I have to say this place reminds me lot of the restaurants in Colorado which makes me VERY happy. They have so any items on the menu that are unique in such a wonderful way. I ordered the chicken and waffles for brunch. The waffles are cornbread waffles with a butterscotch syrup on the side. The chicken is CRISOY on the outside and moist on the inside. It was definitely a different take on chicken & waffles but I really enjoyed it. the serving size is HUGE so split it with someone or be prepared to take some home. The chicken is a ½ chicken. The truffle fries are to die for!!! My friend ordered bloody Mary’s which looked FANTASTIC. We had drank here the night before for my Bachelorette party, our server was the same for both the evening and dat. He took care of us by giving us some truffle fries after we paid the bill. We were kind of crazy and he handled our table wonderfully. The drinks are unique and tasty. Definitely one of my favorite places.

The kale salad with the salmon is amazing! I’ve never eaten a bad meal at this place! If you’re standing near the bar, the walkway gets a little tight, so that’s a little annoying. Other than that, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Interesting experience at the Royal Pub a few weeks ago. I ordered a salmon dish, an entrée that didn’t list any meat products on the description. When I received it, I realized the accompanying side dish had sausage. I told the waiter that I don’t eat meat and didn’t realize this dish had meat because it wasn’t listed in the description. I asked him if I could have a different side. He offered the succotash instead and I said yes, as long as it didn’t have any meat. When he returned with the succotash, I realized this too had sausage. When I politely pointed this out, he seemed annoyed. Because of his reaction I told him I’ll just have the salmon filet on its own. He removed the side dish and said he’d only charge me for the filet. The waiter offered an insincere apology only when it came time for us to pay the bill. Everyone else in my group enjoyed the food and my salmon was delicious but the service needs much improvement.

The organic salmon and sweet potato casserole side are the way to go– that is if you are a salmon or sweet potato person. I moved to Fort Lauderdale last March and quite honestly the sweet potato casserole is the best thing I’ve eaten here since I moved. No joke. The menu is filled with a variety of other American classics too. Can’t wait to try something off the menu soon!

It’s pretty dead around 3pm and it was unusual for me to be there so early. I’m usually only there on weekend evenings when it’s packed. Ordered off the specials menu and had seabass with a side of peaches and cottage cheese. Seabass was great and fell apart when you stuck your fork in but I wasn’t a fan of the too-tart onions and green beans that sat on top. Great service.

This was my best dining experience while visiting Fort Lauderdale. I enjoyed everything about it, the tasty specialty drinks, the delicious food, and a warm atmosphere. As an appetizer I had the chef’s BLT and it was absolutely amazing. A generous portion of pork belly between grilled endive and fried green tomatoes with a mustardo, this is a must have for any bacon lover. I had the chicken and waffles as my main course which did not disappoint. I feel in order to really appreciate the chef’s vision you have to combine all the flavor combinations of the dish. It’s like a marriage of flavors dancing on your palate. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in town.

A great place to eat, drink and watch the games. A huge bar with attentive bartenders. A fully stocked bar with many beer choices. We had a pulled pork sandwich and chicken and waffles. They were huge and tasted awesome. I think the waffles were made from corn break mixing and my friend and I actually loved it. Would definitely come back here.

I love the ribs here but it’s a hit or miss how much I love the way they cook it. I’ve had it where the meat is tender, juicy and falling off the bone. But I’ve also had it where it was dry, over cooked and not flavored enough. The last time it was a hit. The BBQ sauce is very good, tangy sweet and thick. The Brussel sprouts underneath are soft and so flavorful. It’s very tasty. If you like your veggies crunchy and crispy, you might not enjoy these little balls of mush but if you’re like me and prefer them cooled throughly, then you’ll love these! The appetizer portion is enough for me. The potato mushroom soup was the daily choice. It was nice and creamy. It wasn’t over salty which is always my worry. This was thick and had lots of potato and mushroom pieces inside.

This was our first time at the Royal Pig. My wife and I were in Ft Lauderdale for vacation. The Royal Pig has an amazingly diverse menu. Something for every appetite. From Kale and Organic Turkey salad to high-stacked Angus Burgers or exotic Bloody Mary’s with thick-cut bacon. I know that putting«bacon» in a food-related review involves a little bit of cheating, but this was one of the best Bloody Marys I’ve ever tasted. Spicey with a bite but the tomato juice keeps it cool and smooth, Yum. What a great atmosphere. If you go to watch a game there are ample options with plenty of screens around the bar. We watched an NFL game as we ate lunch. The Skins beat the Cowboys. Our lunch however went into overtime. There was an open air market across the street from the Royal Pig that day, likely a regular Sunday event. After a little looking at the market we came back for dessert. I had the Whiskey Bread Pudding and my wife kept it simple with Vanilla Ice Cream. The bread pudding was over-the-top incredible. Warm, pecans and gooey white chocolate. I think that sums it up. To say I will go again is an understatement. The question is will it be before the end of this trip to Fort Lauderdale.

MMMMYUM! Excellent menu with original options. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which had fried pickles on it, delicious! Their burgers are outstanding, quality meat that just melts in your mouth. They don’t have a kids menu, which was disappointing because I had to order an adult menu item for my daughter. She got the chicken fingers and fries and they were delicious. Their sweet potato fries have a fantastic sweet sauce on top of them, wonderful! Good selection of beers on draft. I would definitely come back!

Had a really nice lunch the other day and was really impressed with the impeccable service we were provided by our server, Kevin. I ordered a beer and the buffalo shrimp app and my boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken. Each dish was delicious and filling. The buffalo sauce had just the right amount of heat. Kevin came around to check on us several times and was very attentive. I will def return when craving some buffalo sauce and great beer!

Been here several times cause its one my favorite spots in Ft Laud. Good crowd, plenty of screens w/live sports, talented bartenders and friendly servers. It gets pretty busy on the weekends after 2−3pm. Park behind the Bank of America across the street. I think it’s only 2 bucks in weekends. I have tried 2 amazing burger sandwiches here. Porchetta & Ahi Tuna Tonnato which has shaved Pork Shoulder, Tuna Tartare, Tonnato Aioli, Caper Fennel Slaw on Onion Roll. This was messy to eat but bursting with flavor. The other one was the Royal Hangover Burger. Sunny side egg on tender prime beef w/pulled pork, housemade ketchup & mayo sitting on top of fries. This enormous burger beast is perfectly paired w/choice of fries. I love their crispy parmesan truffle fries. Other must haves here are the Bacon Mac & Cheese and Killer Shrimp Buffalo apps. Also, if your server can hook you up with their homemade corn bread, get it! Their cocktails here are also well prepped, not watered down. Will keep coming back for more :)

Mitchell is one of the best servers I have ever had. He is personable, friendly, knowledgeable(and, when he didn’t know an answer to a question, he went off and asked someone else, not always a common trait), and efficient. Kristi Q, if you’re reading this, please give this young man some recognition! He was there for our table when we needed him, but the interactions never felt intrusive. I’m definitely looking forward to going back and being one of his tables! My man and I went on this past rainy Sunday and it was PACKED. It was barren on Las Olas(I think I saw a tumbleweed roll by), but when we opened RP’s doors, it was booming. Good for them! We were given their new Sunday Football Menu, which has brunch-like offerings. I ordered the womelette(omelette over a waffle), beignets(I read on a Unilocal review that the chef was from New Orleans) and Sangria. My boyfriend saw my picture of the Chef’s BLT and couldn’t resist ordering that with a Bloody Mary. Get the Bloody Mary. Have you seen my Unilocal tip? Get it. Just do it. Shhh… The Chef’s BLT was everything it was when I had it a few days before, dangerously delicious. The womelette was pretty good; it was a large waffle topped with an egg omelette with some bacon and PORKBELLYCOULIS yaaaaaaaaasss. Can’t go wrong with pork belly. It was served with a side of Salted Maple Butter Sauce. Heavenly. I’ve had better omelettes before, but the flavor profiles and ridiculousness of a dish called womelette didn’t disappoint. The beignets, dare I say it, were better(don’t kill me) than the ones I had at Café du Monde a few weeks ago. You get four in an order served with a decadent chocolate bourbon syrup. Can I buy a bottle of that stuff? Please? Shout out to the tall, thin lady running around in a grey sweatshirt that day. She was getting ish DONE! Nice to see someone working hard and being organized, helping things in the dining area run smoothly. The host/hostesses that were there during the week when I went for lunch were a little unprofessional; there was an employee unabashedly staring at an existing customer’s behind, even peeking his head out of the door after her rump. Gross. So, when I walked in, everyone was still in the moment and laughing about it. When I told them I would be dining by myself that day, a young man pointed me straight to the bar and didn’t ask if I would have preferred any other seating option(they weren’t full at the time I went). Even though some of the staff is openly childish, it won’t stop me from going to experience the magic that lies behind the host stand. Royal Pig, I will be back and I will eat everything on your menu. That’s a promise.

The Royal Pig is one of those approachable gastropub type places that is not too enamored with itself to stop thinking about the customer. It’s a solid addition to downtown Las Olas and is suitable for either grabbing a meal or just grabbing a drink. I’ve been here a few times, and if it’s the weekend it’s always tough to find seating once dinner time rolls around. Luckily, they serve food at the bar, which is a good spot to grab early, because it offers quicker service. There’s a fairly loud ambiance inside once it gets busy, but it’s not disturbing. There’s also an outside bar which is usually well populated but not crowded. Bartenders and servers seem to know their stuff. For an appetizer, I have to recommend the skillet cornbread. Extremely flavorful(love that butter!), it definitely packs a healthy punch on its own. If you’re not in the mood for a full meal and just want to graze, this is a solid option. The nachos are also a good choice, especially if you want to share. As an entrée, my favorite was the Bacon Mac and Cheese. They call this thing an appetizer, but it can easily be a main meal, hence its listing under entrée. Maybe not the best choice if you’re getting ready for a long night as it will probably put you in a cheese coma before an hour has passed, but so delicious. Something about bacon and cheese is just a wonderful combination. Bread crumbs never hurt either! If you must have a traditional entrée, try the 8oz filet. Can’t go wrong with a good steak! Well… unless you’re a vegetarian. But if that’s the case, they have salads that can accommodate. As it is a pub, expect a wide variety of drink options. The wine menu is not overwhelming, but pretty hefty. Similarly, there are a fair amount of craft beers on tap, including perennial craft darlings such as goose island, magic hat, etc. Myself, I’m more of a cocktail guy, so that’s usually what I end up grabbing when I’m there. I sometimes get an old fashioned, which they do very well with(bartenders are well versed in the classic cocktails). However, also consider trying some of their signature drinks. The Blood Orange Caipiroska and the Cucumber And Mint Berry Lemonade can be easily recommended. It’s Florida, fruity drinks are allowed and encouraged. I’m particularly fond of the blood orange. If you do come here, be sure to look at the full menu(available here on Unilocal) so you know what kind of prices you’re getting into. Remember, this is a gastropub, on Las Olas nonetheless, so expect to pay more than at your local bar. The prices are well within the range of the other Las Olas restaurants. Fair for the location and quality. If you’re in the area, this is a great dinner spot if you don’t mind a little bit of a crowd or you make reservations. It’s also a great jumping off spot to other places, such as YOLO and Vibe across the street if you’re into night life. Be sure to check out the Royal Pig!

I visited this week for lunch. I really like the interior décor of this restaurant. After being seated and presented with the menu I chose the Mahi Club sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. The food arrived 10 – 15 minutes later. The sandwich was a grilled piece of Mahi on a bun with bacon, lettuce, tomato, etc. the sandwich was good however it was so tall that it was impossible to eat without cutting it up with a knife. When I did this it literally fell apart into many pieces that kind of lessened my dining experience! I appreciate making a sandwich big but I think you cross a line when it can’t be compressed enough to fit in your mouth or be cut in half and stay together. The sweet potato fries were good. I am giving an overall score of 3 for my meal. This restaurant may be better than a 3 however that was my experience. My table service was very good.

The food here was delicious. Mac n cheese with pork belly was amazing. I had the Hawaiian grass fed ground turkey burger which is topped w Mozzarella buffala and grilled pineapple. They had some interesting salad choices(if you want to eat healthy) which included a warmed spinach salad and a grilled Cesar. My friend had the kale salad w pine nuts and a lemon vinaigrette that was great. For dessert we had a life changing bourbon bread pudding w a condensed milk sauce that took about 20 minutes to make but worth every calorie. Note: if you’re coming to try the chicken and waffles it is not served until after 5pm.

Fast wait staff, tasty food, and a good environment– I’m all for it! I visited the Royal Pig Pub to watch the FSU vs. UM game(awkward, I’m a Gator!) and had an incredible time. Just like any other sports bar, this place has a bunch of TV’s however, what sets the Royal Pig apart is their food choices. We had the duck nachos, amazing! They were filled with duck, crunchy, and fresh. All the drinks we had were strong, and service was great. If you’re in the area and are debating between here & American Social, definitely give this place a try.

Over 300 reviews and 4 stars. Do you really need to read any reviews? No. You dont. Just look through the gallery and let your mouth start watering, then, plan your royal calorie overload and make it happen. Food is great — by the time i opened my camera up i had already eaten the burger… sorry. If you prefer your beer on your lap then opt for the schooner.

Came here on a Friday night to celebrate a friends 30th Birthday. Arrived around 7:30 and a group of our friends had been there for about 20 mins — our name was already on the list. Half of us sat at the bar and the rest of us stood because it was PACKED! I didn’t like how there was no complimentary or discount parking for dining here … It’s such a great place and it’s so packed. Why not offer this? There’s a parking garage a few hundred feet away. Biggest downfall — they do NOT take reservations! WHAT!!! Honestly, this is ridiculous! Like I stated before, our group arrived here and had our name on the list around 7:00 on a Friday(that’s not even prime time yet). We didn’t get seated until after 9:30! Oh and — they sat us at two different tables. I was already really disappointed. This place redeemed themselves with their amazing food. I will give credit where credit is due … The food is seriously amazing! The service was good. The waitress was nice and pretty on top of things. The atmosphere is cool — kinda small place for how busy they are. Right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Everything is within walking distance. The food is a little pricy — but the food was delicious. I was overly impressed with my pork shoulder. I mean it was prob the best pork dish I’ve ever had! Would I come here again? Probably but NOT on a weekend! Waiting over 2 hours is insane. Had it not been for our friends birthday I would have walked out.
