Found this gem in Unilocal while visiting Radio Active records and I’m so glad we went to try this place out, the food was delicious! I tried the special, a queso burrito and my fiancé tried the fajita burrito, best burrito I have ever tried . The only recommendation I have for the food is to warm up the nachos for the salsa. Other than that the restaurant was cute and chill, the workers were also very nice.

If I had the choice between Chipotle, Zona Fresca, Tijuana Flats and Whole Enchilada, I would choose Whole Enchilada. In my opinion, this is hands down the best quick over the counter Tex Mex here in Fort Lauderdale. All ingredients are fresh and I have yet to have any issues with the food here. What makes me give them four instead of five stars is the customer service. It is hit or miss here. Sometimes I will come in and the services is amazing and they are on top of it. Other times not so much. For example, I find myself to be in a hurry slot so I will call my order ahead. I’m told my order will be ready in 10 minutes. I show up on time only to sit and wait 15 minutes. Unfortunately this has happened more than once. Now onto the food… You can’t beat it. My go to is the Whole Enchilada Platter. It comes with two enchiladas, rice, pinto or black beans and chips. All this for under $ 10. Options for meat include chicken, shrimp, ground beef, steak. I usually do chicken or steak. I highly recommend both. The ambiance if you decided to eat there is really casual. One of the best times I had there was when they opened the overhead doors and I just sat with a group of friends hanging out and enjoying the weather(it was a rare non humid, breezy day in South Florida). Overall, definitely come and check this place out if you haven’t already and give your own opinion. I personally will continue to come and enjoy their food.

This was the worst food I have ever had. Note I said food in general, not just Mexican food. It tasted as if they got microwavable enchilada from Walmart and just heated it up for me. You could tell the food was heated up because it tasted rubbery with zero flavor. I couldn’t even make it through a couple bites, ended up giving it to some homeless people. I would never step foot in this place again.

Always good food, service, prices — very consistent! I always stick to the burritos.

You know, to be as fair as you can, in reviewing places, you should have a wide angle view, and I swear I try. But usually, for me anyway, its horrible suck customer service that supercedes everything except food poisoning, maybe. I’ve visited this place and I’ve had pretty good food. The prices are a pretty decent. My child loves the burritos and I love those taco salads. 4 stars for the food. Issues: Spotty customer service. Its sad. Especially when you’re treated seemingly worse than another customer. Recently, I had an awesome cashier, but a stale bag of chips. Then one time I had a crab faced cashier, who in her mood shift from being nicer to the customers before and after me, totally messed up the order. She even handed me my wrong to-go order with a scowl. Gee. I have to say the botched order was rather tasty, the little one commented how the ground beef in his burrito tasted like real meat… funny he knows the difference. Minus a star or two. Food, consistently decent Mexican I’ve eaten here over the years. They make it to order(if they don’t mix up the order), the grill cooks are right there. The prices are competitive for Mexican cuisine. I feel badly for food establishments who depend on employees who don’t venture into excelling at customer service delivery. Cashiers, they need to at least fake having a good day or fake liking taking orders from customers who might look like someone who didn’t invite them to the popular girl party in high school.

Convert an old gas station and throw in some delicious Mexican food and you have The Whole Enchilada. I went with the lunch special, not the Ex-Wife challenge, and it was one of the better monster burritos that I’ve ever tasted. The salsa bar was stocked with several types of fresh salsa, from smokey to Verde it was there. And the had a Coke Freestyle machine, a rarity for non-chain restaurant. Don;t pass this place up!

Two words describe The Whole Enchilada«Mmm Good!» It’s a small quaint Mexican grill; 9 tables inside and 4 outside. Today my wife and I ate lunch here and as you enter the restaurant you’re greeted with a hand written«Today’s Special». The special today was the Black Panther Burrito served with chips and a drink for under $ 8. This over stuffed burrito was filled with grilled chicken, cabbage, Mexican rice, chipotle and some other stuff that I don’t remember, but it was very tasty. The cabbage added a nice crunch while the chipotle added a little smoky heat; but not spicy hot. I paired it their mango salsa; which contrasted nicely with being cold and sweet. My wife enjoyed a steak and chicken flour taco with chips. She ordered her steak well done and it was cooked perfectly. The lettuce, cheese, & cilantro made her tacos light, but filling. It did not include a drink but was under $ 7. The Whole Enchilada also has a small salsa bar with fresh made chunky, cold, and tasty salsas. The Verde salsa is packed with green goodness and the cilantro really adds that extra kick of freshness. Also available are their mango, traditional, smooth pico and roasted tomato salsa; all worth trying. Their service is very friendly and fast. They ask you to take a seat and when you order is ready, they’ll bring it to you. Something you would think that wouldn’t happen in a fast food setting, but The Whole Enchilada is something else; «Fast Casual». While you dine, you listen to yesterday’s hits and today’s favorites, ranging from Peter Gabriel to Soft Cell’s Tainted Love. So theirs a little something for everyone to bob-their-head too while you enjoy your Mexican food. Their menu ranges from traditional taco with chicken, beef, pork, fish, or tofu; burritos, quesadillas and chips and a wide range of soft drinks, and domestic and imported beer. The prices are very reasonable and two can dine for about $ 20 including soft drinks. Parking and seating is limited and you may have to share a table with someone else; but that only adds a little spice to you dish. You never know who you may meet.

Maybe it was an off day, especially considering the employees told me they’ve been open a few years and others have rated them higher, but the nachos were awful. Waste of $ 10.00. I’ll admit that I bought them and brought them back to my office so there was at least 20 minutes from when I bought them to eating them, but even considering the time I think I could have tasted quality or not. There are too many taco places to patronize and unfortunately this one had its chance. Won’t be back.

The last 2 times that we’ve been to this location have just not been good at all. I thought maybe the last time was just an off day as we’ve been to this chain before but I don’t think I will be eating here again. We started off by ordering the 8 oz. Queso dip. The consistency was like a broth. It was so watery that there was nothing to «dip» our chips into. I usually love a Queso dip but this was just horrible. For our entrees, my husband got a Shrimp Tostada Salad and I got 2 tacos, 1 ground beef and 1 steak. The steak didn’t even taste like there was any seasoning at all. The ground beef had the most mild, boring flavor ever. Basically, my tacos sucked. My husband seemed to really enjoy his meal but a few hours later, he ended up getting a bad stomach ache and ended up being in the bathroom for a while. I don’t know if the shrimp was a little expired or if there was cross contamination involved but either way, his stomach ended up not liking the meal. This place has one of those Coca Cola machines that should have a million choices. I wanted Vitamin Water but it was out, as well as the regular Ginger Ale, so I just stuck with Root Beer. One good thing I can say about The Whole Enchilada is they have the best chips around! I highly doubt after this past visit, we will ever come here again.

Great option. I always order salads and they are huge. Normally tofu. Some come with guacamole, or roasted papers and onions. You know… is a menu that you can have everything as a burrito, tuvo, taco salas or salad. They have all basic meats, chicken, beef, pork, fish oh well and tofu. Salsa bar is fresh and well assorted. Options are roasted tomato sauce, mango, salsa, fresh cilantro, limes. You can have your meal with a beer.

Prompt, friendly greeting. Small inside dining area, more covered picnic bench seating is available outside. I chose the Chicken Ensenada Special $ 7.99 that included: Chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato & cilantro in a flour(whole wheat also available) tortilla, with chips and drink. Very bland flavor all around, even with the take out container of Pico de gallo and the chips were mostly stale. Good price & service, but lots of room for improvement on the food.

Nice alternative to the chain food thing. I prefer local type of place over chain food restaurant most of the time. This place has nice burrito, good size portions, ok prices, and great taste. Certainly worth the try if you are in the area or just in the mood for American-Mexican food.

Having been to Chipotle and Qdoba numerous times, I stopped by this place a few weeks ago to see how their food compares so I ordered the«Whole Enchilada Platter» with chicken. They give you plenty to eat but thought the combination of flavors and spices overall wasn’t the best match. Prices were reasonable but I probably won’t be back.

Great lunch spot. Got the tostada salad with mahi mahi, and my boyfriend ordered the one fish tacos and bobs burrito. The bobs burrito was by far the star, and we immediately determined it was«better than Chipotle!» Love the unique façade– it is literally a repurposed gas station– even the bathroom is outside! Kitschy and unique.

The Whole Disappointment. I think maybe I ordered the wrong thing. And this review may fall victim to one of those«Tyler’s on a diet, so any restaurant is going to be terrible» moments. First complaint is the parking lot is a mess. It’s 2 separate tiny little areas that are not easy to maneuver. service was fast and pleasant but this place is basically a less commercial qdoba so hard to actually call it service. To eat, I had the shrimp burrito made into a salad. It was a let down. The honey jalapeño dressing which sounds so good didn’t really taste good on the mounds of romaine with some fixings on top. It was one of those meals that I couldn’t finish but was still hungry afterwards. Maybe next time I’ll just try a burrito.

Great place for Taco Tuesday(after 3pm), lunch, or dinner. The ground beef has tomatoes mixed in, cabbage can be substituted for lettuce, avocado slices are standard in many burritos, and whole wheat tortillas are an option – I feel like I’m treating my body well by eating here(unlike at some nearby Tex-Mex joints). Yesterday I had the ensenada burrito with grilled mahi, cabbage, and cilantro crema – so good! In addition to the tacos and burritos, nachos and the fajita platter are pretty good. The platter is more than enough for one meal. The special changes daily, and includes chips and a drink. All meals include the salsa bar: roasted tomato, pico de gallo, verde, traditional salsa, and mango. They keep the place(a converted gas station) pretty clean, remember your name if you frequent, and act like they care about their jobs. If you don’t want to park in the small lots next to the building, a larger lot lined by a chain-link fence is behind the building across the alley. Downside: –the unisex bathroom is outside and a little dark inside. You need a code to enter. –the chips seem a little undercooked the last few times I’ve been there. This may be due to business volume, still, it’s probably why other reviewers think the chips are stale. Those two issues aside, I’ve pretty much stopped going to a lot of their competitors because the food and atmosphere is so good.

This place is excellent. I really prefer their burritos to chipotle. Most burritos include avocado and generally taste healthier than that offered at other burritos places. My favorite is the black tiger burrito! Taco Tuesday is a particularly good deal with their huge tacos! Highly recommended!

This is hands down my new favorite Mexican spot. I got the shrimp tacos without the cabbage and with the sauce on the side. It was amazing!!! I also tried a bite of my sisters salad and that was delicious too. We all spit an order of the queso and I think I’m going to have to order the small side of that every time I go here. I am so happy that I found a quick Mexican restaurant that I like. The people that work here are definitely on top of their game. I got there like 10 minutes before they opened and the girl came outside and asked if I wanted to wait inside while they finished setting up since it was hot outside. They ended up taking my order 5 minutes before they opened and I was out of there by 11am. They were very friendly too! Five stars all the way!!!

I go here all the time — it’s my go to taco Tuesday place! Their specials are always a great deal. I’ve tried many things on the menu, and I have loved everything I’ve tried(which is nearly impossible, if you ask me). I recommend the Chicken Ensenada Burrito — which is filled with healthy grilled chicken, lettuce, Tomatoe and none of the unhealthy stuff(cheese, etc.)! And it still tastes awesome! Their salsa bar is perfect — huge selection — and the drinks come from one of those«add your own flavors» machines, if you’re into that sort of thing. Enjoy!

Very cool Mexican place, I’m a chipotle fan and this place is pretty up there but they have more variety on their menu! Yummy nachos and very very good fish tacos. The place is really nice and I love the outdoor seating area! The décor is super cool and they did an awesome woodwork job in the place. A cool joint to come back to whenever in the area. Great staff and delish food!
