Ugly Tuna Saloona

This place rules! I mean it’s called the UGLY TUNA SALOONA! This was a reference from the people at the local theater who told us if you want some good drinks and some tasty meals go here. And it did not disappoint, and went there almost every day that I was in Ft. Lauderdale, which was 5 days!
They have these awesome glasses that are girls in bikinis! They are really tacky, but they are really great souvenirs that are fun to show friends when you bring them home.
Other than they’re glasses, their food is all good. I went with a group a couple times and everyone wanted everyone to try what they were eating. I was so amazed at what they made here! And not only is the food and drinks good, but the service is there to match, always patient and resourceful they never neglected our needs.
The location is really good too, with a place with a parking garage and near a marina they have tons of space to hang out and walk around. And at night there is a gazebo that has live music. Such a cool vibe. Or you can just chill outside on their large patio.

This is an extremely casual place located upstairs at Riverfront. I wouldn’t spend all night there, but it’s perfectly fine for having a few drinks and an appetizer, or even a fish sandwich. However, there are much better casual places in Himmarshee, just on the other side of the railroad tracks from Riverfront.

This place is casual, laid-​back, and fun. The restaurant is located upstairs in Riverfront and you can watch boats in the river. There is often live music outside as well. There are several bars and you can eat inside or out. I suggest eating outside and people watching. I love downtown Ft. Lauderdale because you can walk around with open containers of alcohol as long as it’s in a plastic cup. No chugging necessary, just take it with you!
I came here and received terrible service one afternoon, though. The place was not crowded at all and our waitress just never helped us. They were also really subborn about substitutions. My friend ordered cheese fries and the waitress said they didn’t serve them. He’s asked if they could just throw a little cheese on top of the regular fries and heat it up and they said no. I mean how can that be so hard. Put cheese, place in microwave. It takes a second. I had the conch chowder. It was spicy but I think the spice was covering for the fact that the soup itself wasn’t very good. Either way, I ordered the tuna tacos and they were delicious. You can have the tuna cooked to any temperature. I ordered mine medium an they were a little raw which was great. They came with delicious chipotle ranch sauce and there were three of them. Large portions! YUM. These tacos made up for the bad experience. The bill for two people with apps and beers came to only $ 45 before tip. Not bad. Hopefully service improves.

I like coming here when we’re Ft. Lauderdale. It a very casual joint that has outdoor seating overlooking the New River. Their tuna tacos are really good and my mother-​in-​law couldn’t stop talking about the steak sandwich. If you sit outside the parrots that sit in the trees are pretty loud but it’s worth it to sit and watch the yachts cruise by while sipping a cold Corona.
