clean. He prescribed some medicated wipes ($ 24 for 60 wipes suggested to cut in half for 120 wipes).
The vet assistant, Sylvain was super friendly. He cut Cannoli’s nails for me since I have a hard time doing it. He was responsible for providing us with estimate and recommendations for what to have done. I immediately told him I was anti — vet so the «care program» that lets you take your pet there 5x per year was not an option for me. I also declined full panel blood work ($ 169) and a few other things that I didn’t feel Cannoli needed. He’s a healthy indoor dog who doesn’t socialize at dog parks and such. People who complain about vet bills should realize that they have the right to decline anything and your pet will not be mad at you!
I still managed to spend $ 232 bucks but I think my pooch will be good for another 3+ years. However, Dr. Clarke is definitely a true professional that I trust to handle Cannoli.

A few weeks ago I had brought one of my dogs in to be looked at concerning an issue with her eye because her regular vet was unavailable. They looked at it, like literally looked at it, gave me some drops and I was on my way. Being that I am not a vet, I assumed all would be well. The drops didn’t help so I took my dog to her usual vet. She had an ulcer on her eye that was over looked as well as the other had stopped producing tears. Imperial point charged about $ 100.00 more than our regular vet (who’s fees including treating her plus examination) and the what appears to me just rushed us in and out to take our money. Our regular vet didn’t understand how this was over looked by them. The $ isn’t even the issue. My dog suffered from an irritated eye for longer that she needed to by giving her the wrong medication, that’s what has me bothered and no tests were done by imperial point. It’s very disappointing to see such a lack of care given. I’d advise to stay away or seek 2^nd opinions if you do go…

The staff there were super comforting and accommodating during a hard time. Thank you so much for your caring and supportive staff.

This place is awful. We brought our puppy in when she was sick and vomiting. Over the course of 3 months we were charged over 5000 dollars for an erroneous treatment. They told us she had irritable bowel syndrome and required treatment. During this time we were constantly being told to board the dog. They gave her, what we thought, were necessary drugs. We later found out that they were unnecessary. They also supposedly provided many expensive treatments that were done without our advance notification.
Our dog went from 9 to 6 pounds. She required surgery. They failed to do a biopsy during this surgery even though that was the reason for this surgery. This required more charges.
After 3 months of their failure to make her better, we took her to a different vet. For 125 dollars they diagnosed her properly with Helico bacter pylori and gave her 3 medications and it is now over and she is perfectly healthy.
While most of the staff is friendly and possess great customer service skills, they are really just not a good vet service.
I laughed at that Jonas B dude that gave them 5 stars and is screwing up the Imperial Point review by stating it was a great boarding place. Who cares about that. They are not a boarder… they are primarily a vet.
I heard that this place was bought out by a corporation and they used to be good, but now the direction is to move forward with high costs, bad charges, and poor vet service. Between our wrong diagnosis and all of the constant charges and the unnecessary drugs, it appears that what I heard is true.
So lastly, we called them after the other vet helped her. They refused to even discuss some level of financial compensation with regard to a refund.
Finally, we went about a half mile east on commercial to bayview animal hospital. They were great and healed her. Check them out.

This place is the worst boarding house I have ever used. I had my dog walker drop my two bulldogs off at the place and pick them up so they would be home the day I came back from NY. When I got home, my dogs were filthy and smelly and I gave them a bath 5 days before dropping them off there. Then I looked at the bill and they had the nerve to charge me for bathing them. I wish there was a way to post pictures of them so you can see. I called to ask about the bath charge and they said it was standard procedure. I explained to them that #1, my dogs were filthy when they came home and #2 that I was never notified of the bath before hand. The woman told me that she witnessed my dogs being bathed and now we know about it for the next time we board our dogs there. LIKE THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN AGAIN. On top of this, my male has a breathing problem now that he never had before in his life until he spent some time at this dirt house.
If you love your pet like I do. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable boarding house or a pet sitter. You will be glad that you didn’t leave your pet with a place that is only concerned with taking your money.

my gf and i bought a puppy from a pet store (i know, please don’t judge) and 3 days later he became violently ill. we took him to a vet in the keys and he was diagnosed with parvovirus. we called the pet store and they told us we had to go to VCA Imperial Point as that was «their vet» and the pet store would not reimburse the hospital visit if we went elsewhere. we googled dr buzzetti and read positive reviews so we thought it would be a good idea to take our puppy there. 5 days later, and with minimal communication from the doctor, our 10 week old puppy died at the hospital after being under buzzetti’s care (or lack thereof) for 5 days. the worst part about it is that he didnt even have the decency to call us and inform us that our puppy died. i called him to ask when we could pick him up (as he was supposed to come home that afternoon) and his response was «actually, i have some bad news. he didn’t make it.» to make things worse, buzzetti told us that parvovirus stays alive in your apartment, car, clothes, etc for up to 30 days. upon speaking to 3 breeders and 4 other animal clinics (and hours of google research later), all said the virus remains «alive» for a minimum of 6 months, even up to 2 years.

The facility is beautiful, with some of the best equipment to handle many advanced needs. That is where the compliments end.
The vets are pretty robotic and are only concerned with getting as much out of customers as possible. My dog had chronic renal failure, and they recommended many expensive treatments and a cocktail of meds. I was so overwhelmed at first that I didn’t question their treatments like I should have. After extensive research into the disease, I found that some of the meds can actually worsen the disease! I decided to begin a natural/​raw diet approach, and when I asked the vet questions about this, they seemed very disinterested. It’s not as financially lucrative. I finally found a conventional vet in Oakland Park who was supportive of me taking an alternative approach, even though that’s not his specialty.
I fully believe that my dog would have died 4 – 6 months sooner had I stayed with and relied on Imperial Point. If you choose to go there, make sure to do your own research and question their one-​size-​fits-​all approach. Many vets treat the numbers, not the animal, and Imperial Point is no exception.

The previous review by H.K. couldn’t have said it any better. The vet here is out to get your money. He performed unnecessary procedures without informing us of the costs. He even performed an additional test without our permission, which added over $ 50 to our bill. I was surprised to see a $ 425 bill because of a UTI! Keep in mind that this was an appointment during office hours and not an emergency. It costed more than what it would for a human’s treatment of a UTI, by far. I called to express my concern and only got an «OK» as my response. I only see 5 star reviews on Google Maps. Maybe they reviewed their own business? Who knows, I haven’t seen any good reviews on other sites. Luckily there are other sites for review. A real business owner would understand that a bad review can last forever, especially with the internet.
They got our money this time, but they sure don’t have our continued business.

Beautiful facility, but not any place a beloved pet should be taken. All Buzzetti (the owner) cares about is how much money he can get out of pet owners. Patients occasionally get lucky when they deal with one of the employee Vets that is there to help animals and not just to make money — but the good Vets never stay there very long.
