District 15

The bouncer checking IDs thinks he’s a comedian or something. Has something slick to say to everyone that passes by but he’s the only one laughing. Payed 20 dollars each for me and my girlfriends after 1 to walk in and find no one in sight. Funny cause the line had a few people trying to get in but it went extremely slow and no one was inside. I guess they want people passing by to think they packed that they have a huge line outside.

Checked out the new club District 15. Outside and inside looks a bit creepy and freaky, like one of those sex dungeons (so I’ve heard). It was a Saturday Nite around midnite and no sign of life.
Again, creepy because this unknown Las Olas part of town is called Riverfront. The once popular and booming nightlife is now a dark ghost town most nights.
Needless to say, District 15 is having difficulty. There are 2 levels to this club, playing hip hop, top 40, and techno. When I was there, though, the second deck was closed off for a private party. Perhaps there was a sexy dungeon up there after all. Won’t be back to check it out however. Unless maybe they change their name to the Red Light District ;)
Only open two nights Friday and Saturday with an earth shattering $ 20 cover after midnite. They need to burn this blueprint and start anew.
But I hope District 15 sticks around and helps to eventually revitalize that section of Las Olas. At the moment, though, the ghosts of Riverfront loom.
