There was a guy handing out tickets for buy one get one free drinks. I go in with my girlfriend and I was very disappointed with the drinks. The view was beautiful by the ocean and The appetizer was decent. The restaurant seemed empty and needs work. Very disappointing!!!

HOW is this place still open? I went when they first opened and predicted they wouldn’t last a year. Still as terrible as ever, with a bad concept and awful service. And still open.

I ordered the Hawaiian style pulled pork with rice and tomatoes. It was spectacular. I’ve never had pulled pork in my life as tasty as this restaurant’s. The view of the ocean is also a big plus. The service is great as well!

Went here one afternoon for lunch. Decided to give this place a try because they were offering 2 for 1 drink specials. Ordered 2 fish bowls … boy they weren’t kidding! They emerged with 2 huge bowls enough to share among 4 people per bowl. Food was decent, I had a salad that was pretty good. Excellent view of the beach/ocean.

Five Stars for view and attentive waitress with the awesome tattoo of Salvador Dali on her thigh. Lunch: Chicken Wings — sauce was mediocre. Nothing special about it. Seltzer Water — The taste was very odd. Was not charged for it. Drink — Taste like pure syrup. My friend went directly to the bartender to prepare again. She gave her directions was pretty annoyed and didn’t even want to shake the drink when you’re suppose to. I don’t recall the drink ordered. In our table of five only one person was happy with their meal, which was mozzarella sticks. I didn’t taste it but she loved it.

The service was amazing. The food was absolutely great. We ordered the pizza(chorizo and pepperoni) and the big K burger with cheese fries. Everything was out of this world. We got the bucket of beers, decently priced. They had good mixed drinks. Prices on the entire menu was pretty good. Best view on the beach!

First of all, what kind of Hawaiian restaurant doesn’t have macaroni salad? Food was really bland, and the rice tasted like minute made boxed rice. Probably won’t be going back here…

The view is spectacular, and the set up is pretty neat with Aztec features and theme. However I will not be returning to this establishment in my lifetime. My waitress was sweet and did the bare minimum of what any waitress would do. The food was bland and over salted and presented poorly. Currently I’m sitting in this restaurant waiting for my waitress to pick up my check, mind you it’s been about 15 minutes already and she’s passed us twice. If handling a party of 2 on a slow Wednesday afternoon is this much of a hassle, I would hate to be here in a larger group.

So I have worked in many different restaurants and tend to probably have more patience then most when it comes to food service, but I was appalled by the service that my family and I received. Summary: our waitress was completely MIA, other servers/bussers were incredibly rude when we asked for help, food was decent at best and partially cold once we received it, our drinks went empty for most of the time we were there, and it took almost 2 hours for us to eat, pay and leave! RIDICULOUS! I highly advise to steer clear of this place. I will literally never eat here again and they would have absolutely no hope of winning my good graces again. Once we were sat at our table it took a good 15 minutes for our waitress to make it over to us to get drinks going and then another 15 minutes before we actually received drinks;(20 minutes for my brother to receive his drink from the bar). We were beginning to be agitated, but again, we tend to have patience for this kind of stuff. Our waitress took another good 10 minutes between dropping our drinks and coming back to our table to take our order.. I would have understood if it was busy, but this place was dead! Once we finally ordered, we waited a good 20 minutes before we received our appetizer. We watched other tables around us who had been sat way after we had been there receive their food before us by a long shot. At one point, I had to stand up, go to the bar and ask for the bar tender to send someone to come to our table because of how ignored we were. It took about 30 – 35 minutes before receiving our food. By this time, we are at 1 hour+ before we received our food! Our food was decent at best and partially cold. When I tried to connect with a couple of the other waiters/bussers and they were quite rude with me when I was asking about our food. If there was a manager on duty, we never saw him/her walking around. By the time, we were ready to leave, it took another 20 minutes or so for our waitress to make it back to our table. It took over an 1 hour and 45 minutes for us to be served and have us leave when it should have taken no longer than 45 – 50 minutes.

i loved it. I see alot of bad reviews here, and I dont really understand. we came in friday night — staying locally before a cruise the next morning. Just looking for a bite to eat and found it here. Fab views of the ocean — up on the 3rd floor of a mini mall. Its a big bar — music(although we were there too early for entertainment) and a good solid menu, We were looking for a burger to restore our faith in burgers — trying to get over the PTSD of a REALLYBADBURGER split in an airport restaurant in NY. We ordered the big kahuna burger — beef patty, ham, pineapple, bacon, kahuna sauce, onions & tomato. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. Probably the best i’d ever had. Nice hearly brioche type roll to hold up the the juicyness. We also had wings which were perfecty cooked and seasoned. The staff waws friendly and attentive. I’ll for-sure visit agian.

I knew as soon as we arrived that it was not going to be a pleasant experience. The first sign was that Hooters(across the walkway) had a 1.5 hour wait and there were virtually no stragglers making their way over to Da Big Kahuna. It was only desperation to not miss the beginning of the Patriots game that caused my husband and I to stay. Everything about the restaurant is tacky looking and the place just felt dirty. We sat at the bar to watch the game. It took them until halfway through the 2nd quarter to figure out how to get the sound working on the TV. Both my soda and my husband’s beer were completely flat. The onion rings we shared were just ok. I will say that the bartender was attentive and friendly, despite how busy she was. We left at halftime to finish watching the game at our hotel, and I will never step foot in another one of these restaurants again.

Not good. Borderline service combined with high prices and limited drink choices. We didn’t eat here but the menu wasn’t much.

So I went here on a really bad date, which I don’t know if that contributed to my option of the restaurant or if the restaurant contributed to my bad date. The chicken or the egg? Humm. Either way, the food was okay, nothing special at all. I ordered the Poke which had a good flavor but my bad date ordered a sandwich which did not look appetizing at all. The location and the atmosphere is kind of annoying being part of the strip and the«party» scene. Not really my idea of a good time. I was expecting a whole lot more form a Hawaiian restaurant. Just a little disappointed.

I’m going to keep this sweet and simple, that and I don’t really have much to say here. Came here at night in celebration for team KADA’s HESI success and took advantage of their 2 for 1 drink deal from wrist bracelets given out on the first floor and ordered two shell bowls which pricing was reasonable and shared between 10 people, not bad. Of course that is arbitrary on your party’s alcohol intake as well. Nothing to mention for the food since clearly this place isn’t somewhere you’d go if you were really looking a place to eat at this time of night on a Saturday. The music playing for the dance floor were pretty generic and eventually plays out itself as the night persists, otherwise it just an accessory for the place. It does on the other hand have a nice balcony view of the beach with its great location and basically the night is worth as much as the company you’re with, otherwise this is just a quick place to get turnt.

Get a wristband from people on first floor. It gets u one free drink when u buy one. The place was dead at 9pm on a Saturday. It as easy to get a drink. Bartender was friendly. Large dance floor. It is a clean.

I have relatives in Ft Lauderdale so went here as a local even though it’s in the heart of the tourist rip off area. Was planning on walking right by actually, knowing most of the other places in the same building cater to tourists and typically have horrible prices, but was approached by a street promoter who gave my wife and I buy one get one free drink cards for the place, although the cards did mention«with restrictions.» We decided to go check out the menu. I actually checked on Unilocal too and found a lot of negative reviews, which was a concern, but it was getting late so we decided to give it a shot since the menu looked reasonable if the food was good. Turns out the restrictions on the buy one get one free drink coupon was simply that both drinks come at the same time; so if two people in your party want the same drink, no big deal, otherwise, your second one might have some ice melt if you don’t drink the first one fast enough. In any case, it ended up being a pretty good deal because their drinks were strong and, while a little on the higher side, with the effective 50% discount, they were a very good price. My wife and I each had a large and strong long island which was about $ 9.50(and the second one free) and a smaller but still pretty strong vodka red bull for about $ 8(and a second one free). Including what ended up being great food and four drinks, our total bill was less than $ 50. So anyway, my recommendation is if you go at a busy time of the day, look for any promoters down at sidewalk level handing out coupons, or even around the advertising picture frames around the elevators where we found more of the coupons sitting that night. Regarding the food, I got what ended up being a pretty good pasta-based jambalaya and my wife had a burger which was cooked to the correct temp and came out fast. She ordered her fries extra crispy and those were prepared correctly as well. We’ll certainly go back again if only for the food and view, but if we find more of those coupons, will have some drinks as well. The view can’t be beat. Only downside is that there’s so much noise from all the bars and clubs in the area, including Kahuna itself, that you’re not going to be able to hear the ocean, so if that’s your goal, it probably won’t happen.

Luckily I hadn’t checked the reviews on Unilocal, most of which seem pretty dismal, or I wouldn’t have come here. As it turns out, for our group on this night, Da Big Kahuna was fine, and I’d happily return here with the right group. We arrived at Beach Place at around 5 p.m. on a Saturday and were hungry, a bit sweaty after just having been Go-Kart racing, and wanted a decent meal near the beach. I was planning to take our group to LuLu’s Bait Shack, as I knew they offered good food at decent prices and a great view of the beach. We got there and were told there’d be a 40 minute wait. We decided to check other options, and as we passed through Fat Tuesday’s on our way to the escalator, one of the people in our group spotted Big Kahuna. I explained that I’d never tried it and hadn’t even heard of it, but we decided to check it out. The place was relatively empty and they were able to seat us right away at a table overlooking the beach, so after a quick check of the menu, we decided to stay. Our server didn’t have much personality, but she was able to answer all the questions we had, she knew everything on their menu and took good care of us. The menu itself looks as if this place is kind of a spin off of LuLu’s Bait Shack, with similar food options, prices and drinks(including the fish bowl), but Da Big Kahuna puts a bit of a Polynesian spin on both the theme/décor and their menu offerings. I had the Mahi Mahi plate, which consisted of a blackened piece of mahi mahi(albeit a bit small), 2 scoops of plain white rice and a scoop of salsa. I believe everyone at our table of 6 ordered something different and everyone seemed happy with their meals, though there was a bit of disappointment as Da Big Kahuna was out of their Hawaiian Braised Short Ribs on this night. We weren’t there late enough to see the hula dancers or the show, but they do have a fairly large stage inside for those and other events. In addition to covered, open air dining, they have an indoor dining area as well as a bar that’s quite large and also offers seating. Does this place offer a fine dining culinary experience? No, but they they don’t claim to. Authentic Hawaiian or Polynesian food? Probably not. Geared more toward tourists and people on the beach looking for a «come as you are» kind of place to grab some food and drinks, and maybe take in the hula dancing and show in the evening? It seems so, yes. Was it fine for our group and what we were looking for on this night? Yep!
