Finally got back to Ft. Lauderdale after many years and was looking forward to visiting Leatherwerks again. My shopping trip turned out to be very disappointing. The store is spacious and well-stocked, but the staff was indifferent at best — no one greeted us or asked us if they could help us find anything. I finally asked one of the salespeople about a custom order(maybe a $ 200 item), and they said I would have to come back another day, that the person who takes the measurements wasn’t in that day. Unfortunately that didn’t work for me, I was leaving the following morning. I understand they want to maintain customer satisfaction on custom orders, but wouldn’t it also be possible to train more than one salesperson to take measurements? I was also disappointed that they didn’t have any pairs of Stompers’ Dogmaster boots that I was interested in getting — and surprised, given that Leatherwerks owns Stompers and the Dogmaster boot is an exclusive style made just for them. Even when I was at the checkout purchasing something the staff was busy talking amongst themselves — so rude and annoying! I was surprised by this, too, because their service has always been so good every summer at their Delta store. A local friend explained the situation to me later, saying«That must be because Bearman(the owner) wasn’t there.» I look forward to revisiting Ft. Lauderdale, but won’t bother heading back to Leatherwerks again.

I ordered a pup hood from them for one of my pups birthdays. I will admit the product itself is awesome. But their shipping department sucks. Took three weeks to get the item I ordered. I could understand if the item had to be made first, but it was something that was already in stock. I contacted them a few days after placing my online order, as I hadn’t received a confirmation or tracking information. It took 4 days to get a response. Once I got tracking info for the hood, it took them 2 weeks to even get it out of their shop! They kept telling me it was shipped, so I contacted the shipping company and was informed that the label was printed but they never received it. Instead of telling customers that it shipped, be honest and tell them someone screwed up! To say the least the item was received well after the day it was needed. Not a happy handler, and had a sad pup as a result. Next time I’ll just order from Mr. S — yes the prices are higher but I’ll have it in three days for sure.

Great customer service, poor policy. Product broke before I could get back home. They tell me to send back to manufacturer? What happened to standing behind the product you carry and the retailer doing the legwork?

I think this place is great, but let me explain a few things… first, yes, its a «kink» shop. With a more than heavy slant towards the gay community, at least in my observations. So, if that«offends» your delicate sensibilities, then go to hot topic. I’m a biker and these guys are the best in town with working with leather. We use them mainly to have our patches sewn on our vests, nothing to crazy, but they are always more then happy to help and they do great work. You’d be surprised how hard it is to find a fixed location shop that has the machines to sew with leather. As a straight guy(not that there’s anything wrong with that), I’ve never felt uncomfortable while in there(as I have heard others say). They guys are helpful, friendly, and always up for a lively chat while you wait for your pieces to be worked on… any questions or ideas or thoughts I have on leather products(vests, bags, boots, etc…), I always stop in there first to get their opinion… and boots, they got cool boots… I like good boots. No matter what your orientation or taste, its worth a walk around, some pretty interesting stuff in there. My only negative review would be that I wish they would branch out to more«non kink» items, but the respect the community gives them speaks loads to their character and to their work ethic. I’ll keep going there… got new vests and patches coming, got get em on straight(no pun intended).

Always enjoy visiting this place. Everything you can just about be looking for. Not on the cheap side but definitely well worth it. Constantly getting leather pieces to add to my collection. Not as diverse as staff I would hope for but definitely friendly.

I’m a member of a lot of kink organizations, Chicago Hellfire and Delta just to name two, so I’ve been around and generally know my way around. Without hesitation I can honestly say that Leather Werks is just about as good as it gets for kink leather goods, S&M, B&D and such other supplies. The sales staff is knowledgeable, very knowledgeable. So, if you aren’t, don’t be shy; just ask them and they won’t lead you wrong. They aren’t just sales clerks as is the case in so many little sexual device shops and outlets so frequently found around. These guys are all true professionals and act accordingly. Also, the quality of the goods they sell are generally top of the line, not the«for novelty use only» trash most other places handle. I’ve also had Leather Werks do numerous items of custom work for me and each piece that they made ether met or exceeded my expectations.

Kid in a candy store. They have leather and cloth kilts! I was just looking around and going into sensory overload. I didn’t buy anything this trip due to the fact that I was obviously in shock at finding such a cool place. I browsed through the store as a 300lb gorilla was fitted with a shoulder harness from the days of gladiators and took note of everything that I wanted. I figured it would be better to return and make a purchase at a later date otherwise I might go broke.

Love this place. The zipper on my favorite leather cincher broke and my pet took it to Leatherwerks to be fixed after I spoke to a great guy at Ramrod at their shop there. They did a fabu job and seriously put the best zipper ever on it. I don’t think this thing will ever break now. When I picked up the cincher I did a little shopping, great quality stuff for the fetish & leather scene. I’m from NYC, and frequent places like The Leather Man & London so this was a welcoming surprise here in FL. My girlfriend also had a custom made leather flogger done here and it’s down right beautiful. Great helpful staff, top quality stuff, and they do custom leather work, so how can you go wrong?! If you’re in the scene this is a much better place than the over priced cheap quality stuff at fetish factory.
