Good riddance to the worst Italian restaurant ever in Weston. Every dish lacked flavor and the prices were ridiculously inflated. We went here once and did a happy dance when we later saw it closed!

Finally came to this place after years of passing by and was very pleased. The gnocchi with fillet mignon & mushrooms was delicious! Also the bread was outstanding…

The service was good and the menu looked so promising, but the salmon salad almost bored me to tears. It was two small filets on a bed of greens with some minced tomatoes and a vinaigrette. We need some more vegetables, beans, or cheese up in there. The prices were a bit steep for what it was. I think the menu needs to get a little more creative and additive.

They serve brunch on Sundays now — 11 – 2 or 3. From smoked salmon to made to order omelets and Belgian waffles to tortellini to lasagna(though the latter was a little Chef Boyardee-ish), I really enjoyed the spread. And the bottomless mimosas you can get for the price of just 2 is IL delicioso! If you are in the Weston hood– definitely stop in for your one main meal of the day. For $ 20 for adults; 15 for kids — pretty good value. Capiche?

A few years back(new to Unilocal) we took a group of 12 – 15 to Il Toscano to celebrate my wife’s 34th birthday: Most everyone thought the food was ok to good. so 3 stars for the food. We are drinkers and all seemed to like the bar and its service, so 4 stars for the bar. The food service was slow(somewhat allowable for a large group). However I’ve never been so embarrassed . The bill came to $ 750(with tax and 18% tip incl approxitely $ 105). The group left $ 746 as noone could come up with the additional $ 4.00(we all dipped into the wallets to get it that close). As we were outside the waiter came outside and said we left him 4.00 short. It is my understanding that the 18% is not mandatory hence the word«tip». I paid him the 5.00 and will never return again. SOZEROSTARSFORTHESERVICE. Flabbergasted! If I am wrong and the waiter is correct please let me know!

Myself and a coworker came here for dinner since it was right down the street from our hotel. The food was fantastic. We had the bruschetta and calamari for apps and the Veal Chop special as an entrée. Sassone was our server and was great. It was later on a Sunday so he was the one making the drinks and was very generous on the whiskey portions. Great food and great service! Highly recommended.

I ate here this evening with my mother. Both of us don’t drink and that seems to be a huge draw for this place. The atmosphere was okay. I don’t particularly like having people hovering around me so that was uncomfortable. I decided to sit outside since I felt it was too cold in the restaurant to actually enjoy the dining experience. Plus, they were playing music a little louder than I would want since I planned on actually talking to my mother. The food was okay. The complimentary bread seemed stale and even my Sprite was a little off. I ordered a house salad to start and my mother ordered a caesar salad. My house salad was not impressive to look at but had some solid flavors. For my entrée I ordered the Linguine Marechiaro. It is a flat, thin pasta with clams, shrimp, scallops, and mussels in a light red sauce. The shrimp were over done; the scallops were fine; the mussels were fine; and the clams were fresh but not cleaned properly. I could taste the sand and grit from the clams, which made the dish quite unpleasant to eat. The sauce was a little too salty for my taste. Overall this is a place that I most likely won’t revisit considering that Aqualina is in the plaza right across the way and offers way better Italian cuisine. My server was very friendly(all servers are men), but he had an intense accent that made understanding him only 10% possible.

Great place for fabulous pasta, veal, chicken, fish dishes. Terrific service, nice big bar, bartender’s the bomb, all the wait staff are attentive, and the manager and owner are always there to make you feel welcome. Can’t go wrong here…

The Mozzarella appetizer is my favorite! A must have! The service is impeccable and this was such a wonderful place for my Boyfriend to bring me for my Birthday. We sat outside on the patio for dinner which made it even more romantic. No wait staff has ever treated me so well!

The first time I had their cioppino(seafood soup)…I was over come with joy. I tuned everyone out, and focused in on my soup. The mussels were the size of a baseball, and the shrimp and other fruits of the sea that were wafting in the tomato/seafood stock were also amazing. My only regrets about mentioning this soup, is that it is seasonal… so cheers to hoping you catch it during the«on» season :) I“ve only come here during lunch time, so I cannot vouch for dinner… but if the service was this good during lunch, I can only expect it to heighten during the latter part of the day. The ambience is relaxed and quiet(not to mention white table cloths during lunch service…*gasp!) Other good dishes are: Amalfi salad(shrimp, mussles, clams, & calamari in lemon dressing) Veal picatta All of the panini sandwiches are amazing, especially the Caprese(prosciutto, mozarella, tomato, & basil) Good food, good quality ingredients, and good service.

This was no bueno. The only redeeming quality seemed to be the atmosphere. The wait staff and hostesses were not very friendly or attentive, and were slow as could be. We had the mussels in the white wine sauce to start out with and they we pretty tasty. The bread was also decent. However, it was the main courses that were a nightmare! DONOTGETTHERISOTTOS! We had the seafood risotto and the mushroom risotto and they were both terrible. The seafood was rank and the mushrooms were awful. Not a good dinner to begin a vacation!

We have been dining at Il Toscano for many years and wish we could give it more stars! The food is wonderful and is consistently that way. The décor is beautiful and the atmosphere is very warm. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and tend to your every need. Our favorite is Brando but anyone that has served us in his absence has been awesome. The owner and his family are always there making sure that everything is running smoothly and always come by your table to make sure you are happy. Check it out! We would be surprised if you don’t love it. The lobster ravioli and their steaks are to die for!

My honey and I went to this restaurant for dinner… The environment was ok, but we couldn’t understand our waitress. She seemed preoccupied with everything but actually getting our order. The food was good, but not great. Not great is not the type of review I’d expect for the prices. I won’t go back…

We are local and eat here all the time. We love eating outside and the view on the pond is very relaxing. The food is well prepared and the portions are huge. We always bring something home and get another meal out of it. The service is very professional and I’m sure they’ve all been doing it for many years. We love Il Toscano and hope they don’t change anything, or sell it to someone who ruins it. R. Parker

Absolutely horrible. The worst Italian dinner I have ever eaten. A friend recommended this place so I had to give it a shot. Coming from NY, we do know our Italian food. They do have outside seating but it was too humid that evening to sit outside. The ambiance was really nice. I loved the size of the bar area and the décor(minus the colored thumb tacks in the wall holding nothing up). We ordered the muscle appetizer which was ok. As everyone knows you need a good bread to soak up the sauce. The muscles were fresh, the sauce was tasty but the bread just ok. Seems like the bread was sitting out a while and lost its freshness. 2 of us had the Veal Medallion Marsala(can’t remember the exact name) and it was HORRIBLE! The veal was over cooked and dry. Honestly, it tasted spoiled! To make matters worse, I had red sauce with my pasta. WHY(please someone tell me) would they put everything in 1 dish. They mixed the Marsala sauce with the red sauce. Any decent restaurant would give you a 2nd dish of pasta knowing the 2 sauces(or gravy) do not mix. I told the waiter about it the veal and he ignored me. The manager then started giving me dirty looks and NEVER once came over to apologize or talk to me. They did NOT want to hear anything negative. However, on the way out, the waiter then stopped me at the door and apologized. He asked us to come back and give them a 2nd chance.

I came here on a Saturday evening with my family, thinking I was going to be treating them to an unforgettable meal due to the great reviews and the fact that I saw the restaurant on The Food Network one time. Well, this is the WORST food experience I have had in Italian thus far, and I have tried many places in both Miami-Dade and Broward. Let’s begin: 1– The Filet Mignon which is a meat that barely needs any flavoring at all, tasted like the bottom of my shoe. It was overcooked and came with a supposed peppercorn gravy that most definitely came straight out of a little packet or can. Then they told me it came with vegetables. The vegetables were a piece of dried up broccoli. Again, looked and tasted just like a TV Dinner. 2– The Penne alla Vodka was Macaroni and Cheese. Period. Nothing more to say about it. 3– The Pollo al Carbon was just that«carbon». It tasted like a piece of carbon. Awful. 4– The Fettucini with Porcini was like eating a gooey mush of sub par pasta with mushrooms. The one star is for the Buffalo Mozzarella and Prosciutto Ham appetizer, which anyone can make. Just a ball of cheese and a slice of ham(which was $ 20 and we didn’t find out until we got the bill because it wasn’t on the menu)…if I could give it a zero, I would. Oh and let’s not forget the moment of truth… the bill came in at $ 200 and no one even had a glass of wine or soda. Just water. Yes, thus far, the most painful experience of my life in Italian. My wallet is still hurting. If it would have been delicious, I would have been happy to pay – any price. Il Toscano, you better step it up, and Unilocalers… thanks a lot. Better Italian Places: Prima Pasta in North Miami Beach, Caffe Italia in Coral Gables, and better Penne alla Vodka –Rotelli.(yes, sad that a chain restaurant has better pasta).

I stood outside studying the menu as my hubby parked and walked to the restaurant(yes he is that gracious), and at the moment he came up to me the door flew opened and the owner exclaimed«We were WAITING for YOU!!» I jumped a little. It was quite effusive. He was very cute, made me feel very welcome, and the hostess was cracking up, you can just tell she saw me jump. So inside the décor is beautiful, perfect for an upscale Italian restaurant. The waiters all were wearing white jackets with the name embroidered on them. That is a classy touch! One thing you could tell that is important is that its clear they are career waiters. Mostly older men who KNOW how to treat the client, it was very old school. As it was I was feeling like a queen, well because as you read above they were waiting for me! But also, the service was impeccable. The food was delicious and quite abundant. We had calamari fritti(I hope I am not killing the spelling on that), Pasta e fagioli soup(spelling?), my hubby had a pasta bolognese and I had a pasta with seafood. The only little tiny ‘but’ I might have about the place was that we both asked that the tomato sauces be more of an arrabiata(all they have to do is add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes) and they weren’t hot at all. No biggie as I am sure the chef was none too happy that we requested the changes and as I said the food was delicious.

I have fond memories of this place and it definitely deserves a good review and more than one line. There is in fact an impressive wine list, the food is in one word FANTASTIC, good service and excellent recommendations. Try the Bistecca Rosmarino it is just right — also the Salmone Fantasia one word WOW !! Or since we are in the subject of good food — the Chilean sea bass is perfect !! pan seared to seal all the flavors while giving it a very palatable texture, skip the mash potatoes and enjoy with a touch of lime — Perfecto! Don’t fret if you are not a wine connoisseur, their recommendations will be right on. The ambiance sets the mood for a wonderful meal, whether it is business, a date or a romantic getaway with your significant other, make your way out to Weston, it will be worth the drive.
