Wow — 16 $ for a shrimp cocktail with three mediocre shrimp in a bowl with wilted lettuce and no crushed ice. Don’t eat here, it’s not worth it. I only gave one star for the nice bartender. It’s not 2005 W, do better.

The food here is great! We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed our meal. Inside they have all green and blue colored sofas witch are very comfortable. They also have great seats out side with an awesome view.

I went on a weeknight, and I am sure to come back for a weekend night. The lounge is very relaxing, great views of beach, decent prices and sizes for appetizers, and a very attentive wait staff. You can easily spend hours there.

Sooooo there is no bass at this club, because of a noise ordinance, according to the DJ. Ugh, it was like listening to my Bluetooth speaker for the phone… the whisky lounge downstairs was much more bumpin. Expensive drinks, hella Cougars, and a bad sound system :(the music selection, though, was good.

Wonderful Stop Along The Beautiful Ft. Lauderdale Beachscape — Drink-Chill-Enjoy-Life SITREP The Living Room at the W is a beautiful cocktail lounge with a beautiful vibe to just relax, chill with friends and enjoy some tasty cocktails. THESETUP I came here with some beautiful engaging friends that our muse Ashley M. brought together. She introduced us to the lovely bartendress and we sat back and share a couple of drinks while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on a gorgeous warm day. PATIO The patio here is utterly amazing, both for it’s view overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, as well for it’s sumptious furnishings. Comfortable, elegant, whimsical, all the perfect set-up for an afternoon of gazing under the sun, or even more so to enjoy the sunset-twilight over the ocean blue: THEBAR It is well stocked. We asked Elizabeth to make us any drink and she was right there with our favorite concoctions from her extensive inventory of spirits: BEAUTIFULSCENERY Did I already mention the Atlantic Ocean? Cause I defy anyone find a more perfect beach side view than this: WIFI I wouldn’t exactly come here to check my email, but then if I was staying in the hotel itself, I might enjoy bringing the laptop down and taking advantage of the view on deck, soaking up sun, and shooting off into the interwebz as well. THELOWDOWN The Living Room at the W is great way to continue to enjoy the chill vibe of Ft. Lauderdale.

Oh my. This was lovely. The vibe on a late weeknight was superchill and the view/ocean breezes were AMAZING. The cocktail servers were efficient and courteous. The drinks were good and while they offer a pretty big bar menu, I didn’t really partake of that. Finding the location was a bit dicey if you’re not staying in the hotel but I figured it out. Also if you’re not going to valet, there are street parking spots which are metered, 24÷7÷365 which is pretty lame.

The perfect place to end a date during the week. Grab dinner somewhere on Las Olas, then take a quick 5min drive to the W, walk upstairs to Living Room, order a couple of drinks, take them outside and enjoy the ocean view and cool breeze. Every time we’ve been to Living Room on a weeknight we’ve had the entire patio to ourselves. Just sit back on one of their couches and take in all Ft. Lauderdale beach has to offer — it’s very relaxing. Enjoy!

The living room at the W is so impressive. The design really took my breathe away it was so luxurious and special. If James bond was going to seduce one of his leading ladies he would totally do it here. When I walked out to the balcony the view of the ocean was amazing and I loved the chic outdoor furniture. I recommend this place if you want to splurge a little and live the posh life. The drinks are pricey but honestly looking at the place it’s not really a surprise. They also have billiard tables and a private sitting area separated by metal bead curtains. My only wish is having hookah as an option for the balcony @.@ that would be my dream come true to sit out on that breathtaking balcony and smoke hookah and talk the night away.

The living room at the W is the perfect place for relaxing after the first official Unilocal Spring Break event. It was a short walk away with street parking and an amazing 180 degree view overlooking the Atlantic Ocean! Elizabeth our wonderful bartender from Cuba made amazing mojitos and her specialty the girl next door was super strong and made me hit the one and done rule. All the unofficial Unilocal event planners were here to welcome Michelangelo and me and eventually John to the bar. it’s a super fantastic place to chill but of course the drinks are a little pricey. Thank you again Ashley for planning this great get together!

Lively and trendy and decent drinks but the huge space overwhelms the crowd. It seems to always stick near the bar like addicts. Music is pretty good and flows well with the ambience. Not the best place to make a regular stop but perhaps now and then.

Located on the 4th floor of the W Hotel, the Living Room is a chic lounge and a cool place to hang for an hour or two. Very relaxed atmosphere, plenty of seating, and even two pool tables over on the side. Music and DJ is hit or miss depending on the day and/or event. But this is not really a place where one goes to dance. Even though there is a spacious dance area. Rather a cool place to stop by for a drink or two, and chill before heading out on the town. I have gone to the Living Room twice and both times on a Saturday Nite. They close at 2am but I wouldn’t stay past midnite. It serves as a nice warmer upper for the night. Great balcony view too of the moon off the ocean!

I believe that in order to write a great, and well rounded review, one has to take both an objective and subjective stance. Let’s take the atmosphere for instance: the decoration reflects and is congruent with the W mystique. Call it art nouveau or avant guard… this different, dimmed ambiance is what the W is all about. If you want contemporary or classic, this may not be the place for you but keep in mind that this is one of the factors that sets the W apart from other high end hotels. Let’s take a closer look at Living Room. This is a lounge/bar that is very clean offers an array of wine and spirits with a full bar and a full staff. The food selection may seem slightly limited but what they have is very low priced for such a high end hotel and if you want a full meal here instead of going to Steak 954, you can always have them bring you a menu from Steak 954 and they will bring the food to you. So selection is not an issue, neither is the service. I can understand how service can be diluted to many on a crowded of popular day/night but if there’s an issue, that’s what management is for. Bring it up to their attention! Again this is the W so expect alcohol to be stiffly but not horribly priced. A vodka on the rocks(Chopin) just cost me $ 12. I didn’t think that was bad at all. I highly recommend speaking to the concierge(spoke with German– a total gentleman and exemplar W employee) before being seated so he can ensure your unforgettable experience!

Located on the fourth floor, which is also the floor where the W Hotel’s main lobby and check-in desk is located, is the Living Room. It basically serves as a bar, morning coffee area, waiting area and light food or snack area. By no means is it, with a very limited menu assortment, a main restaurant. If you want a meal, brunch, lunch, dinner or even a light snack, my suggestion would be to go down to the first floor to Steak 954 which has an extensive menu of top quality as well as innovative food offerings. The Living Room area however is big, really big, having a large seating capacity bar, excellent service, an outdoor balcony area with drop dead gorgeous views overlooking the beach and the ocean. Also a good number of tiny alcove like privacy drinking and eating areas. The food offerings of the Living Room are limited as well as pricey for what you get. Though their cheeseburger is of double patty meat, $ 17 is in my opinion not a bargain value. The drink offers however are more extensive containing a list of both house as well as custom cocktail creations. And, if you like, there are also a couple of pool tables located just across from the main stairwell.

I ordered $ 14 glass of pinot noir wine and they wanted to serve it in a very small wine glass… not cool… insisted that they do not have larger glasses when why I was there and 9 p.m. … at the commence of the event. The spanish machismo bartender is very arrogant thinks he’s doing you a favor . I also paid valet parking so I could walk to my car !? !? They literally handed me the key.

This is a really cool hotel bar. Naturally you’d expect a cut above the rest when you’re in a hotel like the W. The drink prices were in line with the ambiance. If I lived in the area, I’d even consider making this venue a «usual».

I was surprised to learn they now have a small bar ‘food’ menu. I ordered the Mahi Mahi soft tacos with red slaw, they were very good, and priced right at $ 12. They have a lot of freshly muddled drinks, indoor and outdoor seating with amazing views of the beach, and upscale trendy vibe. I haven’t been to the W in probably 2 years, but I really enjoyed my Friday night HH there. It would be awesome if they got some TV’s and make it an upscale sports bar during Football Season.

One of my go to places for drinks — anytime. I come here to unwind, have a Bloody Mary before a massage at Bliss, or just to mix and mingle with the many interesting people staying at the hotel. I have met MANY interesting people from all over the world here. The service here is top notch. Always friendly and ready to pour the best cocktails! Late nights here(typically weekends) are a blast when it turns into a large, upscale club. Filled with Fort Lauderdale(and many other location’s) finest, you can always expect amazing grooves to dance to from the DJ. It is a good place to come for the well groomed and free spirited pretty people. I feel so comfortable here — it feels like coming home.

A nice change of place from the bars on A1A. Very cool atmosphere, fostered by a good mix of loungey music. Drinks are pricey, but it’s the W, what can you expect? In the end, I found the Living Room to be the perfect place for a late night drink. In my opinion, it’s worth a visit if you’re in town and looking relax a bit away from the craziness of Fort Lauderdale’s main bar scene.

When looking for a little of «upscale», it’s a good try, not always it is the way it should. but. what you’re gonna do?! It’s a shame that the DJ seems to have a cd playing. the songs are old and most of times are the same musics… they should try something more«lounge/House/New Songs kind of thing.
