The location and decoration is nice. The mimosas were good but messy. The wait was very long. It took over an hour for the food to come out. However, the food was delicious!

A little quiet on a Thursday happy hour night but it’s early. However the wine is very nice. We’ll be back.

The sad downfall of a once great spot. Great location, right next door to the Gateway Theater and the best place to wait out the starting time of a film. Problem 1. The food is gone — no cheese, no crackers, just a half-hearted apology from a wait person who pointed vaguely down the street and said you can get a pizza there. Problem 2. Noise from what they called background music, rendered by a loud woman who believes in the wrong-headed idea that the louder you sing, the better you sing. So much for conversation. I ended up wandering over to The Canyon for some take out and when I left that excellent restaurant, the noise from Chill assaulted me – a full half-block away(by the way, in the opposite direction from the pointing of the indifferent wait-person.) For some the inability to have a conversation might be a blessing in disguise. I am thinking of a date that was wrong from the outset. For me, bye bye Chill I knew you when you were good.

This place gets 2 stars only bc I really liked my wine. The service sucks! I was greeted, well not greeted by the portly hostess possibly manager with the bob haircut at the front. She saw me walk in and stand by the hostess stand, she continued her conversation until I asked if I could sit outside. She rudely and I mean if looks could kill looked me up and down and directed another girl to help me, all I asked was if I could sit outside. The girl who greeted me turned out to be our waitress and was very sweet however very new and very clueless. She didn’t know what the happy hour included and we asked her for a menu twice. After asking for a food menu twice she then told us the only food they had available was the cheese plate. Um ok, we are starving so I guess that will do. The place is nice but what happened to the rest of the menu and customer service. Won’t be returning

I had a glass of wine but my husband wanted beer. They had only one beer available from their menu and it wasn’t one my husband wanted but he ordered it just to have something. He didn’t like the beer or drink it, but the server still charged us. We also wanted a small appetizer but no food from the menu was available. The staff should have told us that they were out of everything when we first walked in, instead of waiting for us to order each time and tell us that our choice was not available. Also should have offered us a discount to compensate for the lack of choices. Not a great atmosphere either… Don’t think I would go back even if they were fully stocked.

Pleasantly surprised by how pretty and modern the interior of this wine bar/lounge is. Couldn’t really find a wine i loved to be honest. Will be back to try out more options. I was hoping for a fresh sangria. Would really be a great option for me atleast.

Consistently awesome. The staff is friendly. The wine is great. The food, although limited, is tasty. I highly recommend the Sixth Sense Syrah. It’s the best wine in the menu IMHO. Bottom line, you can’t go wrong with this place.

Let me start by saying I like CHILL. And I want to like it more. Let me start with the positives: NICEVIBE, GOODBACKGROUNDMUSIC, COMFYSEATING [at the bar, tables, and lounge type sofas], its spacious, has floor to ceiling windows allowing for good people watching. GREATSELECTIONSOFWINES [after all, ITIS a WINE bar], and all the staff give a great pour. We had the TRECINI Sauvignon Blanc — Russian RIver — and enjoyed it so much bought a bottle at 50% off when we left. HAPPYHOUR Daily from opening to 7PM. If you caught an early movie at the Gateway, this is a great place to STOPAT before heading for dinner, or to START at if you are catching a later film. The GUYS who work there are all spot on, attentive, and work their butts off between the inside and outside tables. Props to CHAD and RICH. So, what’s the issue preventing 5* rating? After 5 visits, each one where my wine was accompanied by plates of cheese or the charcuterie board, I have found that there can be inconsistency in the plating of the food. Sometimes portions are generous, and on other occasions, I wondered if they ran out of crackers or did they forget to put all the cheeses or meats on the plate? [The pictures posted to Unilocal show the variances]. It’s not the end of the world, but is annoying. Plus, some staff are less attentive than they should be. At this visit, a waitress took the order, almost dropped the cheese platter when putting it on the table, forgot the napkins, didn’t bring anything to spread the cheese, and then left the premises [to have a smoke?], and when she returned, rushed past our table to go into the kitchen. I had already asked the bartender for everything we were missing, and he was quite responsive, even though he was also tending bar, while waiting on tables inside and outside. We will return, and hopefully have Chad or Rich wait on us, and enjoy the laid back setting and interesting wines. Looking forward to being there when there is live music!

Clean, nice, bright atmosphere. Staff friendly and a lot if fun to visit with., made you feel very welcomed and comfortable. The only reason I gave 3 vs 5 stents was we went on a Monday. They only had 4 out of 9 appetizers on the menu and the first 5 bottles of wine we selected they were also our of. Reason«it’s Monday and we got slammed on the weekend«OK it happens I can buy that once cause I liked the place and people But plan and order better or like many other places close on Mondays. After driving there in traffic from working all day. That’s not what you want to hear !! But we will go again and I’m confident it will be a 5

I really like this place, it can be a little pricey for a single mom like me but moderate for my single friends without kids. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere, a cool place to hang out and drink wine!

I do not know if it was a coincidence that this place was named«Chill» Wine Lounge or that it was by design that Coleen and the staff, along with a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere made me feel like I was having the best«Chill» I have had at a wine bar in a very long time. Well yesterday I was Chillin here and I could of stayed until closing but that would of been bit too much. Chill Wine Lounge has the best selection at any wine bar I have been to in the area for boutique wines by the glass. They never stick with the same wines but try new wines all the time to keep the wine tasting interesting. The wine list is extensive, with a large selection of Champaign(I counted 15 different varieties I believe), a great selection of wines from Spain and South America, great boutique Cabs from California and the list goes on. Most wine bars do not offer wine by the glass with so many varieties, only a couple reds, a couple whites and a couple sparking wines. Chill has about 25 bottles opened on the bar at one time. Amazing. They also offer a selection of Craft Beers on the wine menu. They offer a great cheese and meat dish you can order to accompany your wine, and they surely do not cheat you on the portions. In fact, back to the wine pours. They are not so skimpy either. The bar is REALLY comfortable, and is set up to make it so easy to socialize and meet new people. There is a pretty large area with four top tables, so plenty of room inside if you do not want to sit at the bar. In addition to the inside seating, there is outside, comfortable seating as well. Next, I must say that they really have a great happy hour because they do not limit the happy hour wines like most bars and restaurants do. They really want to promote great wines, and do not seem to skimp on ANYTHING, just make it a great experience for their patrons. They offer 2 for 1 wines on all their wines by the glass. The prices by the glass and BOTTLES are not marked up to the moon either. The have an abundance of less expensive wines and a very well chosen variety of finer wines, also not marked up at retail to turn a person who knows wine prices away. Chill Wine Lounge is definitely the place to «chill». So relaxing here. Will be back often and hope to see you there .

Last week’s NPR specials about low fat foods, carbs and sugar sent me a new dieting rage lol. After sushi for dinner I decided that we should stop by Chill Wine Lounge for a dessert cheese plate and avoid anything sugary! After the previous Unilocal event here I’d been meaning to come back. Wine + cheese + couches + live music is right up my alley and suffice to say this evening here was perfect. We picked out a great couch spot and the live music started right then. Not too loud so that we couldn’t talk which was great. The singer, wish I caught her name, had a mellow reggae vibe that was perfect for me. The staff was attentive in getting us menus, letting us try our wine choices before we committed and bringing out our food. I tried a South African white which was delicious and the bf had an Israeli Pinot Noir — not your typical wine growing regions. I appreciate their selections — keep in mind you’re looking at ~$ 11 a glass here which is pricey, but the bottle prices are fantastic. We ordered the cheese plate and a bowl of olives. The olives were mixed varieties which was nice and the cheese plate was well presented. We had had the port cheese before at the Unilocal event, but the jerk cheese stole the show! Who knew that jerk seasoning and cheese went so well together! If you’re looking for a chill spot(the name sure does fit) to enjoy wine(or even beer) over some light bites then this is a great spot. The parking area in the back does get filled by the restaurants next door, but we had no problem parking at 9pm on a Friday evening.

Still loving Chill! If you haven’t been here you are missing out on a gem of Fort Lauderdale! The wines are regularly updated so there are new things to try and love along with favorites. The atmosphere is hip but not intimidating. If you want a recommendation the staff can usually hit your preferences spot on. We are lucky to have such a great spot in FTL for wine and tapas.

Elegant, classy, modern this are some words to describe this great place. I got the opportunity to attended to this place for and Unilocal event and what a great surprise. Their cuisine is fantastic. The wines where great. Decoration I love the crystal tables and their walls full of wines if this wasn’t enough. The live music provide from a beautiful girl that sits and play right next to the bar made the perfect evening. This guys are new but I see a lot of future on them. Thanks for everything and I cant wait till I go back

Stumbling around a Saturday night looking for a chill hangout. Canyon is packed as usual and we just missed the start of the movie playing at The Gateway. Damn. Wait, what’s that singing I hear? I smell Shiraz… and manchego cheese. Lo and behold, The Chill Wine Lounge appears before me right next to The Gateway, like a mirage. A solo singer with a keyboard and a catchy rocky voice was the prefect compliment to the toasty tapas. Crostinis and wine. Helpful wait staff with iPads and cute hats. Cozy seating areas with mismatched furniture, a small bar, high tops and a few large tables perfect for a fun, handsome crowd. Couples and singles and small groups, gay, straight — all pretty groovy. No stupid young and awkward. Just chill. With munchies and good pours. Looks like the age group stopping in here is typically 35 plus. Not a hang out for millennials. Well maybe the broad minded. I have been back since first stumbling in and shall return again and again. Check it out.

Chill Wine Lounge is actually a wine lounge, not merely a wine bar, which just opened next to the Gateway Theater and hopefully will evolve into a great place, as the name implies, to chill out and have a good glass of wine before or after going to the movies. It’s well appointed, rather spacious, has comfortable lounge seating and even sit down table seating, a friendly staff but at present it has startup opening pains which are all too obvious, resulting it what can be a more aggravating than relaxing environment. The waitress was pleasant, I was seated, given a wine menu, but then she disappeared. Twenty minutes of waiting was enough so I went to the bar itself in order to get a couple glasses of wine which merely resulted in further aggravation as the woman tending the wine bar turned out to be so unskilled at opening wine bottles the situation required her to locate and obtain the assistance of another staff member. Then when it came to pay, which I would think any bozo might quickly figure in his head, such ended up with the necessity of hauling out a computer which, instead of helping matters, only seemed to complicate them further. It’s a good place; I like it, and look forward to returning but not until they get the bugs worked out of their business. Until they do that, I can only go two stars.

Always have a really great glass of wine at this place. Myself, I’m not a wine expert. Not by a long shot. So, I really depend on the knowledge of the staff. And every time that we’ve been to Chill, our server has been incredibly knowledgeable about the wine selection. I’m the kind of person who says things like, ‘I’m looking for a white wine that’s sweet, but not TOO sweet. Dry, but not TOO dry.‘ Yes, I’m that guy. Mea culpa. But the staff at Chill is really good at interpreting my novice point of view and suggesting wines that I’ve really enjoyed. The only ‘down’ side to Chill, I’d say, is that the place is pretty small and, therefore, it tends to get packed rather quickly — especially right before and right after the evening movies at The Gateway theater next door. But even when it’s ‘packed,’ the buzz both inside and outside is quite nice. If you’re a person who’s not into crowds, just plan your trip accordingly. And I do want to give a huge compliment to the server(and management, too) who assisted us on our last trip. For the life of me, I can’t remember his name, but he was incredibly versed on wine in general and equally versed on the wine selection that’s available at Chill. I’m sure that we wore him out with questions. But all three of us did end up with a fantastic glass of wine. He really knew what he was talking about. You don’t find that level of expertise very often these days. All in all, Chill is a great place to stop-in for a top-notch glass of wine. Definitely will be back.
