Chops is literally the reason why we take cruises! This place has it all. Bacon, french onion, crab cakes, steak, chocolate cake and its only $ 39 each!!! Are you serious? We spend $ 300 on a meal like this at a steakhouse in manhattan. This place is really amazing and we usually dine here at least 2 or 3 times on an 8 day cruise!

As other had said, it is a specialty restaurant on Royal Caribbean Cruise that require a surcharge. Main Dining and Buffets were only eatable. Most of the specialty restaurants were pretty good and worth the surcharge. Chop Grille was an ok steak house. Staff was friendly; we wanted a table of 14, but they cannot put it together for us. They had to seat us on two different tables. Appetizers were all ok. My wife loved her Wild Mushroom soup. The Pawns were good size. The short ribs were good, but the dry aged Prime rate steak were very good. It does cost extra but well worth it.

Royal Caribbean is earning itself a reputation of good food. We were on Celebrity boats that were supposed to have good food, but the Allure of the Seas has them all beat. Chops is a typical steak place, but that is not a bad thing when you are stuck on a boat with 6000 people all vying for the free food in the main dining room. Steaks were better than any in the area I live, and some great sides to go with(and sauces). Loved the Tuna app and the desserts were all great. As far as ships food I’d give it a 5 star rating, but 150 Central Park just a few steps away takes that honor. Do yourself a favor and don’t be cheap on your next cruise… stop in at chops. We ate there twice last time we sailed the Allure.

2.5 star Disclaimer: I am not a Steak lover so the review might be bias This experience is for the Chops Grill on board the Allure of the Seas. Chops Grill is one of the dining venues on board Allure that has a surcharge of $ 30 per person. If you love a good cut of beef, go for it! As one of my dinner mate has a wonderful experience. But for me it was Meh! We ordered Appetizers : Shrimp Cocktails — Excellent and Sizable Crab and Shrimp Cake — Nice presentable but was Meh Avocado and Yellow tail Tuna Tartar — not bad but I had much better Oysters — 3 ways — MEH the toppings and sauces were all overwhelming Soup: Cream of Wild Mushroom with White Truffle Oil — The truffle oil was doing the magic making this the best soup I had for the whole cruise! French Onion Soup — caramelized onions was sweet and savory at the same time Main: Fillet Mignon — A little overcook for Medium Rare and it was on a dry side T-Bone — A much better cut and was cooked well Tiger Shrimps — Huge shrimps size of a small lobster tail, fresh with great texture Dessert and Coffee: Cappuccino and Latte — from the MF Presto automatic machine, MEH Mud Pie — Huge portion of chocolate chocolate and more chocolate Strawberry Passion Mousse — Light and A-OK Crème Brulee — total fail with the flame overcooked the custard Services was So So! Our waiter ended up have to take care of too many tables and was missing in action for awhile! For $ 30 surcharges, I found it totally not worth the price of admissions. I will not be going to be back to Chops again!
