Too bad it’s no longer there. MUCH better than the other location…

I have to rate it a one star«Methinks not» since it is CLOSED! Fortunately it is only goodbye to this location as the other location of Texas Hold’em BBQ on Federal Highway is open and doing a relatively brisk business.

Went here today … great food, huge portions I had one of the combo’s baby back ribs and beef brisket lots of flavor and the sauce is top notch. Don’t forget to order the collard greens ! Someone next to us ordered the«all in» sandwich it’s big enough to share and looked great. they have moved from the address that is listed on Unilocal so you might want to call and get directions they are in a plaza at the corner of US1 and Sunrise.

Simply, the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Their BBQ sauce is amazingly delicious.

I went to the location at 1025 North Federal Highway. The whole experience was BAD. I went there at about 4:30, and my boyfriend and I were the only ones there. We sat down, and were greeted very quickly by our server. She smelled like cigarette, her shirt was very dirty, and looked as though she needed someone to address her personal hygiene. Our food came out incredibly fast, which we were happy to see, until it got to the table. I can only imagine that it was all sitting in the back, probably since lunch, if not longer. The mac n cheese was hard, and was room temperature, the beans were mostly sauce, and, the bun was so dry it was falling apart. Nothing actually tasted that bad, but I can’t imagine going back and subjecting myself to old, stale, cold food, and a dirty server. No thanks.

Great BBQ — went with a bunch of friends so we tried a lot of the RIbs, Chicken, Mac and Cheese. Everything was very tasty — very tender Ribs and a fantastic sauce. One of the best BBQ joints in South Florida.

This place has great food but the Texas Hold ‘em off of SW7th is really shady and dirty inside. The newest Texas Hold ‘em BBQ off Federdal Highway is 10x better and its sit down. There is absolutely NOBBQ joint with beef brisket like Texas Hold ‘em. I do however have to say that the prices are quite high for what you’re really getting. My husband and I split 1lb beef brisket with two tiny sides which comes out to almost $ 17 — NOT including drinks. It’s ridiculously priced — they should really consider dropping the prices, maybe then they’d get more customers!

Tiny little BBQ Shack with some good food This little barn looking shack with a smoker attached doesn’t look like one of those powerhouse BBQ joints, but they really sell some good grub here. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the BBQ coming from the back. There is an empty room(not even tables) where there is a counter that runs along the walls with plenty of stools. The girl working at the counter is real friendly and nice. The menu has your typical BBQ staples. Pulled pork, brisket, ribs, chicken, etc. The real value is to come during lunch. Their BBQ is a little pricier than other places I’ve been to, but their lunch specials are great.(around $ 6 for BBQ and a side). The Rib lunch was good. The bbq ribs were tender, but they weren’t really fall-off-the-bone kind of ribs. They were also smaller than most BBQ places would serve their ribs. They did have a wonderful smokey taste. The sauce is the real winner. They have this INCREDIBLE smokey BBQ sauce. The mac and cheese is better than most BBQ places I’ve been to. The sweet tea was real good and SUPER sweet(but I think they buy it from a store as opposed to being home-brewed). Great place for lunch. Just plain good food.

don’t see the rave reviews found place by accident while looking for Nacho Bizness International Taco Bar(Yum). Had the pulled pork sandwich lunch special with a side of slaw… Chopped not pulled pork(not a deal breaker) just a hint of smoke and tasteless BBQ sauce… Did not have the brisket or ribs but the pork not in a class with Giorgia pig or even Tom Jenkins!

This place is great. Sat at the bar, watched the game and enjoyed some beer and bbq. Had a brisket sandwich and i’ll definitely be coming back for more. It was recommended that I try the mac & cheese there. Tasted buttery and good, admittedly not the healthiest thing ever, but good ‘que with good sides is an important part of anyone’s diet and I’m sure I’ll be frequenting this place, especially during March Madness(think: big screen). Forget the healthy place next door, go here ;-) for good ‘que and friendly service.

Delicious BBQ… good sized portions… reasonably priced. All the food here is great. I recommend the«All in Sandwich» which is a colossal tower of delicious goodness… two texas toast pieces sandwiching cole slaw and pulled chicken(or pork if thats what u prefer). The smoked chicken here is off the chain. Love this place. A def«go-to» in downtown Fort Lauderdale when in the mood for BBQ.

Rivals Tom Jenkins. All-In-One sandwich can’t be beat. The sides are only fair — but the pulled pork(lean and smoky) is reason enough to visit.

Very close to the Broward County Courthouse and directly across the street from Hardy Park. Parking is tricky. $ 6 for a pork sandwich and a side is a deal. Limited stool seating indoors and a few picnic tables outside. Prompt and courteous service.

Easily one of my favourite BBQ places in the Miami area. Dropped by here based on reviews and nearness to the IMAX theatre. Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were phenomenal! Very satisfying and tasty.

Happened upon this while looking for the new playground on Andrews Ave. It is a MAJOR find, in my book. We had the lunch special, $ 6.00 for a pulled pork sandwich and a side. We had collards and mac n cheese and corn on the cob for good measure. The sandwiches were deeeeelicious. Sauce on the side, which is perfect. Collards were nice and salty goodness and the mac and cheese was real, homemade. The corn was a little overcooked, but tasty nonetheless. My only hesitation against 5 stars is that they are a very styrofoam-heavy kind of place, which I don’t like. But I’ll be back!

Best BBQ sauce ever(sweet and spicy, really different). I have been there three times now and every time the food was excellent. Favorites include the pulled pork, the nachos(bbq nachos, they are SO good) the potato salad and that incredible sauce, which he sells by the bottle.(It’s now a staple in my fridge) The location is a little off the beaten path but it’s easy enough to find and if you prefer, they deliver. We are very lucky to have a few great BBQ choices in Fort Lauderdale but even in such stiff compitition, this place shines.

Drove by Texas Hold Em after a deposition, saw the smokehouse outside and promptly turned around. This is REAL barbecue — the sauce is on the SIDE, not on the meat. Loved the pulled pork, mac n cheese, collard greens and cole slaw… and I don’t even like cole slaw! Very friendly service and affordable prices($ 6 lunch special? Yes, please). Can’t wait to go back! Look for the man holding the sign on the corner of Andrews and 7th to point the way.

Started as a roadside BBQ trailer and nothing else(except the meat that they cooked on the grill). Now it’s a small building and the food is really tasty. The pulled pork is the top eats there. Really good. Solid sauce and it’s a large helping for a great price. It’s in a fun little section of town, but don’t be scared(or just go at lunch time).
