I’ve been a patient for years. I have had excellent care, and what is impressive is that you are never rushed and testing is extensive. I have referred three people in the last two years who really like Dr. Fidler and the staff. I highly recommend him to anyone.

I started seeing Dr. Fidler almost 2 decades ago, after my friend raved about him, and my mother and son also became his patients. He is not only a great doctor ~ thorough, knowledgable, professional~ but just as importantly, a kind and caring man, always going the extra mile. The office visits are always pleasant and I don’t find that often anymore in my daily experience. Also, I pay out of pocket, rather than going to the people on my insurance — that’s how much more I trust him. I recommend him to anyone and everyone who asks!

I have been going to Dr. Fidler for close to 20 yrs. I was referred to him by a surgical opthamologist, to coordinate my Lasik surgery follow-up care. He is the most thorough eye doctor I have ever been to in Florida, and his practice is run like a concierge practice. I have sent many friends there and have only had positive feedback.

Friends referred me to Dr. Fidler a few years ago and I’m really happy with the care and service I receive from him and his team. He deployed some advanced examination technology when some irregularities appeared in my preliminary tests. As a result, he discovered I have early macular degeneration, and has me on a regimen of supplements and vitamins that may be able to stop it in its tracks. He has a nice, conservative selection of frames available, but you may want to go somewhere edgier on South Beach if you have more exotic fashion proclivities.

I initially came to Dr. Fidler’s office because Dr. Bearden’s office would not make consecutive appointments for my family of 4.(Dr. Bearden took over for Dr. Hanley, who we loved!) The office is lovely and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. My only disappointment occurred during our last yearly checkup. Their new technology of photographing the eye was not covered by my insurance and was never mentioned that it would be an additional fee. Didn’t realize this until I was settling the bill. I’ll ask next time. I really do like the doctor and staff. I recently called because I did something to my left eye and it got very irritated, red and discharging by the time I got home from work and removed my contact. The next morning, I called Dr. Fidler’s office and they were able to see me that day, got a prescription and before I went to bed, my eye was drastically improved. I’ll continue to see Dr. Fidler and would recommend him to my family and friends!

Reviews are important as they allow the customer to speak directly to other customers. At Dr. Fidlers practice, I’ve been a customer for almost a decade. And, even though I live in another state, I would visit his practice when in town for adjustments, etc. At issue was/is the last pair of glasses that I purchased. As we all know, glasses are not inexpensive. And mine were north of 500 dollars — without the eye exam. In short, my expectation level was high. I was very specific as to what I wanted and what was delivered missed on that expectation. I was told that perhaps I wasn’t specific enough — Although I thought saying, «exactly like my current pair» — which I bought from you — was sufficient. To correct the issue, I agree to pay, what I thought, was a discounted amount for a new lens.(at issue was the shape of the lens) I wasn’t happy — but maybe I wasn’t specific enough. For the next year, my glasses were never ‘quite right’ so I returned to the practice and just walked in for an adjustment. It was interesting as the person adjusting my glasses said, and I paraphrase, Whew, where did you get these? They have been drilled and re-drilled — that is why you are having trouble with the fit!” That was both news to me and a shock as that wasn’t what I had paid for — nor is it what I had been told. In short, I had been mis-lead. Further I discovered that what was presented as compromise was really me paying the full price for the ‘re-drilling’. My guess is that they never suspected that I would find out — and in particular from one of their own employees. The long and short is that I did return to speak to the Dr. I explained the situation to one of his employees. I didn’t get to speak to the doctor and it was clear that me as a client wouldn’t be a good fit for this practice. The attitude was one of, we have enough business without any issues. I want to be a patient — not just a source of revenue. I’m not entirely sure of the lesson as I thought that loyalty did count for something; however, it would seem that it does not. What was even more interesting is that within 30 minutes, while at the Publix around the corner, I mentioned the story only to be told that they had a poor experience with this practice where they felt that profit was the objective and if you didn’t like it — you could go elsewhere. From my view, I was willing to pay a high price — for service. It seems that the service is gone. And loyalty isn’t valued.
