I had lunch here last Thursday while in Ft Lauderdale on business. My coworker and I came in around 2pm so the lunch crowd was gone and there was only one other table seated. We had the gyro sandwich with fries and both were just great. The food was very authentic and I would come back again when in the area.

I enjoyed a nice dinner at Trata with some of best friends while in the area; it was great to find a Greek spot that served all of the typical Greek favorites, but it was also unfortunate that the service was pretty lackluster. All told, the quality of the food outweighed the service, but it is worth mentioning. Also, strangely, the same audio/song loop was playing the entire time(about two hours) we were here, leading to an inside joke among our group about«La la la la la,» because that’s all we heard over the din of our conversation. There’s an extensive and potentially creative cocktail list, but our waiter didn’t seem to know anything about the various cocktails, nor did he care to even make up recommendations for us. There’s also Mythos beer and some Greek wines from which to choose if you end up feeling uninspired by the forgotten cocktails. Be sure to order the Saganaki, because it never gets old watching cheese go up in flames, and then being able to eat the flamed goodness with lemon juice squeezed on top to fan the flames. Plus, OPA! So there’s that. Menu has all of the typical Greek favorites, but also some creative dishes, such as the Chicken Aphrodite, with is the delightful stuffed chicken entrée that I chose. The gyro platter is ginormous and very fairly priced, complete with lots of fresh gyro, feta, fries, cucumbers, etc., but the pita could have been a bit fluffier and warmer. It tasted a bit of-out-the-bag. Dining with a gluten-free friend as well as a vegan friend here wasn’t an issue; our waiter did bear in mind their dietary restrictions and choices, which made for a happy friend with a Greek salad with chicken and another happy friend with lots of hummus, veggies, pita, and beer! I definitely agree with the majority of recent reviews that collectively rave about the food, but bemoan the below-average service. I feel like the Las Olas area demands good service, especially at the prices which one pays for the food and drinks here.

This is my favorite Greek restaurant for quick pick up in the las olas area. The soup, dips, and octopus are excellent!

This is a nice small Greek place at the end of the main strip on las olas. It’s very nice a clean with an outdoor patio. The food is good had the lamb pita and shrimp salad for lunch. The prices are excellent and it’s definitely worth a visit. I don’t think it’s memorable so it’s a good 3.5 star place. Service is very good as well.

One of my favorite restaurants ever. I have been there about 5 – 6 times and tonight was my second time there for my birthday. Each course is more delicious than the next. The hummus is amazing and garlicy. The sagamaki cheese appetizer is mouth watering. I had rhe chicken aphrodite and it was very yummy. My boyfriend had the fish saganaki-unbelievable. I would recommend it all. FYI– our gratituty was included

Great location. We started with the fried cheese and absolutely loved it. For our main course we had the chicken Kabobs which was good. The highlights of this restaurant have to be the fried cheese and the lemon potatoes. Service wasn’t very attentive or friendly, This is one of the few areas I think they can improve.

Walked into this little restaurant today and it ended up being awesome. Will definitely be coming back here. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and added chicken, someone else ordered mussels and a side of falafel. Also ordered bloody Mary’s. Service and food were excellent!

We had a wonderful lunch here today. The avgolemono soup was really delicious, and the grilled fish pita was generously filled and very tasty. Delicious Greek beer in a frosted glass, and excellent espresso. All served in a clean and pleasant atmosphere by a kind and attentive waiter. Prices are very reasonable for the area.

I was here for Sunday lunch and everything was delicious. My wife had had the scallops which were amazing. We had the shrimp saganaki as an appetizer, that was amazing. Overall great food, fairly fast service.

Kind of weird since I really like Greek Spice Grill which is the same owners. I had been to Trata a few years ago and had not returned as it was pretty unmemorable. Recently, my go to fast food Greek joint(Greek Express), has closed so I have been to Greek Spice Grill(a bit far for me) a couple of times and have enjoyed it. Noticing they have the same owners as Trata, I decided to give Trata another try and once again it was unmemorable. I will just continue going to Greek Spice Grill and saving more upscale Greek dinners at other places. All in all its a comfortable restaurant, but the food was meh. I ordered the lamb kebab over rice. The lamb was tough and seemed like it could have been reheated. The rice was a bit crunchy-not good. Chicken kebab was standard as was spanakopita. Service was average. Prices were fair. This place is just is not going to be in my Rolodex.

I had the seafood pasta and it was very good. Large pieces of shrimp, scallop and several large mussels. The linguine was also very good. A mild tomato /olive oil base that was very hearty. It was pretty empty inside. Service was attentive and fairly friendly. Water and coffee refills kept flowing. 35 bucks for lunch was a bit steep though.

First visit to Trata, since I most always go to Greek Islands or Thasos for my Greek food fix. But friends I was meeting suggested it and I am glad that they did. The food and service were both stellar. Interior is decorated very nicely and is very comfortable. Not too loud, so you can carry on a conversation. Like I said, the food was good, shared the chicken stuffed with spinach and falafel. Didn’t have dessert, we decided to go elsewhere. I would visit Trata again. Parking can be tricky since it is on Las Olas, but during off season it should be easier.

Wow really delicious Greek food. On the north side of las Olas there’s a private garage that you must pay the meter, and there’s a back entrance to Tratta. I’ve dined here twice and both times celebrating events with a big family. The service is great, and they let you decorate however you like. The appetizers like hummus and hot pita, or sometimes bread, or both are all good. Greek Salad with a huge chunk of Feta is a great choice. There’s also Cesar which was tasty. The choice of party’s entrée offered filet kabob or chicken kabob, salmon, choice of side rice, lemon potato, or fries. The lemon potato is a huge wedge and yum. The filet kebab was very tender, but the second time I dined here they must’ve switched the meat, it was tough, I set up this event and it upset me. I’ve had the gyro wrap, it’s not fresh gyro(not fresh fries either) but it’s good. The tables had a few servers help and they did a great job.

Absolutely love the food and the service here. My wife and I have been a couple of times and both experiences exceeded our expectations in regard to the food as well as the staff. I would highly recommend that you try this place if you want the best of the best on Las Olas you won’t be disappointed.

Tried this nice little Greek Restaurant next to Tuscan Grill on Las Olas. It’s what I call a nice find. Nestled on the north eastern end of the Las Olas strip area, Trata Greek is a lovely place with above average fare. There were three of us the second time I went in which allowed us to try a few things. We listened to the waiter and tried a shrimp casserole appetizer that was excellent and a sausage appetizer that I have already forgotten. I had the marinated lamb chops for the second time and although slightly salty, they were way above average and full of beautifully marinated flavors. The abundant number of chops was accompanied by rice and a lovely assortment of vegetables. My wife who is not much for ethnic foods had a lovely Greek salad and gyro platter that was up to snuff on both our standards. Based on our two experiences at Trata Greek Taverna, we will be back and probably often since we live very close by and they are open for lunch as well as dinner.

I went for dinner on a Saturday night. They bring you hummus and bread to start. You can request more. The hummus is garlicky and tasty. We shared a greek salad with added gyro meat($ 4 extra) and a flaming cheese $ 9. The greek salad was good the gyro meat was very thinly sliced. I liked the dressing on their greek salad because it wasn’t too vinegary. The flaming cheese comes out and on a cast iron skillet and they flame it in front of your table. The cheese was good, but they didn’t serve it with any pita or bread. there is metered street parking or flat rate parking lots nearby. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a bar. The service and food was good. I will go back. Prices are higher than other greek restaurants, but this is Las Olas. Check groupon for deals.

The restaurant biz is hard — long hours, lots of grunt work, dealing with the public, etc. I’m sure the people who work at Trata Greek Taverna do their best to make the customer experience great… mostly. I don’t believe people are tasting the food before bringing it out to the guests — because if they did, how would they still present it? The interior is decorated and the wait staff are polite and gracious. The menu has many options. It’s all good — until you eat the food, which tasted old and poorly prepared. Grilled Octopus appetizer: We order octopus often and this is the first time we found ourselves unable to eat it.($ 15) The pieces of octopus were small but well grilled. There was a sauce on it that was off-putting. But what made the dish inedible was the mushiness of the octopus. We just couldn’t swallow it and ultimately left the bulk of the food on the plate; the restaurant did not charge us for the dish. Trata Signature Platter entrée: A two-person platter of 4 shrimp, 4 scallops, and 4 lamb chops with yellow rice and peas, skinless potato wedges, and grilled veggies.($ 65) Sounds great — what’s not to like? Let me answer that: Each piece of protein had the same funky sauce as what was on the octopus(check out the pics). I scraped the sauce off of the 1 shrimp I ate, the 2 chops I ate, and the ½ of scallop I got down. The lamb chops had a thin silvery membrane around the meat that rendered a portion of each chop inedible. Beyond that, the thin chops were grilled well and we ate them. The shrimp had a dry spice on it that actually tasted good — this was the highlight of the meal — and while a bit overdone, edible. The scallop splintered as if it was made of straw and just didn’t taste right. The rice was pedestrian — I had 1 forkful and that was ample. The potato was dried out — I had a piece from the end of one wedge and that was more than enough. Each of the overdone veggies had a part that was oil-soaked and a part that looked steamed — I believe they put the zucchini, etc. in a pan and no one moved the veggies around. We’ve never been to a Greek restaurant where so many people ordered pasta — that was a sign. Hubby kept muttering«How are they still in business?» and I didn’t have an answer. I actually begged hubby to go — mentally I was in the car halfway through the meal, wondering what the hell we just ate — I just don’t get it.
